I usually reply either “I hang drywall” or my favourite “I’m between opportunities right now” (I’m actually gainfully employed in a 6 figure career). It’s actually fun to watch how quickly people back out of the conversation.

It’s not because they’re necessarily weak men, it’s because women have an innate ability to verbally and emotionally break a man through constant nagging and complaining. The men saying this are acting rationally to the reality of their relationship. If they bought XX they’d never hear the end of it, and sometimes it’s easier to just avoid the whole thing. It is sad though

I know social media morphed into a cancer but Facebook was brilliant for seeing how old crushes and ex GF turned out. Haven’t seen a single one morph into anything I want to be around, dodged sooo many bullets.

It’s very liberating to realize you don’t care any more. No love, hate, anger, animosity over an ex. Just indifference, and moving on with your own life where you are the centre. My ex is the same (6 years split and still full of anger and hate). I actually “feel bad” for her (by that I mean I recognize how terrible her life must be) being trapped in all that angst and hate. I actually pity her while at the same time not caring one way or the other. Enjoy it, you are truly free.

Their best bet is to look for transfers from cash to a KYC exchange, then demand documents from there. They could use the blockchain to show coins moved from the exchange to another wallet(s) so you'd need some kind of excuse for where that asset went. Even if you obfuscate the wallet addresses via mixers or move into/out of a privacy coin, the judge is still going to want a good answer where those funds went. If a guy wants to go this route, the best bet is probably a non-KYC exchange like BISQ…

What did I just read? That was the rantings of a narcissist, quite literally incapable of framing a complex and nuanced event (suicide) as being anything other than about herself. The scary thing is, her vote counts as much as yours.

Yep, and here in Canada, at least once a year, some poor bastard suck starts a shotgun because of it. There's usually a newspaper article that talks about it with some rebuttal about how he just needed to work a little harder, etc..... ...and in the end, nothing ever changes.

Not surprised. I have a friend who's wife fought to win the dogs in the divorce. She won, and within a month she had both dogs put down because they were incompatible with her new life. Apparently that happens often.

Sir, that is an absolute brilliant summation. The only thing I'd "argue" about (I use that term lightly) is the I-Do part. They're insidious, they wait until you're emotionally invested in them, then start a little bit at a time, slowly testing boundaries of control wrapped up in the narrative of being "part of a team". It doesn't take the I-Do exactly, it takes the emotional investment and the slow eroding of the man's willpower and agency. Like you say in your summation, the real insidiousness…

Hard to do if you want to see your kids. See, that's the hook. When you have something you can't live without, they use the threat of taking it to make you comply. My kids are innocent in this mess.

My ex is living in a 2,800 sq ft new construction house with her unemployed boyfriend and my two kids. I live in a ghetto apartment and send her boatloads of money every month. If I try to make more, you know, to improve my life, it has to be under the table or within minutes her lawyer hits me with demands for more money. They tell me it's not slavery, but it kind of feels like slavery. So yeah, they usually aren't that broke.

Men are significantly more emotional than women. The size of the amygdala (significantly larger in human males) points to a biological source of that. Men are also significantly more emotionally developed than women. We're more able to understand and control our emotions. There's a huge difference between FEELING emotions and EXPRESSING emotions. Women have no control over expressing and thus assume men don't feel because they don't express.

I was going through a divorce when that episode was relatively new. Seeing the parallels and the way she could so easily lie to protect the "loving wife" image was fascinating and horrifying. It worked incredibly well at opening my eyes and seeing the world for what it was and not what I wanted it to be.

This is my story. Ex makes about 2x my income, joint custody, judge told me "she needs the money to pay the kids bills". Pointing out I also have bills when the kids are with me just made the judge angry. The "made your own bed" argument is BS too. Guys get caught in the trap. It sucks, but I don't regret having kids, just the unfair laws.

They really do, and one of the biggest red pills is realizing you can't trust what women say because of it. Everything they say is run through the filter of social opinion and designed to foster the best possible image they can build. If you pay attention though you realize there's a huge disconnect between what they say, and what they actually do.

If you mean your chances of having your life really fucked up, then truth. If you mean your chances of being happy in life, it's worse than this. Simple math: Approx 50% of marriages fail. We can assume the 50% that fail are not really that happy Of the remaining 50%, they all cannot be happy with their life and are staying together for some other reason Therefore, (probably significantly) less than 50% of everyone that gets married ends up happy I'd suggest the right side needs another bullet o…

I don't advocate violence, but honestly with the level and depth of beatings men get in family court, I'm sincerely surprised it doesn't happen way more often (to include divorce lawyers and judges). To be clear, I don't think it should happen, just that I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

It was another horrifying case. Guy was paying child support for 4 kids (teenage). He "gave" his wife complete title to a $1.2M waterfront house (probably now worth significantly more) as a lump sum payment for alimony (I think there was about $600k worth of equity in the house and in Canada, that's tax free). Fast forward a few years and she's mortgaged and taken on debt to the point of bankruptcy. Drags the guy back to court claiming she "didn't understand" what she signed (despite her lawyer …

He fucked up by financially supporting her while together. That's the catch they used to declare them "cohabitating". NEVER give her money/help with the bills/etc... NEVER. Also, sincerely, why risk being a wage slave for a girlfriend. I'd be curious to know how many guys split with their girlfriends after hearing this news.

You need to learn to enjoy the qualification process. Q: So What do you do for work? A: Well, right now I'm between opportunities, but it's giving me time to work on my art. Q: Do you own or do you rent? A: I don't believe in those capitalistic concepts of oppression. Q: What kind of car do you drive? A: You think I'm a climate killer? That's a terrible thing to assume. and so on. Of course it's 100% bullshit but this is the game they wanted to play.

Lets do some back-of-envelope math here. Approx world pop. 7.5 Billion Approx gender distribution - 51% female (due to higher longevity mostly) Thus - Approx. 3.82 Billion females. Rough guess, about 25%-ish not yet into puberty, so 2.87 Billion post pubescent Lets say about 5% are without one or two breasts due to disease, etc....so 95% remaining = 2.725 Billion Thus, at 2 boobs per female, that's about 5,450,000,000 (5.45 Billion) individual boobies. You don't understand how Canadian courts work. Judge: "I order you to pay your ex wife $$$" Guy: "I don't have $$$" Judge: "That's contempt of court then. I told you to do something and you didn't, so off to jail you go" 30 days later Judge: "do you have the money yet?" Guy: "Are you fucked? I've been in jail. Where was I supposed to get the money?" Phillips warned: “It may well be, therefore, that your remaining assets, equity in the home and RRSPs, etc., end up entirely in the hands of (ex-wife). If that’s the result you are trying to bring about, then so be it. But you cannot thumb your nose at the court as you have done.” Wow.....seems to me the guy really touched a nerve with this judge. Why does the judge keep saying he's "thwarting justice"? Divorce is a civil contractual matter before the courts, it's not criminal, "justice" doesn't enter that picture, and... Divorce hasn't been "just" in a fuck long time.

It's the rise of the nu-males (I like that term for it) that bothers me. I find myself looking at these guys wondering if they have any self respect at all. Women as a whole did this to themselves. 50 years of telling society this is what they wanted, neutered males and the death of "macho" culture. Valid point about Trump being elected, and I agree completely with the point about safety valves. Still, I think there's some room between the current practical reality of a rubber stamp head of state and the rule-by-decree full powered royal. Also, I'm not entirely sure the powers can be removed with anything less than a revolution. The powers are ingrained in the constitution and anything the Queen does would pass any legal challenge. The thing that bothers me with this reality (and unfortunately, it's a reality) is that it effectively creates a democratic dictatorship with any government voted in with a majority of parliament. Two reasons really..... Legal Fees. For example, my wife and I disagree over the valuation date of some asset, her date benefits her by $10K over my date. Lawyers all agree I'm right, she's wrong, but her and her lawyer are perfectly willing to spend 6 months on motions and legal maneuvers to fight the point. So do you spend $30k to win $10? Similar in Canada. My favourite is you can never get ahead. Raises in salary are an automatic increase in payment (yes, she would have to file paperwork but if you delay you’ll be charged in arrears). If you work overtime, and it’s steady enough, they assume that’s just your expected salary and increase payment on that. Same with passive income. And once it’s up, it takes a very-difficult to obtain court order to lower it. How is that not slavery?

It’s a brilliant trap if she pulls it off. I’ve seen similar in a bunch of situations where she’s employed, they marry, she gets pregnant, quite her job because “it makes sense and rather have the child at home rather than raised at day care”. After a year of this, divorce and maximized child support and alimony because she’s a stay at home mom now.

They operate on short term immediate result, and are terrible at the long strategy. So long as they’re winning battles, they think they’re winning the war....but.... Similar thing happened with my ex. She held all the post-separation cards and knew it and played those cards hard. But, over time she painted a picture of herself as an uncaring and unreasonable person and it caught up with her in court. To avoid being slaughtered in court her and her pit bull lawyer went (very uncharacteristically)…

Not entirely sure I agree. After my marriage ended I went on a bit of a pump and dump tear, and I know a few other guys that did the same, filling the hole in their lives with random hookups. Most (myself included) avoided a relationship though. After a while the sleeping around became too hollow too, that’s when it was abandoned and replaced with self reflection.

You’re probably right, but it still misses the point. The reason this resonates (whether they’re really together or just a well timed pic of two strangers) is every guy who’s ever dated knows the feeling this guy seems to have. We’ve all been there before.

What makes me saddest of all is “hate” speech first gained steam and in some countries, became laws as a reaction to radio broadcasts during the Rwandan Genocides that are thought to have further deepened the atrocities. As with all “thin edge of the wedge” issues, nobody can really argue against the thought process behind trying to limit that (although my stance is not to limit any speech at all). Sure, I’ll buy that. The overall point I was trying to get at is it would be nice to have easily accessible stats available so a future student can compare cost of education to future payoff. True statement. Multitasking in the human brain, male or female, is a myth. Countless studies have shown this but there’s a simple logic test to show it. If women could multitask better than men, why are there not separate magic shows for men and women. Women, under this logic, should be more resistant to diverted attention necessary for magic and so should require a higher level of trick to fool. Multitasking is a myth

Not modern women, all women ever. The attraction is evolutionary and hard wired. Difference was 50 years ago men were still men. The good man that provided still didn’t put up with her shit. Then, in the 80’s, society really bought into this “women want a sensitive man” crap, and today is the logical conclusion. There is a reason for the declining marriage and dating rates. Younger men see what has happened to their uncles, fathers, mentors. They read the news and hear the horror stories. I don’t know if that’s ever worked though.

Long ago noticed this. I’m fit, do a bunch of sports and spend time in the gym. Every single girl I’ve ever dated goes on about how they love that about me, and every single one starts baking and cooking the most fattening crap a person can eat. Every single one gets angry when I turn it down and comment that they’re trying to make me fat and ask if they want to date a fat guy. I have never actually understood the reasons behind it, but every single one does it.

I’m with you in this perspective as well. I don’t hate women, how can you hate something for just being what it is. Having said that, I do hate the near untouchable position they’ve been raised to in society. Not that long ago it was still okay to call out their bullshit, not any more. I also think most guys rage on the deception. They hate the delta between the image they portray and the behind closed doors when nobody is looking reality. It feels too machiavellian and fraudulent. Still, can’t …

You might be partly right but that really reads like you’re saying most MGTOW’s are incel’s waiting to get on the plantation. I’m sure that’s partly true, that there’s some of that here, but I’m not sure it’s true of the majority. Myself, I have absolutely no problem getting attention from women. Never have. Still, I’ve made my own rational decision that it’s simply not worth the effort or trouble.

It had benefits in years past, with a solid division of labour where the one kept the house and all associates tasks and raised the children, and the other traded labour for money. Over time, we automated so many of the household chores. Actually, okay, you are right. Let’s talk about your position. I propose new laws that make it mandatory to prove financial competence and resources when a woman becomes pregnant. If she’s found unable to financially support the child, she’s subject to mandatory abortion. I mean, if you can’t afford to have a kid, don’t have a kid....right? All sarcasm aside, I’ve said before, eliminate child support and watch single motherhood rates plummet. Is that your argument?

I can support a child just fine and when I made the children I lived in a home with a combined income of nearly $300,000. The problem is “child support” laws have cut me off at the knee where it’s impossible long term to financially support the children when they’re with me. The intent of the law is to normalize incomes between the households so the children experience the same standard of living at either home. My example shows instead they’ve greatly enriched the mother at my expense making it…

Agreed completely with your core sentiment. The reason women play so heavily into the philosophy though is thanks to biology we have an innate and near undeniable urge to lust after women. Society and laws have evolved to take advantage of this. Most would agree that long term, it’s impossible to be truly MGTOW and be in a relationship. While I agree on a fundamental and moral level, the problem with this is you will in most places draw an assault charge/conviction. This is because of the concept of self defence up to using the minimum amount of force needed to diffuse the threat. I hate this concept, but it’s the law of the land in most places. Yes, as a simple function of statistics but it’s not a design goal. It’s why we apply “innocent until proven guilty” meaning the state must make a case why your guilty, and “beyond a reasonable doubt”. This thought process is built on the conviction that women are not strong enough to overcome reality, that if you show her most CEO’s are men, that taste of reality is the real barrier to women reaching their potential. There’s too much wrong with this world view to begin to discuss, but in a nutshell, of seeing most CEO’s are men presently is enough to dissuade you from chasing that goal, you then do NOT possess what it takes to become a CEO.

At an absolute minimum, prior to marriage, both should have to spend a session with a divorce lawyer who will explain exactly what legal consequences you’re signing up for.

Ex wife makes 3x my salary (>$150k/yr), we each have the kids 1/2 the time, I pay her full child support. She refuses to send clothing/school supplies with the kids. I live in a $1,000 net deficit every month. My government tells me my situation is fair. Anyone want to wonder why divorce men’s suicide rate is so high?

I’m not one to judge, if someone chooses to sleep with taken, that’s their call. Me though, I can’t get past that I’d be fucking over some other clueless guy, and I can’t bring myself to do that. Not out of any sense of “saving” him, I just don’t want to be some twat’s piece of cheat meat. Always keep in mind she might (probably is) using you as an excuse to break up, and there’s always the risk of being blindsided by an angry husband and a tire iron.

You’d be doing him a favour. Nothing wrong with an anonymous “you should check out [insert caught evidence]” text. Downside is, husband will probably be heartbroken and end up severely fucked over by court, while she will sit back and collect cash prizes

This here is truth. Eating and working out will produce results but unless you have proper test levels those gains will be limited. I’m 6’1 athletic that spends 6 days in the gym for the last 25 years. I’m in good shape, but without juice I’ll never be jacked. Eating more only ever adds belly fat to me

Okay, "social norms" by itself was probably not the best descriptor to use. "Changed social norms" is most likely more correct. A good example is the stigma's attached to infidelity and divorce. Thirty years ago there was a definite social stigma attached to both. They still happened, but there was a cost. Today they are treated as almost normal and expected or at least not surprising. The laws are easy to explain. At least in Canada the family laws were all changed in the mid 1990's to a set of…

See, that’s whats wrong with viewing MGTOW, nobody here is discarding “status quo and traditional ideas”. Instead, those here have realized “status quo and traditional ideas” no longer exist, and have been replaced by laws and social norms that offer no benefit to the man at worst and at least pose serious life altering risk to his wellbeing. “Status quo and traditional ideas” are simply the bait used to get men to voluntarily enter into this horrific system. That’s the core of the problem. If these women got popped in the mouth for behaving like this, a whole lot less would behave like this. This is the result of decades of anti-domestic-violence (against women) messaging. Clearly it’s wrong, nobody should take a beating because the spaghetti is undercooked, but in this case she desperately needs to have her teeth fed to her. Unfortunately society has lost the ability to tell the difference

The problem is at and shortly after the point of discovery, the man doesn’t just fall out of love like a light switch was flipped. You're still missing my point, I'm not saying terrorists or insurgents or "freedom fighters" are deserving of or entitled to the protections offered under the conventions, I'm trying to say the leftist cry of "she was a child" at 15 is invalid under the rules of the convention so why would we extend the "child" rules past the age of 15 to these women?
/r/MGTOW04/04/19 10:53 PM
2

True, but it does serve as a useful metric to judge actions and definitions outside that convention. It's why we don't employ chemical attacks against terrorist or insurgent groups because society as a whole as codified in the convention agreed chemical attacks were off limits. Society as a whole decided when it comes to combat, 15 = adult. Although every society has a different legal concept of "adult" but the convention is the closest we have to a globally agreed benchmark regarding combatants…

What don’t you understand? Women are hyper focused on their social image. Although a great post, I have one nuance to add. Most divorce lawyers don’t “win” the wife anything in the frame of going to court and obtaining a judgement. Most “win” by playing a horribly damaging game of attrition. People fall for the trap all the time despite these stories. Two reasons combine to make them walk into the trap: She’s not like that (NAWALT), she’s never do that to me, even if things went sour. She’s a good person and so am I. The guy in the story must have done something wrong. Maybe didn’t do the dishes enough or treat her like a partner or something. Fun fact (and it’s fun to present to women who use that pregnancy angle), but it’s widely accepted that passing a stone is significantly more painful than natural child birth, and that men experience significantly more pain in passing than women due to the longer urethra. WTF? Cannot actually be real. Even in my most BP times, I’ve always had way more self respect than this. I think that’s what repulses me so much when I see guys “accept” terrible behaviour or treatment from others (gf/wife/hopefuls/etc... in particular), is the pure lack of self respect. Guy must be severely delusional or severely lacking in self esteem

What amazes me about this is they wouldn’t hesitate to use DNA to prove you’re the father and get you on the hook, but it’s illegal without a court order to use DNA to prove you’re not the father. What logical hoops do you need to jump through to decide this is okay??

Standard caught in a lie tactic. Both men and women do it. Caught lying? Backtrack, admit to the crime caught which will have a ring of truth to it, but only admit to what you were caught on and anything necessary to support what you lied about, but insist that was all that happened. The hope is that you bite off on this morsel of “truth” and accept it as the whole story even though it rarely is.

Was talking about this yesterday. In a non-insignificant potion of the world this woman would be jailed at best or dragged into the street and stoned to death for the crime of adultery. Somehow in western society, we now punish the crime of adultery by giving her a lifetime of work-free cash, the house and the kids (if young still), all enforced ruthlessly by the government. Something seriously wrong with that.

I'm very well aware of estate law and family law. What you're suggesting agrees with basic corporate law and it's very common for an owner to be an employee as well, however no corporation is ever non-owned. Maybe where you live there's an odd mutation of law, but generally, this idea wouldn't work as in the end you'd have to own the company valued by the held assets and have to give 1/2 that ownership up
/r/MGTOW17/09/18 04:26 AM
1

This doesn’t make any sense. Yes the assets are the company’s, but you own the company. Yes she can’t take 1/2 the stuff but she can take 1/2 the company. Only way around this is let someone else own the company. If that’s the case, it’s a complicated version of the OP. Need to be careful with either, the courts have a dim view of “hiding” assets by obscuring ownership

They always do this. You cannot say in law “remove the man” as that’s clearly biased, but you instead word it so the end result is the same. Bonus points if the wording catches the odd chick too, that allows “confirmaction” that the law totally isn’t sexist.

This. It's been tried before when men see their ex-wife making it rain with the CS and the kids are just barely funded. The argument that the courts always side with is it's repugnant and a breach of personal dignity if you make the payee justify the cost. The one argument I can buy is by requiring an accounting of where the money has gone could open the payee to harassment and control of the payor.

One thing Canada got right is it bought into the logic that you are responsible for anything you do while intoxicated....ie: drinking and driving. Public school has over time de-emphasized testing for marks based on project completion. This is unfortunately very true. Judges have a habit of making case law that’s compliant but contradictory to the intent of the law. Case in point...Canada has a horrific child support system based on income tables and a very flawed formula that’s been officially acknowledged but remains unchanged in the last 25 years. The tables flat out acknowledged the formula produces grossly indulgent and damaging/unfair amounts for any income used above $150k, and dictate that alternate and more reasonable…

The tide is turning with the legal system although there is still a lot of “men are inherently evil” judges out there still. A big problem though is men who don’t force the issue. You’re owed child support but you didn’t use the full weight of the system to enforce it? That just tells her and all her friends it’s okay not to pay. They wanted these laws 30 years ago when it benefited them. Okay, now that these laws are starting to benefit men, DO NOT let them off the hook

This. Men have zero reproductive rights beyond not having sex. If men could legally disavow the child prior to birth (so called legal abortion) you would see the pregnancy rate plummet. Except that never happens. Ever. Dads are put in jail all the time for failure to pay. Every single jurisdiction has an agency whose sole job is to enforce payment. Not a single one has anybody who enforces access.

Not only is it not a secret, but at least once a year some poor guy who's crushed by the system suck-starts a 12 gauge and makes the news. The stories and commentary after is always "the system is horrific and broken" but after a week or so everyone just goes back to the status quo.

Here it is.... Shared custody 9 Where a spouse exercises a right of access to, or has physical custody of, a child for not less than 40 per cent of the time over the course of a year, the amount of the child support order must be determined by taking into account (a) the amounts set out in the applicable tables for each of the spouses; (b) the increased costs of shared custody arrangements;and (c) the conditions, means, needs and other circumstances of each spouse and of any child for whom suppo…

Keep in mind they’re victims of the Disney fantasy too. They haven’t unplugged yet, they truly believe in the BP fantasy. So in their eyes, you really are missing out. One other mistake they make is in their heads, commitment, marriage, etc...is purely about the romance, completely separate from the horrific legal liabilities it imposes, and with that (flawed) viewpoint, again not being in a relationship makes no sense.

Yeah, I did too, and that’s how the guidelines are written and that’s how it’s supposed to work, except there’s one sentence in there that basically gives judges free rein. It’s been appealed to the Supreme Court and lost. The reason is that single line. The judge can apply just about any amount on you regardless of access and it fails at appeal because the judge didn’t make an error in law. That is the same. Funny thing though about Canada is Alimony isn't such a big deal, it's supposed to be based on a requirement to provide while the other spouse gains "self sufficiency" although in practice, 10 years of marriage seems to be the cut off for cash for life. On the other hand, "Child Support" is horrifically over weighed here. Way, way past any reasonable amount needed to support the children including kicking in for mortgage/utilities/etc.....that most women don't need to fight for…

This. Not entirely true, common law does not have the same rights as marriage in any Canadian province. There’s no immediate assumption of 50/50 asset split, single name assets do not become marital assets. The only legal recourse is “unjust enrichment”. For example, if I own a home under my name and a wife moves in, she immediately owns 50%. In common law that house remains mine. She can sue with an argument that she helped pay the mortgage and so leaving the asset entirely with me is “unjust enrichm…

Clearly you're "right". Reference Diosdado v Diosdado - California where the infidelity clause was struck down as non-binding as it interfered with the public policy of no-fault divorce. If you want to gamble on a prenup holding up, go ahead, I'll stick to the idea that they're flimsy at best. In fact, all a person needs to do is provide a doubt that they fulling understood the terms and what they were signing away vs. what's protected in law to have the whole thing invalidated. The principle is…

This is not wildly false. Basic tenent of law, you cannot sign away your rights. If you live in a jurisdiction with no fault divorce, you cannot legally bind someone to a fault based contract. That doesn’t mean lawyers won’t write one up for you, just except it to be worthless. It’s not just family law, it’s all law.

I don’t know that I agree, for two reasons. One, if you’re not expecting her to ask that, it can take a while to process. Alimony is wage slavery, full stop. At a minimum, I would support LIMITED Alimony designed to support the lower wage earner to obtain self-sustainability. You divorce, okay, entitled to a max of 4 years support, more than enough time to re-train/educate/obtain work and support yourself like an actual adult. Cash for life alimony is morally and ethically disgusting.

I'm not sure why you'd think that. I've read it wasn't scheduled to be added for a year, so you might be right, but photos of the collapse show pretty clearly where the cables are supposed to attach to the main bridge, and they aren't insubstantial. The bridge as installed make it look quite clear that the load would be transferred from the main deck. Either way, someone's losing their job from this.

Okay, we don't have to stoop to the level of blaming the collapse on feminism, that's not what caused it. We're more intelligent than that and can rely on real arguments beyond saying "see, women can't do anything right!". The main culprit seems to be an installation failure. The finished bridge design has a cable stayed central pillar. That's not installed yet. This is what happens when you're not allowed to hit people in the face. Men (at least used to) don't do this crap because as kids, when we break the social contract and pull shit like this, eventually you get punched in the face. You then learn getting punched in the face hurts, so you're less likely to break the social contract. Not that I'm supporting violence, but this experiment with zero-tolerance seems to be failing.

Tricky to say. I had an aunt sell her place in Toronto, freestanding 2 story house maybe 70 years old on a smaller lot (maybe 40 x 80ft) in the late 1980's for mid/upper $200's. Everyone we knew was in shock how "inflated" the Toronto market was. Today, that $200+k barely would buy the driveway. Timing the market is a suckers game. If you need a place to live and like home ownership, buy in and treat it like your house, not your investment.

To be fair, this chick is just operating on learned behaviour. She's probably been in this situation before and learned she needs to set the tone / nip it in the bud at the start. That this guy had no interest (or played it cool) doesn't invalidate her actions, and honestly, I thought she acted firmly and on aggregate, correctly.

Ready to be depressed? I'm going on 3 years of trying to get a divorce. The couch surfing is because I'm running out of cash because I keep paying a mortgage on a house I haven't lived in for 3 years because my lawyer (correctly) says it makes me look better in court. The twat refuses to move or list the house, insisting I sell it to her for about $150K less than market value because, reasons. It kind of does. Learn from my mistakes, I bought into NAWALT and married my Unicorn, who currently lives in a 2,900 sq ft new construction house on a premium lot in a premium neighbourhood that my name is still on the deed and I still pay for. Never, ever, marry. There are no unicorns.

By that logic, if he's drunk, he can't consent either. What happens when two non-consenting adults have mutually non-consenting relations? Are both of them tried for rape? Related follow up question, if she's drunk and drives in a car, is she guilty of DUI? I mean, this logic states an inebriated person is not responsible for their inebriated choices.

I doubt that would work, most judges would immediately see it as an attempt to hide assets. If it survived a court challenge, she would still be entitled to 1/2 the growth in value of the shares of the LLC. Apparently you can have some luck with putting all your assets in an irrevocable trust, but then there's been some pissed off women that have managed to have these disallowed as well.

This. Also, and this is extremely important to understand - You cannot contract away your basic rights. Ever. For example, in Ontario, Canada, say you own your own house, just in your name, pre-marriage. You get married and know that if you move her into your house, it becomes the "matrimonial home" and she owns half of it immediately. To avoid this, you draft a prenup that states she understands it was solely your house and in a divorce, she has no claim to it. Well, the law entitles her to hal…

This, right here, is what's behind the massive divorce rate. Women through voting have had laws created where she continues to enjoy the resources of the man, enforced by the state, while completely discarding him. At that point she doesn't care what he does, she has legally mandated access to his resources for life.

There's a super easy way for society to fix this issue. As it stands, some random from 15 years ago can show up out of the blue with child in tow and have a slam dunk paternity case for 15 years back child support by proving through DNA it's your kid. To a degree I agree with this (although there should be a reasonable limit of a few years for back child support). Somehow, the reverse isn't true. You know what's a fun game....try this next time some chick is clearly annoyed/pissed/upset. Ask them what's wrong. When they say "nothing, I'm fine.", simply say "okay. I thought you were annoyed but guess I was wrong" and go about your business. Not only will it drive the girl up the fucking wall (because you're not playing their head game) which is fun by itself, but you'll enjoy your day much more than trying to pry out of them whatever bullshit they're upset with.

Part of the problem (a VERY large part) is the women have bought into the same Disney lies as men. Worse, they suffer social judgement if they can't nail the guy down. After 14 years in, and just a shade under 8 years married with great communication and not a single hint of unhappiness, I caught her cheating. That was a force fed red pill for certain. Now I'm going into my 3rd year trying to divorce the cunt who still lives in our brand new house with my kids while I live like a poor college kid (making a 6 figure salary). I'm sorry, this shit only continues to happen because the guy keeps paying. I realize what I say next is harder done than said, but he would have been smart at the start to set up offshore trusts, then start moving as much of his money as possible out of country. He'd have to be quick but stealthy. Once he has what he can get out (including mortgaging property vs selling), hop a plane on "vacation", abandon what's left and take the loss.

The way it works in Canada is based on a formula to calculate a net child support payment. Lets say you put salaries into the formula, you'd get something like: Dad = $1,500 in support (if Mom has full custody) Mom = $1,000 in support (if Dad has full custody) So, if they share custody, then Dad would still pay Mom $500 a month. There's some reasoning behind this, but that doesn't really make it fair. The only thing that's saving me is my ex and I make very similar salaries, so the net differenc…

Currently being sued by my soon-to-be-ex-wife for exactly that. Known as imputed income and if she's capable of getting a judge to agree, my child support payment will equal about 60% of my take home salary. The reason it's in place is to keep the odd person from trying to game the system by giving up their medical practice to become a Walmart greeter. Unfortunately, judges and ex-wives use the provision to kick the teeth out of anyone for the horrible crime of not making enough money.

Used to be able to use Trusts to avoid this by placing the estate into a trust with the wife as the beneficiary but the principle reverting to the kids on her death. That article was horribly written. It's almost shaming the judge for not simply agreeing with the accused statement of facts. Being an asshole rebel and everything that entails is hot to women when the guy is 20 and "playing by his own rules", but just looks like a burnout/loser at 37. The same chick chasing the "nice guy" in her 30's is actually turned off by the over-the-hill jerk, but secretly-ish still super attracted to the 20 year old rebel-without-a-cause.

So fun fact, I can think of at least 3 guys who paid for their wife to get fake titties just to have her leave as soon as she healed, sticking him with the bill.

I've come to think it's simple evolutionary psychology. Females value reputation and public perception above everything else. They have to lie to themselves and others about real motives because it's instinct to protect that reputation.

I don't think he meant that overly literally. It's a valid point though, if you tell the friend, you need to be ready for him to misdirect his anger at you. The bigger gamble though is if you don't tell the friend, and later he finds out she was messaging you, what then?

Happens post pregnancy. The boobies swell but then deflate. By the end, they're like two fried eggs nailed to the wall. Luckily, they can be rebuilt for about $10K.

I met a chick in her late 30's, divorced (she left), 2 kids, very fit but definitely hit the wall. She straight up told me she expected there to be more "quality" guys to date after leaving her husband. All I could think of in my head was basically this comment.

So, I respect and commend your actions, however it's a massive risk and readers should understand this. If she went the other way and decided it was game on for divorce, that move would have = you're fucked. Her lawyer would say the move out as a volunteer abandonment of the matrimonial home and children, and the judge would agree. Right there you've lost a lot of moral high ground that's so important in front of a judge. I'm happy it worked out for you, I just wanted to point out the gamble was…

Been through the same thing. Together 14 years, I had pages of cell phone bills showing massive texting and phone calls to another married man (her co-worker). I asked my ex a few times to fess up and be honest. I went as far as to say something like "What if I told you I have the phone records right here? If you've ever needed to be honest with me, now's the time. Have you been calling and texting [insert name]?" She looked me right in the eyes and said "I swear I haven't been." That's when I t…

Marriage was designed for when you married at 16 - 18 years old, and died at 35. So, what, 17 total years. About what it took for you to raise kids to get married and do the same. Today, we marry at 30 and hope it lasts till death at, what, 75? That's 45 years together. That's fucking insane.

Talked with an airline doctor....he shakes his head, has senior pilots making $280K a year at age 65 unable to retire because they're paying their ex-wives. His advice to me was "if you ever want to hope of retiring, NEVER get married again". Amazing. Could someone please explain how this is fair or morally right?

Very true point.....most people that use easily easily try-and-fail are probably seeking attention, or in a more PC way to put it, "crying out for help" I will say the guy that took the 12 gauge to his face, it was pretty awful to see. You feel bad for the guy, there's no coming back from that.

I'm not convinced the wife didn't do it. She manages to get the saw running, attacks him, beats herself a few times with the blunt end of the hatchet, then calls the cops. I mean, the cops got there after everything went down. A guy would really want to check out to voluntarily use a chainsaw.

Creating the same injuries but with a manual buck saw might be worse.

Umm, I met a guy that took a 12 gauge under the chin and "missed". Blew his face entirely off but lived. I'm pretty sure that wasn't just for attention.

Use 10 minute email. It gives you a legitimate email to use for signing up for stuff but deletes itself after 10 minutes. Great for getting a throw away email account.

"Mansplaining" is a sexist term. Point that out every time. When they try to defend the concept, point out there's already a word for the behaviour they're describing - "Patronizing" Ask why they can't use proper language and need to revert to sexist words. You'll still lose, but you'd be surprised at the number of silent head nods that little argument gets.

It is heartbreaking. Stay strong though, the only thing you can do is be the best dad you can be. My ex pulled a similar stunt last night. She has the kids, but Halloween is a co-parenting event. I showed up and started taking the kids trick or treating. She got a message on her phone and disappeared at her first opportunity. Me, I couldn't care, in fact it made the trick or treating a better experience for myself. The only thing that makes me rage and see red is seeing the kids hurt and not und…

Okay, lots of back and forth about status vs. looks. First, who cares? Looks? Status? Stature? Smell? The point is "fuck it, I'm deciding to go my own way". Second (assuming you care), lets look at this....if "status" is the #1 attractor, why is the news always full of stories of women attached to high value men cheating with the "pool boy"?? If looks (or height, or fitness, or....) aren't important, have you ever seen a low status hot guy? They don't exist, the same way low status hot women don…

I don't know if it's smart to play elitist like that. Yes, TRP is filled with apparent douche-bro's more concerned with picking up randoms than actually understanding how women act, but at it's core TRP is more than that. At it's core is the same philosophy as MGTOW less the "GTOW" part. Are they playing with fire? Sure. That doesn't make them bad though. Most of the douche-bro's though aren't even close to being true TRP. They really are more PUA than anything. Mens Rights aren't to be scorned …
