You gotta let go of her, you gotta fight like hell for your kid. Good luck brother

Well she only makes like $5k more a year, so really pretty even. Unfortunately she is financially very irresponsible and even though her job offers a 401k she never set it up. She has like $15k in retirement savings from a past job at age 40.

If we didn’t have to coparent a kid for the next 10 years, I would but I don’t want to make that harder than it is. She is in school where she says she will more than double her salary when she graduates, guess who is gonna get a surprise filing then

But she doesn’t even owe is the crazy thing! I owe her so much money she gets to buy the whole house off me at a crazy discount but because money is coming out of her account she’s not smart enough to understand what a win she is getting

I have 50/50, she woulda owed me like $100 a month but I waived it. I’m really not trying to fight with this woman

Don’t fucking do it man. It WILL get better. I was there, I picked my firearm and how I was gonna do it. I’m so glad I didn’t. It took time but now I’m on the other side and feeling better than when I was married.

Yes, and I think she’s realizing the emotional affair, while comforting, won’t last long term. He’s 12 years younger and makes $13/hr…

Yeah the financial reality of being a single income household is really hitting her, I know that’s part of it. The irony is she told me she was divorcing me because I was holding her back from all the vacations and home upgrades she wants because I’m too cheap. (My parents gave us the down payment for our house and the car she drives)

Oh I’m not over her. I’m still very much grieving my family and past life. But I made it out of the debilitating can’t eat can’t sleep cry period to where I feel like a human again. I’ve just been through other breaks ups in my life that dragged on way too long and learned my lesson

She says no, but she’s got a work friend who is taking my kid to the zoo and parks and shit

Lawyer said it was fine. We already agreed to full 50/50 parenting so no question of abandonment and temp order gave her exclusive use of house, she’s still gonna have to pay me out equity for it

Yeah I’m not caving. Going back to how things were is all I want but I know it can’t ever go back to that. I could never feel trust that she wasn’t cooking up something secretly

Mine hasn’t even lost that much weight. Unfortunately though they are really pushing this med on all of America and I think it’s gonna be plentiful and eventually cheap and the whole country will just be doing maintenance doses of it.

If it was like a grown man like whatever but now I’m being replaced by a child who lives with his parents and makes $13/hr I just don’t get it

Oh yeah, I mean I told her we’re separated I don’t even care what she does. I’m more upset that she’s got this weird 25 year old that would date a chubby 40 year old mother that I know nothing about around my kid. We had to do a court required “children in between” course which said you should wait at least a year to introduce a new partner to children after the divorce and she made it negative 3 months before the divorce to have someone playing step dad

Oh believe me I have a lawyer, and have been mostly grey rocking. Last week she said she wanted to reconcile and I told her she was insane.

How is it being used against you? My lawyer said it wouldn’t really matter if I moved out, but I don’t really care if she keeps the house(as long as she buys me out)

I guess I shouldn’t be too upset cause I’m getting screwed but not that bad. Wife and I both work, make around the same money, but I saved for retirement and have a pension and she has no retirement and spent it all on daily Amazon boxes instead. So I guess I get to keep my retirement in exchange for giving ger the equity in the house. Doesn’t seem fair her assets she can cash in immediately and mine I have to wait 25 years…

Yeah I didn’t ask him, my 8 year old is just really bad at keeping secrets especially if you tell him it’s a secret

Stbxw also a night shift nurse, my son just told me “mommy said not to tell you BLANK came to the park with us” BLANK is a male coworker like 15 years her junior…

Yeah, that’s one of the things I really struggle with. I borrowed a lot against my inheritance to provide all the things she wanted: house, new car etc and then she just stole it all and the courts supported the theft. Also glp-1 related.

Kind of the opposite, my wife pushed me for a vasectomy and then initiated divorce a couple months after I relented to it.

My wife did exact same thing. When I confront her about saying she wanted an easy fair split but her lawyer is trying to gauge me for every last penny I just get the “I’m just a smol bean, I can’t help what my lawyer does”

I’ve been doing a lot of exercise. Luckily have stopped myself from putting my fist through any walls, but sometimes I just have to grab and axe and go chop a tree down for no real reason

I knew that we disagreed on finance stuff(I’m a save for retirement, she’s a go into debt to fund our lifestyle) but generally thought we had a good marriage. Took like six months of being on a glp-1 for her to decide to dissolve the family. She hasn’t even lost that much weight!

I know this is really rough, but I would kill to just have to worry about dogs and broken leases. Be thankful there’s no mortgage and kids to unwind. Trite advice but just focus on yourself and your health, you’ll be ok in time.

Mine told me she wanted to do this, then she hired a lawyer, then she got PISSED when I hired a lawyer. Just hire one, pro se agreements can get messed up.

Well I picked my lawyer and had the consultation, she told me to come back once I have the paperwork and we’ll go from there but there wasn’t much more to do until we know what terms they’re asking.

I’m still waiting to be served with the papers, I’m just going off what she said to me and trying to figure this out before I talk to my lawyer. I know I should just wait for them, but I’m stewing on it and it’s making me more pissed the more I stew. I’ve been at the job 10 years and married 7 of those, but still 15-25 years away from drawing payments from it.

But half of what? It doesn’t have a dollar amount. Or do I pay out a share of it 25 years from now when I start collecting?

Good point. Something I forgot to mention, she talked about doing it pro se, then she hired a lawyer. When I told her I had a consultation with a lawyer she got PISSED. I guess she thinks it’s ok for her to be legally represented but not for me.

I’m pretty sure if it. She says no, and I’ve got no evidence. But even if she wasn’t cheating, she’s got some kind of prospect waiting on the bench. My guess is she doesn’t want me to know until after the amicable divorce is settled

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
