I don't believe the availability of artificial alternatives justified the disparity between straight men and everyone else.

Then why aren't gay men having less sex as well? They experience sexuality in the same way that straight men do.

Rich men are the group most likely to cheat, and I would assume the same would apply to men who are physically attractive.

Creativity is more so the result of innate personality rather than choice. Of the men that have the potential to be creative, they'll show it at a very young age. And even amongst massively creative people, art isn't just an alternative to genuine connection. Creative people like to create for the sake of creating. They also like to connect and be accepted by others just like everyone else.

2

Again, how do you expect me to respond to blatant snark?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 11:57 AM
1

It's arrogant because it presumes flaw onto a demographic of people who did not ask for advice. As I said before, people who wear baggy jeans are a demographic, not a person. And the person who made the comment was responding to my original comment, therefore directly to me, not to the OP. You can point out flawed logic without being an asshole. You're smart so it would be remarkably easy for you if you just tried.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 11:45 AM

It was more so being passive-aggressive but whatever

1

What do you think that you accomplish by insulting me?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 11:03 AM

People with baggy jeans are a demographic, not a person. They are not asking for anything. The OP is asking a question but then goes on to criticize common advice that he sees around this sub and I decided to chime in. I'm not saying the OP was disinterested in advice but he certainly was disinterested in the cliche advice offered to men, often built on generalizations.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 10:30 AM
1

Because it's an arrogant assumption. People who wear baggy jeans aren't asking for advice on how to be attractive, nor are they complaining about anything. Imagine if I said "Small tits are ugly so girls should get plastic surgery". Were small titted women asking for that advice? No. Mostly because they are a demographic and not a person but you understand what I mean.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 09:53 AM

How am I expected to respond to this? "No you are the one arguing with voices in your head!!!" What exactly was absurd about my statement?

What exactly have I done or said that would signal to you that I have a big ego? And I never downvoted you btw.

I disagree with the assumption that my ego is out of control.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 09:22 AM
1

You provided no advice, and from what I can tell you just like insulting people who disagree with you. You're in the business of lazily insulting people and calling it advice. It's passive-aggressiveness disguised as altruism and it's not conducive to any sort of discussion.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 09:07 AM
1

All you're doing in this post is making me out to be a villain. Yes, I have an ego. Everyone does. I'm not going to pretend that I'm an angel who can do no harm to strangers on the internet, yet at the same time I've only argued in good faith so far. I've done absolutely nothing to offend you besides having a differing option and expressing it calmly. Also I like how you make debating out to be some nefarious act like it's not tought in schools.

The majority of men aren't in this thread, in this sub, on Reddit, or on any other platform. Personally, as a guy who almost exclusively has guy friends, I don't see many guys who openly complain about women. And the ones who do tend to be guys who don't struggle with women. But the guys I associate with are not the majority of the male population either. I just say that to point out that your perception of the majority may be flawed.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 08:49 AM
1

Nobody is in trouble. The average man has 3-5 sex partners so they are at a bare minimum attractive to 3-5 women.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 08:41 AM
3

Where are you getting this info?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 08:38 AM
3

Nobody is complaining that women don't find them attractive. We're talking about a proverbial majority of men. I never at any point denied that how you dress will impact how people perceive you.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 08:38 AM
1

I like arguing, and I absolutely do want to be right. Half the point of having an opinion is the ego rush of righteousness. Everybody who has opinions likes to feel right. I don't understand who exactly this advice helps though, because the "problem" is how the majority of men dress. If most men dress sloppily then "sloppy" looses its meaning as a word. And it's also an extremely elitist statement, which I mentioned in a couple of my posts.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 08:32 AM
1

I don't know better than anybody, and I don't take the advice. I just don't think the advice is very helpful, as it attempts to solve what I consider to be a non-problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 08:19 AM
1

"Sloppy" means not meeting your country club's dress code, I get it. So after repeating myself three times now, you still haven't understood the definition of well-fitted as it's used when giving advice. You wouldn't have to repeat yourself if you asked more questions than you made quips.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 07:50 AM
2

What more you can do is relative to what you can and are willing to do. What you can and are willing to do is relative to the cost and benefit of the options presented to you. Given their options, more men are going to choose cheap unfitted clothes over more expensive fitted clothes, because the fitted clothes don't provide anything that can't be achieved with unfitted clothes. It's basic economics, and why so many men are sloppy to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 07:38 AM
2

Have you considered that some people just like baggy jeans? Wether it's for comfort or aesthetic preference?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 07:10 AM
2

I'm saying that your definition has no practical value if you can draw the intended results with cheap, unfitted clothes. "To get compliments", or more accurately, to be perceived well is the intent of dressing "well". Assuming you aren't dressing purely for your own aesthetic satisfaction.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 07:03 AM
1

Well then what's the value of having well-fitted clothes? By your own omission it doesn't necessarily make you more attractive so I can only come to the conclusion it's just some weird expression of classism.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 06:47 AM
2

The issue of discussion is ever fluctuating. The disagreement was this: P1 — Most men don't know what well-fitted even is; they don't wear clothes that are custom-fitted to them. P2 — You can wear cheap clothes that aren't custom-fitted and still be well-dressed. Now we have a problem, because we fundamentally disagree on what "well-fitted" means and what it's value is.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 06:36 AM
1

If the intent is to look good, and you can achieve that with cheap clothes that aren't custom or "well-fitted", then what's the point?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 06:26 AM
1

I buy $10 shirts at Burlington and still get complimented for the way I dress bruh
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 06:17 AM
6

It's not just a matter of doing what I want if I don't even have the option to do otherwise. Secondly, are you saying that you can't be well-dressed if you don't have a custom-fitted wardrobe? If so, then you are on some serious country club level bullshit.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 05:50 AM
2

I'm not made like that to be buying custom-fitted clothes, and I would assume the majority of men aren't either.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/20 05:35 AM

You start off talking about sexless men then go on to talk about married men. The lazy entitled male caricature you described doesn't struggle with getting sex on average so I don't understand what's being proven.

The only guys who I know that say "looks don't matter" are the scam dating coaches. Even the "nerd gets girl" trope acknowledges how much looks matter, hence why it's an achievement for the nerd to get the girl. If it wasn't so unlikely it wouldn't be a beloved trope.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/20 04:31 PM
2

Is there any one way in which love is portrayed in male-written fiction?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/20 04:14 PM
2

People in actuality spend a remarkably small amount of time dating in comparison to everything else in their life. Work, school, friends, family, hobbies, and other social responsibilities are just as big motivators in life. Spending more time grooming yourself in order to get laid is not really a virtuous act.

I'm saying that it's manipulative and objectifying, and I don't agree with it. I said what I said because I don't like seeing women set themselves up to be hurt.

Mainly the people who get off on being dominant are men.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/20 10:37 PM
6

That's because there's the dominance element in sex; he can do whatever he wants because he can find another woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/20 10:31 PM
13

As a general rule, men can make a much stronger distinction between sex and love than women. Hence why people who have sex then ghost are usually men, and I would also suspect it's partially why women are overwhelmingly unsatisfied with hookups.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/20 10:11 PM

I'm a virgin so they wouldn't be talking about me, although I still think that it's objectifying.

I don't understand why there are so many women who believe that the men they hookup with respect them. I wonder what their reaction to locker-room talk would be.

Thinking that way is strategically useful, but I don't see relationships or love like a game of chess. I think the people who do see the world that way are sad and cynical.

Exciting is the antonym of dull, which you did use. You can see what the world looks like through your phone, it's only a preference to certain people to actually go to those places. D&D players don't feel the need to justify to themselves or others why they like to play D&D, and they don't shame others for not playing either.

"Travel" means rich white Americans going to tourist resorts to gawk at poor brown people, take pictures of buildings built by poor brown people, eat food cooked by poor brown people, and play with animals tamed by poor brown people, just so they can post pictures on their IG or Facebook. "It's so beautiful here!!" the American stereotype said as she sipped from her hydro flask. It's not an enlightening experience, it's just a hobby, and a hobby that's practiced under a false pretense of persona…

People find it disrespectful to have a backup barber so why tf would it be okay to setup an out plan for someone who is supposedly the one? And if it's not the one why do you have to have backup guys? They're just other guys lol. Women like this blend the worst aspects of both traditionalism and sex positivity.

It's not a new concept, nor is the concept being explored with any real rigor; it's literally just the same thing repackaged with different value judgements. You don't like women "exploring their sexuality" so you call it "riding the cock carousel". You don't like women "settling down with providers" so you call it "alpha fucks beta bucks". And there are most definitely latent cucks in TRP community – you don't spend your free time thinking about attractive men fucking women you aren't if you do…

Except they aren't novel concepts. I jokingly compared their purpose to bulls in the cuck community, alternatively it would be HVM in the FDS community, but in real life people tend to call them players or just hot guys. All of these terms fundamentally mean the same thing but they're all so very different.

It's not important but I have an interest in language; hot men have existed forever, and people have prescribed euphemisms and such on them forever, but "chads" are the first type of hot men to be analyzed down to the literal cm by a specific group of people.

The overwhelming majority of english speakers don't use the word, and if they do it's usually to mock incels. This "language change" only exists in a very small corner of the internet. On the other hand people use fuckboy and player regularly.

If chads we're just players then terpers would refer to them as such, but instead they religiously use this term unironically. As apposed to player, chad has the implication of perfection and divinity. And no normal person uses the phrase "objectively attractive".

High quality post. The fact is a large share of folk wisdom around relationships tends to be untrue. But I do wonder if promiscuous women not being capable of LTRs is due to just being promiscuous or if it's the result of something else related to being promiscuous; upbringing, personality, culture, religiosity, mental health, education, socioeconomic status.

• I doubt that the majority of MGTOW are incels when a lot of them are divorcees or had experienced an abusive relationship(s) in the past. You can deny their claims but that's not a productive way to conduct oneself in a debate space. • Of course there are incels who use the philosophy as a cop-out, but this is a reality for every philosophical/political group: -A lot of Feminists are women with white savior complexes and penis envy. -A lot of Christian traditionalists hide behind the idea of s…

People say all sorts of things they don't really mean; this doesn't mean that people are lying it just that they are bad at introspection. A girl says she likes guys who're X, but you're X and she isn't dating you, she's dating someone else who is [seemingly] A. If you asked that guy why he had her and you didn't he would probably say it's because he is X and you are A. Each person's perspective is as equally biased and false as the other.

I think it partially stems from a misunderstanding about how relationships work: • If someone rejects me it must be because I don't have X, Y, and Z. I must be a bad, unattractive person. • If I have X, Y, and Z then surely I shouldn't have been rejected, it's that the person who rejected me has bad taste, is a whore/douchebag, etc. I don't think this is a male exclusive phenomenon but I think men tend to be more outspoken about their frustration. [one of my comments from another sub but i think…
