50 percent Just getting divorced doesn't mean that either you lost the kids or that you got screwed over. That's what I want supported. How many of those divorces are amicable? How many end in equal custody? Etc etc. get married would report that they're in love That's quite the assumption. I would say a significant-enough part of marriages are oops pregnancy induced to say that isn't valid. It's also quite the assumption that divorce == no love left. Again. definition of love By all means, give…

These questions are intellectually dishonest. LOL, I actually rolled my eyes there. It was like midnight, and I was rambling. The second paragraph is where I realized what you were getting at. often Source. Where is the stats on how many divorces end in alimony? I'm not pretending anything, and thanks for 'being dishonest' there; you appear to have this Disneyesque definition of love where if your breath doesn't catch when you think about someone it isn't love. Bull. There are all kinds of love,…

You're drawing a distinction between "loving someone but leaving them" and "not loving someone" -- I think that's a distinction without a difference. How the crap can you not draw a distinction there? Do you still live with your parents? Do ya still love them? I assume no and yes? If I divorce someone, get half their stuff, and take their kids I don't think that can be considered "love" in any realistic sense. .... Oh. Dude, jaded much there...? Okay, in the world where every single divorce ends…

Unconditional love is maybe like a mother and child; there is no rational reason other than she carried the child. Love between adults has much more rationality to it, imo - as I said I think of it as a build up of positive associations with a person. Loving without reservation then is loving someone even when they make mistakes / 'lose frame' / lose status, or what have you. The love TRP likes to throw around is completely conditional - I was trying to distinguish from that end, but it's also n…

I did not say unconditional, I said "actual"; ie love that isn't just for your status or money. I would not say I believe in love at first sight or goofy shit like that. More like a bond that develops over shared experiences. With that in mind, you simply cannot prove that that kind of love does not exist, the same way you can't disprove God or the spaghetti monster. To prove it does exist, all you need to do is find one case where it does; in my experience, I have seen that case. Ergo, I know i…

The word "incapable" is the only word that matters. It is an insult, because people are capable of loving without reservation. Which also answers the next point - where is the proof that that is reality? Children can be logical. Double sigh. Children are incapable of cause and effect, and taking responsibility for their actions. If you are as a child, the only thing that would save you from this is logic - if you do not have it, you are again as a child is. If you were blamed for something, you …

Sigh. And everything else that article says? In the same respect that women cannot appreciate the sacrifices men are expected to make in order to facilitate their imperatives, women can’t actualize how a man would have himself loved by her. Men are the romantics forced to be the realists, while women are the realists using romanticisms to effect their imperatives (hypergamy). Our girlfriends, our wives, daughters and even our mothers are all incapable of this idealized love. a woman’s love is co…

That isn't what he's being told. Him being told what you've said would sound like "Men have unrealistic expectations of love", not "Women are utterly incapable of loving a man in the way that a man expects to be loved." This has the connotation of the man's expectations being perfectly fine, with the woman being the one at fault... As with most advice from TRP, it has an inherent anti-women slant. I'm saying none of the parts you've quoted say that women are horrible. And I said if you seriously…

That is an excellent argument to why evo psych is nonsense in general. TRP is the thing hailing evo psych as legit, I don't personally assign it that level of credence.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/15 02:43 PM

That is not the point. The agreed upon accepted standard is sidebar is TRP. Whether or not you personally agree with or use each part is not a concern, as I'm not debating your interpretation of TRP, I'm debating the philosophy itself. That's why I say the stuff on the bar is valid for subwoofers. .... If you seriously think those quotes aren't attempting to paint all women in a negative light, you have drunk the koolaid. Happily, just finished another post about this. "Women are utterly incapable of loving a man in the way that a man expects to be loved." "At first it may seem like an assault against your good senses to think of adult women as mere children or teenagers. Ok, off work and can get back into serious stuff. Lying to suit your purposes is on the sidebar. Thus, it's TRP. I wasn't saying those things were gaslighting, I said they share a common core, which is the willingness to lie for your own benefit at the expense of another. It's a heuristic ... It's not meant to be an absolute statement Is TRP not the concise guide to getting the wimmens? And yet, what appears to be a major part of it (the reminder that women aren't without sin) is some floppy neb…

I don't think you read me correctly. In the metaphor, the subwoofers and the shark face are the sketchy bits. No one was saying anything about TRP being the only solution - what was being said was that the bits which are the solution (the body of the plane) do not justify saying the surround sound is necessary. The first line was only me responding to your metaphor. IE to prove a plane flies - that's an incorrect extension of what I was saying, as what I was saying was more along the lines of th…

Links on BP regularly get that many upvotes, though.. That's only business as usual. There's one on the FP right now at 120, and another at 202. For comparison, the top link for all time on BP was only three months ago, at almost 900.

Um? I disagree that it's because she's a woman, I'd say an attractive X has an easier time than an unattractive X. It seems like this is also your view, but it looks like you switch to a gender dependent hypothetical at the end... Could you clarify?

Is it actually they / a core of TRP, or just a common sentiment? I'm not sure how abortion law plays into one's sexual strategy, so it seems kind of off. The poly compass poll showed a good amount of TRP was more conservative, so I was wondering if it's just political overflow.

Damn, we were just talking about this in that other thread. What I said there, which is a general observation: Hypothetical aside, I agree with the thought - I would say it's piss poor parenting leading to entitled and / or misinformed children (both genders) which then lead to societal problems. Parenting is so overbearing and hand-holding these days it's ridiculous. [God I sound like an old fart] In Illinois, for example, it's illegal leave your child home alone until they are 14. Yeah, women can be shitty, same as men... personally my problem is the message is usually all women are shitty. I try not to comment on the 'women can do no wrong' thing, as it's just alien to me. I can't imagine believing that, nor can I imagine anyone saying it... Which, now that I'm thinking about it, is probably also why I'm dismissive of the AWALT concept. Hmm. "Anger phasers" do need to relax a bit, I would agree... getting angry doesn't help their progress after all.

Gaslighting isn't called out specifically normally, no. However, things like lie when it's convenient, keep her guessing, dread, are common. It's just different trappings on the same core idea. Answer please. Awalt is always true. And perfectly defensible. As soon as everyone decides on a single definition for AWALT, then I'd be willing to hear defenses for it. I guess? I've not read DE or seen original RP (didn't know that was a thing), so I will take your word for it. What? Which things are we counting as anathema to self-improvement? Because while I didn't directly state that women aren't inherently liars or disloyal, for instance, it seems clear that I am disagreeing with those thoughts in the post waayyy up there.

No, I'm frustrated [kind of a strong word] that it apparently takes a scapegoat of an entire gender to get people to realize they have problems. The world is unfair. Life is unfair. That is no more the doing of women than it is men. You take incorrectly. I want people in general to have some self-awareness, and some self-value, and I don't see why the demonization of women as a whole is a necessary part of that. You can have an incorrect opinion. :| It's not about being shamed, it's about being logically reasonable, at least in PPD. AWALT is inherently an indefensible statement. See my reply to Xenmas. Look around, many people are lazy and fat, TRP brings motivation. What kind of person are you, when you need to demonize an entire group of people for you to work on your own problems? Women are disloyal, dishonest, act like children, don't take responsibility - these are not about the improvement of the individual. It's about giving a target to project negative feelings on to ('anger phase'). The problem is that crap is still there once the guy has really started to improve himself, and now it'…

That's exactly what I said, dude. Most BPer's / antireds will generally say TRP tactics work on some women. By saying 'all women' it's a fallacy, yes. Using MWALT now the debate is "what type of woman?", instead of what we have, which is "this is bullshit on every level, why the frig do you guys believe this, you're so out of touch." Poor framing of that argument, and variable usage among TRP members, has led to much of the disagreement I've seen about the subject.

Trp is the only place that tells you that it is ok to work on yourself. That the one doesn't exist. Normally you hear: nah don't work out, with the right girl everything will work out. While I don't agree, bigger fish to fry. Trp gives you the tools to make it work out with nearly every girl. See my discussion above. Bullshit, dude. Nearly every girl includes the lesbians, the married women, the nuns, the asexuals, the hyper religious, and on and on and on. AWALT Out of curiosity, do you guys re…

Just for you, I went and tried to find it again - tah da. Like I said, no one was singing praises, but the thoughts were pretty uniformly "Clam the f*** down, man." [That, and the support was still 'let's make fun of them' colored. But the thought is there.]

Nah nah nah, see, that's only legit if I claim this configuration of parts that make a plane is the only way to make it fly. That's what he was doing here, and that's often what is done on TRP (Betas don't get 'good' women, women all do X, and you need to consider all of these X things for your 'game' to work). Instead, what I was saying was maybe you only need the engines, wings, and fuselage, and you don't need the subwoofers or the shark face paint job.

Yes, I am, and I have asked RPer's for this data. They don't have it. They will usually produce some news coverage of an article and call it a day, which is crappy sourcing, and on further digging it's normally an incorrect account. Journalists aren't scientists, after all... As I said in my first post, if someone had produced some legit data I would be a lot less skeptical. The CDC reports the average partner count for women at around 3.6 IIRC. They report the male count to be 7ish, again IIRC.…

warped views :| Don't feel like getting into that, so ditto. But I am noting my protest. This then goes back to what I originally said - if you're claiming that this works on het women, for arguments' sake I'll even go with "most", where is the actual proof? "Most" hetero women are not bar hopping, or on dating sites, or what have you. To claim "most" by definition you have to include some married women, as >50% of women are married.

The only actual way of 'doing something' would be to get a sub banned, and I'm pretty sure BP came out in support of TRP for the most part when the Fattening happened. [Support meaning they didn't think TRP was harassing people; looks like the post got axed over on TBP.] The only way this post makes sense is if you think BP posters believe they are 'doing something' to erode TRP by debating, to which I LOL. The closest you get to 'doing something' is the person saying they are trying to sway und…

No, dude, I understood it perfectly. TRP does not make this qualifier explicitly, and in fact it is not made in the sidebar material at all, which has been stated to be the center of TRP by TRPers. I would point out that evo psyche, which is the basis of a lot of the tenets, should be equally applicable to all women. I am not going to take an unstated assumption over a logical conclusion. EDIT - blanket upvote to balance. WTF guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/15 02:41 AM

I did read the context. For what you say here to be true, one would have to assume married women / lesbians were not any of bodacious, demure, etc. Your context was talking about breeds of women, and women as a whole in society; that does not seem like a statement specific to single heteros.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/15 01:53 AM

No, the point is that those bits work without the other, sketchy as shit bits. That isn't TRP working. To say TRP works, you would have to prove that every tenet given on the sidebar, at the least, is CRITICAL to the success of the enterprise, and without every part it would fail. You're taking those tiny bits, which TRP stole from everyone else ever, and using it to claim all the rest of the stuff is legit. It's a fallacy. In the 'Is this guy attractive?' game, (Redpill == False) does not mean (Exact Opposite of Redpill == True). Additionally, what you mentioned are the bits of advice that most BPer's / antired folks agree on, and are not TRP exclusive.

Sigh. I'm under the impression that plates usually know they are plates / they aren't SOs, so I assume not. That is rarely how the argument is presented, and it's not how you presented it above. You said "whatever the fuck else category" - that includes lesbians and happily married women, by any rational interpretation, does it not? This is my problem with the statement. The marriage number is not surprising considering the culture. Marry young, have 2.5 kids, everything will work out with the power of love - celebrity starter marriages - as a culture, we simply do not give much credence to marriage. …

I'm not having an argument with you here any more than I was in the other thread. No, I know the guy was emotionally distant because I met him / saw them interact. specific breed of woman molded RP beliefs, it's more like RP being reactionary to what women ,as a whole, in modern society behave like This is the main tenet of TRP that I have never seen proven to any reasonable degree. 50% of women stay in their first marriage, a small percent are lesbians. General response about how I can't be arsed to "Aren't you worried that it'll be hard to find a boyfriend that way?" BAM, it's come up. Anecdotes are anecdotes, who are you, or anyone else, to say if my experience is right or not? Irrelevant, in either case. Close enough to BP that I'll take a shot. It's simple - because of the 'average nice girls' I know, I doubt any stay with someone who treated them according to the TRP playbook. Having plates? Dread gaming? Emotionally distant? Gaslighting? No freakin' way. So, to begin, my experience is different from apparently >90% of TRP. Oh, no disagreement there. It counted me as liberal economically and that's a load of crap. But even if we just mentally move the responses to the right, TBP posters were still more 'liberal' on average than TRP posters. Additionally, just looking through this sub generally you use BP posters taking more liberal stances, and TBP itself is heavily liberal ime, so we do have a less scientific check for the data.

Probably something along the lines of being forced to occupy the same space multiple times for extended periods. Were we talking about miners, or were we talking about prostitutes? I find it revealing, and infuriating, that TRPer's hate it when everyone paints them with the same brush and then does the same thing, while moving the goalposts at the same time. :|

I would say no. If you want to go out for coffee or meet up somewhere, I'm not going to automatically assume you're trying for sex. If I did I would have 0 guy friends. As for thoughts, I think this is the major reason behind the 'friend zone' dynamic... he goes in thinking he's trying for sexy times and she goes in thinking he's a cool dude and a good friend. When the mutually exclusive assumptions clash (when he tries to escalate later) there are problems.

I would agree. Definitely not trying to cast stones, especially when a lot of this is lizard-brain level stuff... it's not anyone's fault, nor is it bad.

Tbh I'm pretty confident this is the cause of at least half of the crap that goes down in this sub. Another third is taken up by irreconcilable assumptions / 'self-evident' truths, and the remaining part is a combination of different standards of evidence, incorrectly interpreted science, and general assholery, on both sides on all counts. I've seen what constitutes reasonable is also subjective and dependent on how much it benefits the person deciding what is or isn't reasonable Agreed. At leas…

The initial attraction that relationships usually start with isn't a conscious process. Humans are most comfortable with things that are familiar to them. Generally white men / women see more white people than minorities, so they are more comfortable with them -> find them more attractive. There is an additional confounding factor of the cultural standard of beauty - Italian guys don't have this problem, do they? Because they are culturally thought of as attractive. And now it gets bloody... Yea…

I only have one literalism award to give out, so just take a look at the one I already gave you, okay? That aside I'm not going to get into a fight about something this stupid. Stop treating women like children. etc etc etc I didn't even touch on this. I was only pointing out that your literal usage of the word 'forced' is quite different from most people's usage.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/15 09:18 PM
6

And the literalism award goes to you, sir. Is someone forcing said woman into prostitution at gunpoint? Probably not. Is she choosing between starving and hooking? Probably. That's what most people mean when they say someone was 'forced' into something. Just because the threat isn't immediate (gun) doesn't mean it isn't there at all (starvation). I agree with you on a technical level - no, it's not forcible. However, on a practical level, it's pretty much the same thing; do this or die.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/15 08:48 PM

It's pretty specific - underhanded or deceptive. Of course we still have different thresholds of the same, so it comes down to what would a reasonable person assume (legally speaking - there is a 'reasonable person' argument in law. Not saying you are not reasonable!) This definition is plenty broad enough to cover things like makeup if you could convince people it's deceptive.

Couple of key points: It can be applied correctly (I disagree, but for the sake of argument) - meaning that there is a chance that it won't be. When you have an angry 19 year old do you think he's applying it correctly? The assumption in this post is that dread makes people feel wanted. This is not necessarily true, nor do I think the stated uses of dread qualify as such. It makes people feel uncertain, which causes them to overcompensate in an attempt to keep their routines / environment intact…

Except it's NOT a definition of manipulation. It's the tools a manipulator uses to keep the victim in check. From I presume the same wiki page you got this from, the actual definition of manipulation: Psychological manipulation is a type of social influence that aims to change the perception or behavior of others through underhanded, deceptive, or abusive tactics This is also from Harriet Braiker's book. Dread game neatly falls into this.

Well, I don't know. How is it manipulative to wear make up? After all, the man controls his reaction, doesn't he? Same with push-up bras, it's not women's fault that men are controlled so easily by the 'small' brain! Point being, this isn't valid. There are cognitive short-circuits that all humans have, and uncertainty / fear is one of them. It doesn't have anything to do with rationality and it isn't a conscious response. The woman doesn't control it any more than a male controls his reaction t…

This doesn't have anything to do with what /u/GridReXX said. Even if this hypothetical woman ended up with a TRPer, that doesn't change the situation from his perspective. No, it wasn't. The lizard brain doesn't care about harming other members of the species, at most it cares about the members of your group. The lizard brain just wants sex. The lizard brain will happily rape the women of an enemy's tribe to have more offspring, and this has been shown to be true throughout history. Whether or not the lizard brain actually recognizes what 'prison' is is also up for debate. Unless you were already incarcerated, it's a theoretical concept that the lizard brain doesn…

I will agree, as I have read this somewhere, but damned if I could actually find the source. The gender pay gap isn't that astounding 74:100 ratio when it's corrected for experience / field / job title / seniority, ie when it's a very fair comparison. The 'gap' when you correct for all of these things is somewhere around a 94:100 ratio - most of the places I've seen attribute this much smaller difference to negotiation differences. But, it's still there - the crap the gov't has put out to fix the gap doesn't address that at all, though, so eye roll directed at the gov't. 'Fixing' the 74…

I did. If a 'biological clock' is some mystical barrier after which it's harder to have kids, the decreasing fertility (though slight) does fit that bill. From the first - “We’re talking about a slow exponential decline,” said Ford. “Older men will still father children but on average it will take them longer to do it.” This guy, one of the authors of the study, is clearly trying to communicate that while there's a decrease in fertility it's not a huge deal. This article in general is pretty tame. In the second one, the author is still not trying to overplay the stats - she quoted the article. Everything after that first section is less doomsaying…

The studies themselves aren't "feminist"... It's the people taking that increase of 0.003% [or whatever it is] and crying bloody murder that we're talking about. At most the authors themselves will usually recommend more studies, or to have children younger to 'minimize' risk - they aren't manning the ramparts trying to scare people into getting married. I'm just going to add to what's already been said here - first, mirroring/mimicry happens between all people, regardless of gender. It's a subconscious process that tries to impress the other person by you changing your mannerisms to match theirs. It isn't only restricted to speech - it also can effect your posture and facial expressions. The response to mimicry is also subconscious. Sure, I'd agree with that. I remember reading that there's some support for 'group' evolution, that is the sacrifice of individuals for the well-being of a group. But IDK if that's officially accepted, I haven't looked into it in years. But logically, on the face of it, it makes some sense. It doesn't do an individual any good to survive if the species dies as a result! [Depending on your outlook, anyway.]

Gay men are what's wrong with all men. Misogynist, self-centered, a little autistic. Wow. Because they are attracted to other men they are misogynist, self-centered, and autistic? Based on what? Are lesbians all feminist, altruistic geniuses then? How about heterosexuals, or pansexuals?

Seeing as Lemon probably checked out, as I would have... No, "any gay man" would not have found it offensive. The studies being thrown around are from the 70's-80's. It was a very different culture then - being 'gay' meant you were a black sheep in society, and you likely ended up with other black sheep. Those black sheep would have been the druggie deviants with other baggage. What they also did was sleep around. A lot. If you're in that kind of environment it simply rubs off on you... it's a v…

However , no woman would take seriously an unattractive douchebag , because douchebaggery is not what women are attracted to . This is a great point. If women really liked being treated poorly, logically all relationships would have the same shitty mechanisms. After all, it's beneficial to the male partner, and if the woman goes for it why not?

It's almost like it was consensual right up until the alpha's fee fees got hurt, there. It's almost like only one person is actually a victim at that point, too. Notice this law doesn't fucking require ex's return all the nudes they have of their partner - THAT would be nanny state. "Oh, you changed your mind about AlphaFux001 having your nudes? Ironically, TRP isn't very judgemental of RPers Oh, not on the part of TRP - I'm referring to women's reaction to 'false alphas'. That's what I thought TRP generally accepted, that women don't respond well when they can tell it's being faked. No, you have to put the work in to be the best man you can be. Fake it until you make it, is a way of achieving liftoff before you're earned your pilot's license. Alright. I'm not about to claim to be an expert in TRP, so I'll take your word for it. Apologi…

Seriously, how can we know a person's thoughts?... I can't read minds. YMMV. I'm under the impression it's a RP belief that 'false alphas' are disliked. That's why you have to put in all the work to be a 'real alpha'. It's not reading minds, it's simply a feeling people get when they can tell they are being snowballed. Facial cues, body language, etc. Just like you can't read a person's mind to tell if they are lying, but people have differing levels of skill picking out liars.

Fake in this case would be acting in a way that is not consistent with a person's actual thoughts. Fake would be a person just swallowing the pill, for instance; 'False Alphas'. The thoughts haven't internalized yet - at that point I would say it becomes real.

See the thread from not too long ago about what kind of physique BP women like. ..... Are you saying you think RPer's are as adept at having fake personalities as sociopaths are?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/15 09:37 PM
1

Agreed. That's kind of what I'm getting at. Sociopaths are very adept at not only playing a part, but switching roles when needed. The question then is how can one of those roles (their outward behavior) be their personality? I would think it can't be. The only thing I'm trying to establish here is whether personality is more innate or it's only what you present to the outside.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/15 09:22 PM

Either [personality = what you present to the world] is true, in all cases, or it is not. If it isn't, drawing a distinction between 'face' personality and 'true' personality is valid. In regards to this, sociopaths simply happen to be a convenient case where a natural experiment is occurring, as we know unquestionably that there many cases where sociopaths are acting in ways that are not natural to them. I don't think I'd take their word for how the authors interpreted the first study - 'agreeableness' is NOT equal to 'niceness'. A perfectly agreeable person would be a doormat, which is commonly accepted by both BP and RP as being bad for relationships. That makes sense. I tracked this down - you have to scroll to Table 1 to see internet users / world. It's kind of old and not the primary source, but the page it links to is dead. Even then, the difference is rarely more than ~6% - the variation ITT is higher even when considering only internet users. I suppose the conclusion would be a much higher than usual incidence of IN's in TRP than usual. But then again, that data is kind of old - my quick Google didn't find anything more recent, though.
