THANK YOU. This is exactly what I came here to say. This idiot is basing all of his LoGiCaL DaTa AnALiSys on online dating habits, completely ignoring the fact that OLD platforms aren't representative. Men swipe on everything, women are choosy, and everyone on OLD is desperate. Here in reality a person's 'market value' isn't determined by one photo of them. People actually, literally, have more dimensions to them.

I'd rather never have sex again than go back on BC. It gave me horrible mood swings, depression, didn't alleviate my debilitating cramps, and worst of all it completely destroyed my libido. Imagine taking BC to have sex and then not ever being turned on. It drove me crazy. Never ever again.

This is wild. I'm so glad she didn't give him anything. It really is mind-blowing the lengths he went to for the scam. How could he chill and party while having to keep I don't know how many stories straight and several fake relationships where he's a different person in each? Like just get a job 😂

You're absolutely right. I really had a hard time with the beginning of the documentary because of all the red flags but the rest of the story is such a powerful eye-opener full of queen moves from the women. They were brave and open and incredibly smart in how they figured everything out and what they did for other women. They saved plenty of women from the same fate and this documentary alone will help so many more. I actually recommend the watch now.

IIRC Lundy Bancroft wrote in "Why Does He do That?" that the number one sign that a man will become physically abusive is if he uses physical intimidation during arguments. Does he get in your face? Tower over you? Poke/push/grab you? Grab your face? These actions are almost a sure sign because they show that he is willing to physically scare you into submission. When I read this it really stood out to me because the monster I was seeing always used physical intimidation during arguments and he …

This episode was absolutely incredible! And as much as it goes against FDS general principle, having a male authority on abuse actually helps more women understand what's happening in the face of patriarchy. Some women really need a scientific male voice. I ended up sending this episode to many of my friends who really enjoyed it and have previously not been FDS inclined. I think it opened their eyes to gendered relationship dynamics. But if I'm understanding correctly, will the second episode o…

Honestly it's so freeing not to have to fit into a unifrom. It's really good that you already have a good sense of what you like and don't like. Trends don't matter, they'll be out of style by the time they land in your closet. What matters is you feeling comfortable and powerful and yourself.

The ladies already gave a lot of great recommendations. I'd like to add that it's worth sitting down and taking a look at your body type, style inclinations, skin color palette, and what you'd actually wear regularly. Put together a mood board or two. Collect inspiration pictures. It will help you get a feel for what you like. When you start shopping for a new wardrobe, go slowly. Don't buy everything at once because it will still take you time to figure out what you like. Chances are, you won't…

Honestly, I think we're too harsh to make fun of them because one, making light of the situation in this way is a great coping mechanism for them. Two, exposing the guy is incredibly useful. And lastly, they're showing other girls that trash behavior is common. So it's not their fault if they're mistreated and they're right to dump the scrote.

This is so important. An abusive ex destroyed my support system by gushing to all my friends about how much he loved me and how he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Only to go home and cheat on me and gaslight me. When I reached out for support, they didn't believe me because "he loves you so much". When we broke up, after years together, he said he never imagined a future with me 🙃. Never again will I introduce a man to my friends before thorough vetting.

His angry/guilt-tripping response set off alarm bells for me. This is not someone who can take accountability. He knowingly didn't text you until it was too late. The entitlement of him expecting you to have dropped everything and be waiting is a huge red flag, too. Don't feel guilty, you did right to leave and to block. This is really important! I noticed that the men around me are constantly talking about investing and giving each other advice while the women know nothing about it. It's a huge advantage they have long-term. Long term investment will at least save your money from depreciation, if not increase its value. Even if you're not sure where to start, just start. Read and ask for advice along the way.

I wanted you to expand on the toxicity of being "undesirable". The idea that we aren't catering to men in our looks or behavior anymore. We're not spending time and money and energy making ourselves pretty and sexy so that some scrotes can ogle at us and fantasize about us in their porn-sick minds. On another note: I agree with all the toxic traits already mentioned, but I wanted to add that I no longer look up to successful and attractive men. Whenever I'm made to chose between characteristics of my personality I automatically get suspicious. Which of the 5 love languages do you use? Are you introverted or extroverted? Are you goal-oriented or relations oriented? Are you logical or emotional? Maybe I'm a complex human being and these questions make no sense detached from all situations and reality. Maybe a person responds differently to different situations.

On top of that why would a 'recovered' alcoholic tell a first date they started drinking again? He was definitely testing your boundaries and trying to see how much shit you'd put up with. Media has conditioned us to think that harassment is positive and that if a guy tries enough times, you should give him a chance. Your distinction is really important because it's hard to draw a line between the two for many women. I think for me the main differences are that in healthy pursuit, it is always obvious to the man that you are also interested. There aren't any negatives, no's, or rejections of him as a person. With harassment, it is clear to any sane person that you do not want it. …

This word really changed my life, too. I realized that I didn't have good boundaries differentiating myself and my boundaries from others. Once I realized that I was internalizing everything I started to call it out for myself. So now if something bad happens around me and I start to punish myself for it, I'll try to remind myself to externalize my negative emotion towards whatever (or whomever) is actually causing the problem.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/05/21 07:35 AM
2

They sound really toxic, good on you for moving on. That's another problem. It's not just emotional invalidation, the severity of the situation is invalidated once you forgive because "see? Even you don't think it's a big deal. You forgave them!".
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/04/21 04:57 PM
2

Absolutely this! It's also toxic positivity that others commenters are talking about. I've been pushed to forgive abuse because 'he apologized' and 'I have to move on'. When I - reasonably - didn't get over it, he would get mad because I'm 'holding on to the past' and 'being resentful'. In the end I realized that I don't forgive any of it and I never have to. It's so liberating. Being forced to forgive someone, especially someone who never even truly apologized or tried to correct his behavior, …

In the past I had always squirmed and wilted under any gaze that seemed too admiring. I once literally broke up with a guy for seeming to like me too much. But this time, for the first time, I understood that what I’d always thought of as equal emotional investment was actually desperately skewed. I’ve never sent a man a pie, granted, but I have knitted scarves, bought lingerie, left notes, cleaned apartments, done crafts, given zillions of backrubs. I just wrote a comment about this. The other responses are right, there is a biological difference in size and strength due to how much fat we carry and testosterone. But you're right, too. Young girls are often fed less because of sexist attitudes and the idea that they don't need it as much as the boys. This widens the gap of the difference. You'll find that in countries with less sexism there is a smaller height difference between men and women than in more sexist countries.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/04/21 05:31 AM
22

I also just read about how in more misogynistic societies the height difference between men and women is larger. This is because of nutrition. In all patriarchal and misogynistic societies you'll find that men and boys are encouraged to eat more and are served more meat and protein while the women and girls' diets are restricted from a young age. This causes developmental issues and so they don't grow to their full potential. I'm from a misogynistic culture and I see it all around me. Even my gr…

It also means that they can go after women in their 20s? Which is still gross but hides the pedo intentions better? But no, they want the youngest they can possibly get. As depraved as they can get.

It also shows that they know the difference between saying women, girls, or females. They know what they mean and how they sound when they call us females or girls, it's a neg.

There's a really good book about it that can help you heal: Complex PTSD from surviving to thriving by Pete Walker. You need to get out because while you feel like you can handle it now, the accumulated damage will make it harder to heal in the future. Start healing before abuse becomes your norm.

🟢 An important green flag for me is that they remember things about you. It shows that they are good listeners and that they care. Some people are horrible listeners and just want to talk. Others listen a lot but don't actually pay attention (I'm trying to fix this in myself). It makes me so happy when people remember tiny details about me and and casually drop them in conversation or account for them in our activities.

That all of their stories are with some woman, indicating that they're a serial monogamist. Also, if I've been with a guy long enough that he knows everyone in my life and I need to tell a story involving an ex, I'll just say his name. It feels weird trying to hide it like he who shall not be named. We're all adults, I feel like it shouldn't be weird.

I used to think being dominant in sex meant that the person took charge, with consent, and was bossy but still loving. Their purpose is to relieve the submissive of the burden of leading or making decisions. I thought it came from a place of caring for the submissive. I'm so done letting anyone (LVM, society, pickmes, or otherwise) suppress my anger. Women have a million reasons to be angry and we should express that anger and let it fuel us. We've spent far too long suppressing it and taking it out on ourselves.

Guys like this are just trying to get you to replace their mothers. He's an emotional mess because he ex0ects you to manage his emotions and baby him, he's incompetent because he expects you to manage his life, and he wants you to be insecure and dependent on his love so that you never leave. Honestly feels like these NVM have a fetish for this mommy-son role play. They want to be children forever protected from adulthood by a doting helicopter mom. But they also get sex? 🤢

Your feelings will pass, it is your actions that'll affect your life in the long run. Sit with your feelings and process them, but don't let them control what you do. It's normal to be sad and want him back, but you're strong enough to keep him out because you know that it's what's best for you. ❤️

I've been mostly a lurker, but the benefit I've gained from just reading the opinions and advice of women here has made such a huge difference in my life. I left a NVM and have been leveling up in so many ways and being a part of FDS keeps me motivated. I hope that the women who lurk continue to benefit themselves even if they don't have the time or courage to participate.

Somehow they always think it's abrupt and "don't see it coming". Somehow they can't fathom us leaving. Part of it is mommy issues and feeling entitled to being coddled by us forever without reciprocation. After you leave, block, and delete they become incredibly attached and it's the most ridiculous thing. They really don't realize their mistakes until no contact. No amount of cOmMuNiCatInG or arguing or "tricks" will ever get through like The Block.

Yes and they don't cheat because omg this woman is so hot I really want her. They cheat for validation. Like you said, ego. They get a huge ego boost thinking of themselves as a womanizer. They have fragile egos and need constant external validation from women wanting them and men wanting to be them.

Had an ex who would get really sad if I said no to sex or even if I wasn't super enthusiastic. He'd say "you're not attracted to me anymore." "You don't like me" and get upset for days after. He'd pretend he's so insecure so that I would feel bad for rejecting him and think twice before rejecting him in the future. It worked for a while. Very very manipulative.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/03/21 07:29 AM

Absolutely this. Sometimes you have to physically get away to be able to escape them. This is especially true for abusive relationships where they tend to hoover you back in. Break up, leave, go no contact.

This is such an interesting analysis. Your life is wild! I loved that you named the 'linger'. You're absolutely right about it and men doing it when they feel intimidated by you. Dogs will always reciprocate your love times 10! When we put others before us we tell them and ourselves that we're less important and less worthy, but when you make yourself a priority you respect yourself and end up feeling amazing about yourself because now you and everyone else know your worth.

Yeah because they think there must be something wrong with you to stay. You must be cheating, too.

I read a quote yesterday that said "Women live longer because they're not really living". It hit me really hard because I realized that it's true. We live for others and we live really carefully. We are capable of doing everything ourselves so why don't we start prioritising ourselves and coloring outside the lines?

What in the world. I have no words. I thought a huge problem was men leaving during illness, turns out we can't even trust the ones that stay through illness. I'm so glad you made this miraculous recovery and the trash took itself out. Hopefully your life is much better now 💕

I'm trying to get to where you are! Do you feel like people treat you differently because of it?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/08/20 07:02 AM

Definitely! I'm also considering the mentality behind it. Maybe I wouldn't complain at the restaurant but I'd have to shift my thinking away from an "I'm wrong and they're right" mentality.

You can give the benefit of the doubt and still stand up to them. You can just ask them to check in more often. If they keep failing to check in then they don't deserve the benefit of the doubt anymore and you can be more assertive.

Yeah and that's absolutely true, especially when you're talking about bosses. What I meant here is the other extreme, like a co-worker making an unnecessary comment about your weight for example or belittling your work. Being a complete pushover at work is a good way to be used and disrespected.

What the actual fuck. The news report in the OP article is so watered down. They definitely knew what they were doing.

Yes! The language bothers me so much. "What he says he likes" it's like we're talking about mannequins not human beings. And the way it's stated in the meme implies that we're to respect and strive to be like Zendaya (little makeup, cute, more modest) and less like the other woman who is clearly being shamed here for showing skin, having more makeup, and the way she chose to dress. It is pitting women against each other with misogyny and pandering to the male gaze. It's a clear example of the Ma…

Yess! He couldn't even talk to her. The only conversation they had before getting married is him asking her if she likes dogs or cats. Apparently hating cats is the only thing they have in common and that plus her good looks means she's the one.

Oh yeah, talking about your culture all the time. Another way is if he doesn't know anything about your culture but asks you about it all the time. Some curiosity is normal and healthy but if he's asking more questions about your culture than you as person, then he's probably getting off on it.

Her name is Yasmine which is Arabic for Jasmine and the note is signed Jasmin. I think she pulled an FDS and bought this for herself.

FDS is all about your happiness and success. If that involves a man, it should be a HVM. If not, even better. I'm also childfree and I think it saves me a lot of pain and stress long term. What's more critical is how you choose to live when you do want children. I see a lot of women worried about timeline and "the wall" because they want kids and they end up settling. When you don't want kids it doesn't matter when or if you ever end up in a LTR or married.

It sounds to me like an arbitrary boundary that makes him feel moral. That's how I've heard it used before i.e. "my ex and I would fight... But I never hit her" as in, he's abusive in other ways (maybe he shoved her, maybe it's all mental and emotional abuse). If a man has to clarify that he doesn't hit, run.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/05/20 01:00 PM

In my experience when you say "I know" they look all offended like you must be really arrogant. It's because they're not saying it sincerely, they're saying it with the assumption that you're insecure and their words are like a gift to you to lift you up and give you that magical confidence you didn't know you needed. So you should be grateful to them and not dismissive.

I just saw this yesterday! They have several other trope videos. "The cool girl" trope video is excellent, too. It really says a lot that these female character tropes are created by men to dictate how women should or shouldn't be. I feel like we were all affected by watching these characters growing up and it helped shape our personalities and our view of other women.
