You were the one asking for an explanation. This is one of the best, we have. Of course everything involving human behavior is notoriously hard to study, considering, for example, the ethical hurdles. Women working more day to day is something you can observe in tribal societies - whether this is explained with duty as motivation in women vs opportunity as motivation in men I don't know with certainty and I don't know about the most recent research.

When you control for the kind of occupation and the work hours, the difference becomes about half a percent. At least it was like that a couple of years ago. I'm not aware of any recent numbers.

That would simply not be stable, because being a nurse is easier than being an NFL player and more people can do it. You'd have to force people to be NFL players and select few lucky nurses. It's one of the problems with a planned economy.

That is completely wrong. The problem was not that the "punch" was weak, the problem is that the swing was very obvious. The bouncer did a weak punch, but that was enough, because it connected and he didn't open himself up to a counter attack.
