This is actually a pretty common thing. Companies are very much pressured to have a diverse group of workers, to the point where they don't hire white people (Since they're usually the majority). I'm sure there's plenty of people here who have applied for a job, got denied that job because they were trying to be diverse, and depending on the job, may have just been told flat-out they're not hiring white people.
