I understand what you mean, I really do. The original "Karen" meme was exactly that: Entitled, mostly white, middle aged women who are condescending and patronizing. Often they're even racist. I didn't have a problem with that at all - I was actually glad condescending and racist behavior was being called out. But the meaning has shifted in the past few years, and Karen is now being used for any kind of woman who speaks up, that includes speaking up against misogyny or not taking mistreatment by…

That's what I don't understand either. Asking if someone wants to be friends is totally okay (and so is declining it), but asking them out on another date at the same time just doesn't make any sense. Super weird.

I don't quite understand this, though. I know there are men who get off on oral sex being a 'dominant' act for guys. The good old if-she-doesn't-gag-its-not-good, including grabbing her hair, forcing her head down or shoving his d*ck into her. I find that disgusting. But there's also oral sex without any grabbing, forcing or dominating aspects, which, imo, should be the norm. Not to sound corny, but, without going too much into detail, it can be reciprocal, loving pleasure. Maybe I just don't qu…

I didn't even know you can have both ASD and ADHD at the same time! I always thought they were mutually exclusive and often misdiagnosed as one or the other for some reason, but you never stop learning! Fellow Aspie here, btw! :)

I literally just talked to my boyfriend about how I feel like Cavill would be a douchebag and I wouldn't like him at all. Now I read this, surprise surprise. Just the fact that he dated a 18 year (she was still one month away from her 19th birthday!) old when he was 32 alone is terrible. The Me-Too comment just sells it. I don't know why, but I feel like that - just by looking at someone's face - you can take a pretty good and accurate guess about their personality. I feel like that's why I can …

Some look good, of course they do, but I personally don't really see much of a difference. I feel like a lot of women are romanticizing and idealizing homosexual men. They hold the assumption that "all gay men practice skincare, are soft and total allies to women", even though those are obviously just stereotypes. Stereotypes that do apply sometimes, but definitely not to the majority of gay men. Looking through the linked subreddit I immediately came across a dozen of examples that FDS would he…

That comment is a joke. On my first reddit account I tried to help quite a bunch of people with their questions on that subreddit, and I never had had any issue until I replied to a post by a user worried about being addicted to porn. A mod replied to my comment in a very unfriendly way, asking me for sources, and I - naive as I was - provided some, thinking it'd be fine to post links to websites and articles about porn addiction and did it. Immediately got banned for it since links to "sex nega…

It's so sad in my opinion. As if phone GAMES aren't video games just because some annoying whiny gamers have decided that if it's not a triple A game for manly men (TM) it doesn't count and should be ridiculed. They would have shamed the hell out of the roots of video games nowadays.

I bet "controlling what they can and can't use to release dopamine is a form of mind control and abuse" suddenly becomes an issue as well if his partner decides to have sex with another man to "release dopamine". Alas, he can't say anything, since it is abuse if he tried to control what she uses to release dopamine.

It's just so funny to me - so, SO many guys I know just don't have any hobbies outside of games and netflix. It's insane - I was legitimately surprised when I met a guy who is very passionate about space and keeps up with all kinds of scientific news about it. Not to say that women don't do the same. There are definitely a bunch of women out there whose hobbies are something along the lines of 'shopping and netflix'. But what is so interesting about it is that this seems to mostly affect ONE spe…

Not supporting every bad decision a woman makes does not equal being unsupportive of women. If you want to truly support the people around you, you don't let them hurt themselves - or other people. I can't say anything else. Your statement is extremely vague.

I don't quite understand though - it was you who sent the gif, right? The animation itself does imply seduction and a kind of 'come closer to me' motion - that is definitely what they were going for (not surprising for old-timey female characters, unfortunately). I know how easy it is for men to turn anything into something sexual - I had a guy do that after I had said 'I watch wrestling sometimes'. But in all honesty, I think even I would have thought that the gif would imply seduction or somet…

I feel like people don't understand that you are very well able to appreciate dark humor but draw the line at disgustingly insensitive jokes. For me, dark humor touches on iffy subjects, but does not cross the line of perpetuating harmful stereotypes and more 'accepted' crimes. I can laugh about jokes like 'how can you make a dog meow' (which involves freezing it and using a chainsaw) or 'why do cannibals eat clowns'. You know why? I love MBTI, but using a super imprecise questionnaire for it - and an online one at that - without ANY previous experience with the Myers-Briggs system or cognitive functions? It will never work, lol. That's the exact same reason why people come up with a new personality type every time they take a 20 minute online test. Also lol, do men really conflate MBTI types (which are GENERAL TYPES) with having an interesting personality/interests/hobbies? (For me, the results of the two personality test…

Did someone PM her already? I wouldn't even want to advertise FDS, I'd just like to let her know that she did not overreact in the slightest - that guy's behavior is legitimately HORRIBLE, and she didn't do anything wrong (other than not leaving right away, because she shouldn't let ANY man disrespect her like that 💔). I feel so bad for her, I know how much those things can get you down, especially with a history of anxiety and depression.

I still feel bad for her in a way, but I do agree, I think she's being delusional about it. I hate it when patriarchy and toxic masculinity bites men in the ass and instead of realising that, hey, maybe they should DO something about that, they just turn it into a competition of "who has it worse" (spoiler alert: women) and do exactly Z E R O.

Just a disclaimer, if you have combination and oily skin, the gel cream version can cause breakouts. I have mixed skin - my skin was definitely very hydrated when I was still using it, but also extremely oily, and that didn't go well. I read up on it on the internet and found a lot of people with the same experience (all had combination of oily skin) so I stared using the aqua gel instead. Works very well, but might not be too great for people with sensitive skin since it is not perfume free.

...the second I read the title redhead women came to mind. Lo and behold... I don't know what it is, but almost all of my exes are into redheads. It seems to be an internet-guy- thing? I dunno. I used to be really insecure when there were redheaded women present, automatically thinking "welp, there's my boyfriend's preference". Hey, fellow Aspie here! I never had much trouble finding a partner, but that was partially due to pickmeisha- and doormat-tendencies that I've since left behind. Another big, more positive, advantage is the fact that I've "manually" learned how to read facial expressions and people's tone of voice. Nowadays I'm even better at reading those clues than NTs, simply because I can't and don't do it based on intuition, but rather knowledge and conscious effort. I'm similar when it comes to empathy. (Oh, I think you quoted the wrong post) If we'd subject them to the same arbitrary beauty standards as women (make-up, shaving body hair, no-fat-allowed, form-fitting clothes) nobody would call them monkeys in comparison. I think art history is a wonderful reflection of just how arbitrary this whole "the naturally beautiful sex" thinking is. That dobby image actually made me laugh, oh my god. I really don't like the "you're beautiful, soft, pose like a goddess" talk though. Women are not inherently more "soft/fair/beautiful" or whatnot. We're not 'the more aesthetic' sex. That idea only comes from the sexualization and objectification of women under the patriarchy. I'd prefer if we wouldn't echo the same things that lead to unrealistic standards and some sort of idea about a 'mythic woman'.

Yeah, I agree! It doesn't necessarily bother me if people like the show, and I can definitely confirm that (especially due to its extreme popularity) both HVM and LVM/NVM watch it. But that doesn't change the fact that the men who actually watch it and love it FOR the rape, incest, nudity, etc. definitely qualify as LVM. That's what you can read from both their expressions and the way they addressed it being a "no-no". Sorry, but if he can only hold an erection for 20-30 seconds then it's more than likely that he's just pornsick. The possibility of a 23-year old having an ED caused by physical issues rather than porn is close to zero. The not-being-able-to-finish-by-hand-or-oral is a big indicator for death grip, by the way (basically desensitisation of the penis, mostly caused by extremely fast motions and lack of lubrication during masturbation). Not always, but VERY often, goes hand in hand with porn usage.…

I'm going to be completely honest - I can't see the difference between what the guys in this video said (and how they say it) and the things I hear groups of LVM say about women in public. To me it's the same 'egdy' joke about getting a woman to be your personal maid, met with the same half-assed "omg you can't just say that dude, lol" or "omg your mom would be sad" combined with laughter instead of seriously being critical of what has just been said.

Technically it's a nice idea, but practically I kind of doubt that the target audience for Amino (mostly teens and people heavily involved in fandoms) would significantly overlap with the target audience for FDS. Plus, especially with the creation of the FDS specific website, I think it'd be easier - and safer - for people to just use the website instead. As far as I know everyone can join Amino groups, no? Which would leave it once again vulnerable to brigades and trolling.

There's 16 different studies linked that confirm the negative impact of pornography use: Decreased relationship satisfaction (sexual, communication and general) and stability, less interest in sexual activity with the partner, inadequacy and low self-esteem (especially for women), sexual dysfunction, higher divorce rate and a higher infidelity rate. I can absolutely confirm this. Most men are only anti-porn because years of daily furious-deathgrip-masturbation to porn has given them erectile dysfunction. They couldn't care less about the abuse that's happening in the porn industry. They will, however, gladly use it as an argument to justify their stance, call the industry 'sexist', 'objectifying' and 'abusive'. And then turn around and call the women featured in porn wh**es. It's... sad.

That is an interesting response? Most, if not all, men I have met who are anti-porn have taken that position because their libido or dick broke. They're far from being feminist or super left-wing, but definitely not alt-right. I am aware of some right-wing anti-porn movement, but in general, those are the minority and I hardly ever interact with anyone on the right when interacting in anti-porn communities.

I hate the term "childbearing hips" so much, because it builds upon the false premise that visibly wider hips make childbirth easier, which is bs. The visible size of the upper-mid PELVIS (what we perceive as the width of the hips) doesn't affect the ease of childbirth. What matters is the size and form of the lower pelvis, one that we can NOT visibly see or feel from the outside. It's just men once again using a blatantly wrong "bIoLoGY" excuse for arbitrary female beauty standards. Sigh.

Sorry, I personally think there's nothing wrong with men wearing dresses. Absolutely. Dresses are not inherently female. To say so would bring us back to dress/pink = female, pants/blue = male. The issue I have with this article though is that the author doesn't address how it's normal for a person to find men wearing dresses odd after having been raised in the very society that hates on men for wearing 'feminine' clothing. There's a difference between having a negative gut feeling because of wh…

"I had begged her to have kids since we were 26" "Instead of becoming a real family..." "I feel I have a right to be angry that my hope of biological kids, the only kind I ever wanted, is rapidly fading away" What the FUCK. I hope this guy never has any kids. He sounds like one of the many dudes who only want kids because they think their mediocre genes are oh so important to pass on. Not because he wants to be a loving parent to an actual living human being. (Not to mention that his first thoug…

One thing I have learned over the past few years is that the feelings you have described at the beginning of this post (feeling that something is lacking, repression and stress) can't and will never be a part of a healthy relationship. Sure, not every single day will be all roses and sunshine. But if there are negative feelings tied to your relationship that last for multiple days or even weeks, something is wrong. A relationship should add value to your life and make you happy. Even beyond that…

I'd dump that loser if he'd get worked up over me ordering a salad. I LOVE salads, and if that is what I want to order? Then it's not up for debate. "You can buy a salad at the grocery store for $5 instead of spending $16 on one.", yes, you can, but the same thing also applies to whatever stupid burger or whatnot he's going to choose. Did it not occur to him that he could also get THOSE at a grocery store, readymade and all? By his logic, you shouldn't go to any kind of restaurant because you'll…

That's what I told them too, but unsurprisingly they just accused me of saying bs and "not having properly researched the issue", which is incredibly amusing to me since I've followed and engaged in this topic for years now.

I don't understand? I never said that you as the woman have to adjust to your partners habits. Not at all, on the contrary! That is exactly why I said that if you DON'T genuinely share the same lifestyle, the relationship just won't work for you. If spending a big chunk of your time at home is something that you'd have to be "okay" with, then it's out of question - you'd be unhappy in a relationship like that. But if you look at it the other way round, I would probably be unhappy with your perfe…

I personally do think that, when acting responsibly, gamers can be HVM - but only for those whose personal lifestyle matches his habits and hobbies. For me, as somebody who loves being indoors, my gamer boyfriend is an ideal match. We both spend multiple hours in front of the PC - I tend to my hobbies (drawing, researching/reading studies, a bit of gaming, organizing, helping others) while he is mostly gaming and looking at game-related stuff. He can and does actually stop playing anytime he wan…

This is so funny, I read the first few sentences and I immediately felt suspicious about this post. Took one look into the account, and apparently "Diane" is also going to marry his fiance in two weeks and decided to spam AskFeminists with that topic. Thankfully, the commenters picked up on that, too. ...why are men's troll posts so obvious?

I wouldn't say people conflate autism with being an asshole, at least not in that case? People brought it up because of the sensory processing issues, not specifically because they think he's an asshole. At least that's what I understood from reading the comments. And yes, autism isn't the only thing tied to sensory issues, but it's often one of the first things people will think about.

I feel you, I recently brought up that prostitution increases the demand for sex trafficking on a gaming page after the topic had been brought up. I got multiple replies from a young woman who was absolutely FURIOUS with me for pointing that out. In no way did I write anything rude to her or even something that is disrespectful to sex workers themselves, I only disproved some of her claims (the usual myths) and gave her some sources. She literally told me she was shaking with rage because she co…

but forget to fast forward where coming home to a person who doesn't care about you anymore feels much lonelier than coming home to an empty apartment. THIS! Absolutely this. People tend to forget that A LOT, but having a LVM/NVM in your life actually makes you feel way more lonely and terrible overall. Being alone and a bit sad about not having a caring significant other is leagues better than being with somebody who treats you like trash. Trust me ladies, you'd rather be moderately happy on yo…

Interestingly, I am and have been mainly in Discord channels for games and shows where girls are the vast majority - and all but one are free of NSFW content, and the only one that HAS a dedicated NSFW channel does not have a single porn video or picture in it. Almost as if there's a correlation, huh. But yeah, I was beyond shocked when my boyfriend told me that the big channel for his gaming guild had a NSFW section where people legitimately post porn and hentai (he never sent anything himself)…

There are legit so many things I could write down here about my current boyfriend, especially about our day-to-day experiences. I love him so, so much and he is constantly being the absolute best partner I could have ever wished for. Uhm, the reason why I brought up autism is the fact that taking things literally is one of the most common signs of an autistic disability. Things like those actually DO happen to autistic people, and they are not trying to be malicious or snarky. I have Asperger's, that's why I even brought this up. I had to work on myself and make sure not to take things so literal. Misunderstandings still happen, though, and that's why I think the only way that example could be anything other than the man int…

I mean... my current partner told me that he had had a crush on his female internet friend a while ago (in before: I was the one who had asked since I had suspected it for quite a while, he didn't just randomly hit me up with infos about his past crushes or anything) but pretty much lost interest in her (romantically) after he had seen her picture. She's not unattractive by any means, he just... wasn't attracted to her. It happens. But the fact that OP writes about having fallen 'madly in love w…

It's not a red herring, why would it be? When talking about legalizing sex work bringing up the fact that it also increases trafficking is anything but an irrelevant topic to derail the initial conversation.

I've noticed this as well. LVM/NVMs definition of "smart" isn't a woman who is able to think critically, has her own opinion and the ability to provide valuable input to a conversation. They are so self-absorbed and borderline narcissistic that they automatically assume that their own, personal point of view is the only one a "smart" person would ever hold. Because in their own heads, THEY are unquestionably right - they think of themselves as highly intelligent, and therefore see any deviation …

The problem with that is that the escalating nature of sex and acceptance of women as objects to use leads to a greater demand and therefore an increase in human trafficking. This unfortunately holds true for the large majority of countries that legalized prostitution. You can't really compare those to alcohol or weed. Not even mentioning the fact that with one you're buying your way to violate living human beings instead of just substances to consume. I know you're coming from a place of concer…

Ah, the horrible crime of taking pictures of things you find aesthetically pleasing. And even if she wants to share them, so what? Dude's sharing the video with thousands of people on the internet. I'd rather be with somebody who shares a food picture with her Facebook friends than somebody who takes a video of me enjoying something so he can complain and make strangers laugh at how 'cringy' I am.

I think you would all "love" the experiences I had with the worst partner I had ever had. He was a hardcore Gamer. It was absolutely terrible and I literally felt as if all the joy and motivation had been sucked out of my life. I don't even know where to start. His entire life revolved around games. Every waking hour he either spent gaming, watching streamers play games or reading tips/strategies about games. Hey! I'm experiencing the same thing that demisexuality describes, but as I've mentioned in the original post, the word "demiSEXUALITY" is very inaccurate in itself. Sexuality describes what kind of sex somebody is attracted to (of course, it is in the word after all), and there is only "same", "different", "both" or "none". "Demisexuality" is more of a descriptor of libido and how it only reacts in certain ways. I think that's what throws most people off.

I got downvoted on that subreddit for saying that you shouldn't call a porn actress a wh_re. Especially while stating you are only calling her one because "she is contributing to the degradation of women". I do not think it's a wonderful subreddit anymore. A lot of people, especially men, on there don't seem to genuinely care about the harm that porn contributes too, they're just angry because it broke their dick.
