They would if it was the only place women existed online. But they would get sneakier. Like, only be verbally abusive in-person.

Oh gosh yes. My dad’s 60+ and works in the trades and he was appalled when the 20 to 30-something guys he works with were bragging about taking viagra so they could “last hours” to satisfy their girlfriends. Dad was just like “guys, how can you have limp dicks at your age?! Also if it takes you hours to satisfy your wives/girlfriends, you’re doing something wrong to begin with”. Probably porn-addicts - many of them with death grip due to frequent masturbation. He told me this story and then was …

Well and their whole argument on “the women of FDS are just trying to fleece men for a free dinner”...um no. They lack the willingness to consider the perspective that maybe it’s just that men need to have more teeth in the game. We risk death, rape, pregnancy/STIs, and assault on a date and we even freaking invest in our looks to dress up for it haha! Frankly, it’s the absolute least a man could do to take 10 minutes of planning, put on a clean ironed shirt, and treat a woman to dinner who cons…

Yeah like the main arguments people pose against this subreddit just boils right down to men being afraid of women, and thus wanting to have power over them to control them. They’re terrified by even a whisper of women treating them with even half the disrespect and audacity that they themselves disdain towards women. Not that you can even compare a woman wisening up to their schemes to protect herself, to their goals of wanting to abuse and manipulate women, which is what many men have done. An…

Woah wait, is early 30s considered ‘older’ here? Damn. I guess I’m one of the group power grannies now 👵🏻. Pull up your chairs and I’ll boil the tea, gals.

I just discovered that last week and I wish I had known this for months now! 99% of the people that like me would be reported for seeking hookups.

I needed to read your comment today. Your mentor is on point - if people want to change, it’ll be obvious. I ran into an ex-friend I’ve cut out for the last 3 months the other day and he was just like (all chipper) “oh I was just thinking about texting you today!” My thoughts were: “jeez, did you not notice I haven’t spoken to you in 3 months?” It made me feel terrible but also relieved because it reminded me of how much of an asshole he is. He never texted me anyways.

Jeez that sucks. Yah, definitely not bragging as my feet are anything but dainty lol. I spent Jan-March with a broken ankle because I literally have feet too stubby for my body, frankly, and I twisted my ankle last year falling into a ditch. Just observing that the grass always seems greener on the other side of the fence - I’m jelly of you! Hope you can find the beauty in what I’m sure are wonderful feet ❤️

Many of Jimmy Stewart’s characters are HVM (he himself is like the OG king of HVM in my book), but in particular, George Bailey from It’s A Wonderful Life. He sacrifices his dreams for the woman and community he cares for, he tells Mary that he’ll lasso the moon for her, he stands up for what he believes in even when he doesn’t stand to profit from it, and when the going gets tough rather than complaining he figures he’ll kill himself to financially save his family and friends first. Every year …

Yes! I cried when I watched Game of Thrones and how Brienne of Tarth was treated. In early stages of Torbrienne I actually wrote to the show and demanded she didn’t die and possibly would end up with Tormund and skip Jamie altogether as T was this rare masculine dude who recognized her magnificence and didn’t pigeonhole her as “masculine” because of her height. Alas S8 added to the dumpsterfire as she ends up writing Jamie’s story and just gets marginalized by her weakness for his pathetic chara…

4thing this as a 5’9” gal. Directly asked if he was cool dating someone 3 inches taller, then 3 months in is sick of being teased by his friends and we split because I can’t handle his self-esteem issues and he can’t handle a bruised ego/doesn’t stand up for himself. I only date men my height or taller now.

Oh gawd yes! Actually I ran across a male acquaintance on OLD who had an ugly bathroom selfie in a suit and messaged him “what’s up with the awful bathroom selfie on your profile?” and he told me it was his most “successful” picture. He apparently couldn’t figure out how to get a friend to take a picture for him. Dear god the pickmesha standards are sooo damn low here. If there’s more men than women here, you’d think they’d try harder? Instead, it gets worse the older they are.

I had been building up to this for a while. But somehow I found myself making movie snacks and getting a birthday present for a skinny average-looking guy with genital warts and no ability to emotionally connect to women/people (he didn’t even wish me happy birthday on my own). <cue clown makeup> Switch flipped in my head when one day, completely out of the blue, he calls me a “cnt” - no man should ever call a woman this, it’s sexist and basically the “n” word towards women. I am done being the …

This is so true and I’ve never even thought about it! I have never dated more than 1-4 years older but literally when I hit 32, started getting a ton of attention from guys in their late 20s. My most recent relationships were with 28 year olds. Their hair had started to pepper for both of them whereas I have like 1-2 grey strands that just started to crop up. If I’m anything to go by, women 100% age slower than men. I’d be shocked if I ever ended up with anyone older than me now unless they had …

I dunno, I don’t see happier women in relationships vs single - the most miserable women I know tend to be in bad relationships where they’re basically a slave. Whereas the most miserable men I know are the single ones or ones whose wives are not attracted to them and don’t want to have sex with them.

Wow, this was powerful. It reminded me of an ex-friend who was physically/emotionally abusive and a message from her a year later after cutting her out offered no apologies, just a “it’s all water under the bridge” and “i miss you”. Thank god I knew better. I wrote back that I forgave her but have grown a lot and wished her the best for us to move on in separate ways. She called me a bitch and raged in response. Year later, same thing, new message. Mutual friend is like, “maybe you should reach …

What’s your take if isolation/social distancing is the norm straight through to 2022 as some predict? Is there a point where HVM will potentially need to look online to meet people? In my area quarantine is expected to be anywhere from 6 months to right to 2022. I’m in my 30s now and you know, would like to potentially not have to wait for 2 years to actually meet a decent man. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just gauge it, but I know a lot of HVM who still don’t contribute quite 50/50. Women are still carrying more of the emotional baggage/household management on the whole regardless. My dad worked long days, treated my mom like a queen, but after 4 kids she was like mentally broken for a while - he does odd jobs around the house and pays the bills, but can still only cook hot dogs and she’s still managing the entire household, which is a far greater burden IMHO. Mom: * Remembering/shopping for birt…

👏Love this! Dating men stresses me out and makes life shittier with their drama/poor communication skills. I realized the main reason (beyond sex) I did it was out of loneliness, boredom, and validation. Not from them, but from my girlfriends/women in my life. I can’t believe how many relationships I was in to validate my sense to other women - “see, I’m also a loveable, functional gal like you because someone likes me”. I got invited on more double dates and had richer bonding experiences with …

Wow, thank you so much! Yeah I suspect my friend was/is a narcissist. He’s a terrible communicator and anytime I tried to ask him about what was going on/why he’d react like “what the fuck is that”, when I’d send a funny meme, or how he’d constantly tell me I was overthinking things, rather than apologize. Dude had a sky-high ego to the point of it being ridiculous given he’s no Chris Hemsworth. I sent him a cute covid meme yesterday morning that I thought he’d appreciate, and he reacted the sam…

Awesome! 👏 Question re: #4 - what books/stuff have you read and/or tips do you have? I’ve always loved psychology but have been really bad at reading people (exes, ahem). Any advice on where to start? :) I need help. Had what I thought was a guy friend call me a c*nt today (and obv I took out the trash), but I don’t know how I manage to get to the point of things escalating to verbal abuse in friendships/dating without seeing other people’s true colours. I always try to see the best in people, o…

Love this! I’m a tall and amazonian woman and certified yoga teacher, bought my first house at 30, and just calculated my gpa for admission to a Masters in Psychology and have a 3.87/4.0 gpa in my undergrad. I have a great family - amazing, loving sisters, and my folks have been happily married my whole life - I’m also about to become an aunt (though technically I’m a boss fur-auntie right now!) :) Whole extended family is very supportive of one another. In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry. I love the tune, but the lyrics...yuk! “If her daddy’s rich, take her out for a meal. If her daddy’s poor, then do what you feel.” 😬yikes!

I get what you’re saying, I guess my feelings are, when does it become about an individual person vs a selection/group of people. I used to judge people a lot more when I was younger and more easily influenced by them, but I’ve softened on that as everything seems more grey the more I seek to understand things. What I judge now is people/situations that directly impact me and I make a judgement call to engage with that or not. Both examples you’ve used to me, I would say “wow, I really dislike t…

Oh my gosh that is awful! I’m so sorry you experienced that! I hope you and your son are in a better situation. ❤️ Yeah dad definitely has been like, after a messy breakup: “What’s the number one rule I’ve always told you...?” And he’s always right on that! I’m never going back, but in the past I made so many excuses for men: former crack dealer =/= “well, he was up-front about it, and people can change...”, = “oh sure he can stop dealing but he’ll still have the same effed up brain that got him…

Well I def have said I was the “black sheep” of my family because I’m the only single person in my family/extended family so I’m the odd woman out for holidays/dinner parties, etc. as a self-deprecating joke, so I didn’t want to speak in absolutes. I get what you’re saying though, I guess I’m just used to hearing “black sheep” and “scapegoat” in much more lighthearted ways, so context is important I suppose!

Sounds like a dead bedroom scenario where his wife can’t bear to sleep with him so he takes it out on other women. The hell though, married? I wonder if she knows about this. Time to get a new hobby, man.

Bonus dad story from one of my bro-in-laws: when my lawyer brother-in-law asked for permission to marry my sister, my dad said it was up to her but he appreciated the gesture of asking. Then he proceeded to say the only concern he had was that every lawyer he’s ever met were too glued into their books and in his words “were limp-dicks”. Then dad spent the rest of the hour drilling into him that he needed to ensure that their bedroom didn’t end up becoming a dead bedroom and that if she told him …

And even if he’s saying that he’s the black sheep of say a super abusive family...what kind of mental baggage did that leave him with? I’m not saying to trash them immediately, but proceed with a LOT of caution/a clear head. If he’s done the work, seen counsellors, etc, maybe there’s a chance, but I would go very slow and suss the heck out if on all other accounts he’s a HVM. My dad was raised by a very abusive father who beat him and his brothers, but he was extremely respectful and loving towa…

I don’t entirely agree with that last statement - as she notes in this video, we should be aligning together as women, not tearing each other down. I’m a feminist in terms of equality, and many of us are recovering/reformed “pickme”s, who came to this information/subreddit after being burned by subpar men. With a HVM I do want to be treated as an equal partner, have my human rights protected, etc. I feel it’s necessary to clarify that our prime enemy should never be other women (who may find the…

So my dad totally advocates for stalking them online (my mom is basically the world’s best online private detective if we mention to her we’re seeing someone hahah). It’s the adding/friend requesting. They can intel too much about you, so to avoid manipulation at the worst, or them just plain finding out too much about you at best, it’s best to stalk but stay off adding one another.

Is shortcels like a bunch of young virgin kids? I feel just a little bit bad making fun of those teenagers who seem to have been warped due to the lack of societal exposure to women so that they’ve just been twisted into hate. I’m assuming ‘teenager’, as reading from the comments, it sounds like most still have developing brains. Reading blogs from former incels it’ll hopefully be something they grow out of once they’ve finished growing up - the ones that did seem to be doing well anyways. We ne…

OMG so has anyone watched the show Fleabag? I’ve watched it all 3+ times now but Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s writing and comedic timing is brilliant (it’s on Amazon Prime). One of my fav shows ever! So many amazing quotes on life but my fav is the discussion at the bar where “women are born with pain built-in” ❤️❤️
