Not giving a fuck is bad, and a bad look. You need to give a fuck. But not about women. You need to give a fuck about looking sharp, being fit, excelling at your hobbies, rising in your career, furthering your education, and having fun. That is patently wrong. Men have the upperhand in this department because facial attractiveness can be overcome by wealth, overall fitness and muscles, and having a strong frame yet being likeable. Women who have put you in the beta role will initially be offput. Once you push through, if you chose to, you'll be hanging out with them more. They will want to hang out less in the sense that you will not longer be participating in 'beta' activities with them. Going out with her guy friends, helping her with her homework (ie, doing most of it), watching movies with no escalation at all, etc.
