I work with cops a lot (in a capacity of a social worker). They love clinging to the narrative that she was the crazy and abusive one. It really plays well with the whole "women are emotional and unstable" narrative that society steeps itself in. Going off my anecdotal stats alone, I have found more men "abused by their wives" than women abused by their partner (mind you that number is HUGE).
