It's eerie how similar your situation sounds like my fiance and I. But at least it's good to know that seems to be the way it is when going through this. Thank you for sharing that.

Thank you, Iris. Friends have offered to help but I don't want to take them up on it. Not just because I feel like we're "taking advantage," but it feels like this is time for family. I don't want to have friends over when we have family in and out all day. When she's here, my SO's cousin does help with the kitchen a lot, which is nice. I'm not surprised or anxious about the change in intimacy. I'd be surprised if we were still active right now. I have been talking to my best friend about it. Sh…

I think my own mother is one. My parents split up when I was a baby, and she was extremely hurt by the whole ordeal. I would even say irrationally so, but that doesn't matter to the story. After him, she tried to date one more time, it didn't work out - and since then, she's been flying solo. It's been at least 20 years since she's had a relationship. She just turned 60. Forty is still young enough to date - even 50+ can be if people want the same things from the relationship. It's not like she'…

Let's say you have a very good friend who you've known for years and years. She started out fine but then she started spiraling. Of course you try to help her and do damage control, but eventually, your husband recognizes that enough is enough and says you should cut ties. Any person who feels any sort of emotions will of course protest. You can respectfully provide your arguments, but in the end, a red pill woman will do what he says. My SO and I have wonderful discussions about everything from…

One friend of mine got married last September. She was 33 and a virgin. I also know a woman who was 35 and a virgin, and she got married a few years ago. It's not unheard of.

It's harder than it sounds. I'm a chronic people pleaser and it's been difficult to learn that it's better to make my SO happy, than let him be disappointed and make 10 other people happy. But it's so worth it.

Six months is early, but I'm the last person who will say it's silly or bad. If it feels right and makes sense, go for it. I moved in with my SO at our 6 month mark, after being LDR for 4 of those months. We got engaged a month later, and our wedding will be in June '16. I had (and still have) that feeling that something is different with him, too. :) Things will work out!

Ah, I see, that makes much more sense! Like I said - I understand really loving a certain school. But when faced with the choice of your perfect school and LDR vs. a second-choice school and being with your SO... I would pick the latter. :) And even if you're still struggling with the decision, send out the applications anyway!!! Open more doors than you need to, just in case. If he's expressed wanting you to be closer, tell him you'd like to transfer schools to be with him. The subject of movin…

Yes, it is. Also relevant: This has nothing to do with female sexual strategy or long-term happiness. This is simply your bewilderment with a female coworker. This is a female-dominated sub, yes, but we don't exist to sit around and decode all female behavior for you. But here you go: she felt vulnerable and tried to bring you in to her control to feel more in control in general. You should man up and ignore it instead of obsessing and posting about it here.

Six years is too long to be LDR. I wouldn't commit to that. I also think six months is fairly new for a relationship - especially if you've been LDR for that entire time. Take some time to consider whether or not you're really secure enough with him to consider a drastic life change. Have there been ANY red flags, or even yellow ones? How well do you know him? His friends? His family? Have you discussed your futures? Is he clear with his intentions to settle down with you/have a family (if that'…

I dunno what this is called so I've dubbed it the stuffed eggplant. Slice an eggplant in half. Gut it a bit (but not completely - leave about 1/4-1/2in of eggplant meat on the edges). You can store the rest of the eggplant for something later. Stuff it with some combination of the following: Ground beef, fresh herbs, dried herbs, cheese (optional), tomatoes, bell peppers (optional), rice (optional), salt, pepper... whatever you want. My go-to is to chop some ground beef with tomato and fresh ore…

Affection towards my friends: Hugging, kissing on the cheek (as greetings). For female friends, more frequent hugging and other physical contact (arm/waist/shoulder/whatever) is also appropriate. Affection towards my SO - in public: Hugging, hand holding, kisses on the cheek all the time. Sometimes I kiss his hands, too. Staying physically closer to him than to others. Making his plate for him if we're out. Kisses on the lips if company is comfortable with it. Affectionate/Sexual towards my SO -…

What kind of stove top? Standard metal painted white? I honestly use a foaming glass cleaner on mine. Wipe it down every few days. If there's a lot of buildup, I'd hit it with a rough sponge and bleach.

Good idea with the shower cleaning. Unfortunately, I only have that Clorox bleach spray to clean the shower with, and it stinks!! I usually let it air out for a few hours before using it. Do you use a different cleaner?

If you can push it to 25 minutes, baked salmon is a good one. 5-10 prep, 15ish to cook (any longer and it comes out too dry, imo.) I usually get a salmon fillet, not steak. 1) Turn on the oven to 425 2) De-bone it with a pair of tweezers. So much easier than using your hands. I just use old eyebrow tweezers. 3) Slap that baby on a piece of heavy duty tin foil. Fold up the sides so it makes a open-topped pouch. Less dishes! 4) Seasoning/flavors! My go-to is olive oil, dill, salt, pepper, and a li…

I took woodworking instead of home ec. Still work in a woodshop regularly... I know my way around a saw better than most guys... My SO didn't have sisters, so his mom taught him how to help her take care of the home and how to mend clothes. This doesn't impose on our ability to be masculine/feminine. Honestly, I clicked on your title expecting.. the opposite question? I don't think it's about discouraging 'non traditional' interests; it's more about making sure a traditional foundation is there.…

It's really up to you whether or not to forgive and forget it. Something about the way you write him tells me he may be a good guy and was honestly curious about the person he used to be with. He probably still cares about her, but he says he's made his choice, and his choice is you. He might have seen his actions as a 'white lie' to avoid some awkward conversations/avoid you worrying. On the other hand, you're in a tough situation. This breech of trust happened just as you two went long-distanc…

Are you asking this sub how to maintain your hotness so you can ride the CC in to your 50s? That's not really an endorsed strategy here... Even if you're just asking because you want to remain hot for yourself/your SO, you should check out some beauty/healthcare subs. You'll find more information than you would here.

Receiving graciously is definitely something I've had to learn to do. My mother taught me that I have to work for everything I want, which is not a bad thing, but she did it in a way that made it difficult to receive. She would tell me that if things were just handed to me, that I wouldn't know what it really means to have it. That I'd just disrespect the thing without realizing it, because I didn't have to work hard for it. She was talking about cars, an education, and houses - investments - bu…

My mother and my aunt both got cheated on by their husbands. Not one-time stands, but emotional, ongoing affairs with other women. My mom went crazy, divorced him, and stopped him from seeing me for the majority of my life. She knows her reaction was extreme, but doesn't regret it. My aunt kept her cool, thought it through, and decided that she'd rather keep her life partner than not. After a lot of time and work, they've recovered fully as a couple. Obviously, it's a lot more complicated than a…

What is your number, exactly? You can still probably find a decent guy who will want you. Not all good guys are reading TRP. Partner count questions are pretty common at /r/AskMen (which is quite BP but not as bad as other female-oriented subs, IMO). Most of them tend to agree that 7-10 is high, though TRP will give you answers anywhere from 0-3. I also recall seeing a girl on here who was a former stripper. Her relationship had problems because of it, but it seemed like she was able to hold it …

Pick an ingredient. This decision is completely random and whimsical. Maybe you like the shine on that eggplant. Maybe you've never butchered your own chicken and you found a whole one. Maybe you're craving some red meat and that New York Strip is on sale. Type it in to epicurious. Find a good looking recipe. If nothing catches your eye on there, I just google ways to cook that particular thing and check what's in my fridge/pantry to go with it.

Well, of course. I googled the source to make sure it wasn't another little Monroe turd. However, it does resonate with me a little; it reminds me of my angsty high school days when I intimidated all the boys at my school before they finished puberty.

I agree, it's dating 101 to look for red flags and know when to bail. However, I think your statements are controversial because it's possible to do all the right things and still get screwed. You're implying (intentionally or unintentionally) that if you follow the rules and pick right, your partner will never cheat; and if you do pick a partner that cheats, well, it's your own fault for picking them. That's crap. Relationships are always a risk.

Dude... RP theory is not science. You cannot predict with 100% certainty that the man you've picked won't cheat just because he checks all the boxes.

Hi. I'm an RPW and post there regularly. I'll give my two cents. I've been dating my SO since January. We are from CA. Unfortunately, one week before I met him, I paid for a drawing program in France that would last from May - August. It's to study, but obviously, it's also very nice to be in France. The school is small and all the students are very close (I've done this program multiple times.) Had I met him before I paid, I would not have gone. We're both pretty unhappy with the situation. We …

Honestly, I would go. It's only two weeks. You have Feb. through June (4-5 months, DOUBLE your current relationship span) to spend time with your hunny, get settled, find a job, etc. Just let potential employers know when you're applying that you have a trip planned and it should be fine. Or wait until you're back to find job and spend these few months settling in with him. I've been studying in France for the last 2.5mos while my SO stays in CA. IMO the right thing to do - just do what he says. Put it towards your loans/savings. I don't think it would be out of line to ask him if he'd like you to at least cover some utilities, since they'll go up with you there. Definitely cook and clean, bring positive things to his environment. But yeah, don't push it, especially if he's not making it an issue.

He works in retail and was an open admit university student in the liberal arts, so no SAT score record. I minored in biology since I'd changed majors from premed, and took courses like organic chemistry, biochemistry and pharmacology so I am aware of many of these things. I'm not an expert, though. It could be a combination of decreased sensitivity and orgasm 'training'. Basically, your body learns that it can only orgasm in one way, making it very difficult to finish in any other way. It takes patience to 're-train' yourself, but it's doable.

Truth is cold, hard, and polarizing. Reality is a little less hard. You will see examples of truths everywhere you go, but honestly, people aren't as bad as we make them out to be, for the purposes of everyday interaction. I have a lot of friends that are brainwashed by the feminist/liberal university doctrine, but they're not bad people. OP, I agree with /u/katherinekelly. She needs to focus on her own emotional well-being/health, not on finding a man. She's 31 and "the clock is ticking," but honestly, given her past of abuse, that should be the least of her concerns. If this change in her perspective is true, and she's not going to just give up and fall back in to her habits, she needs to go in to what they call monk mode over at TRP. Work out, find a hobby, go to therapy, get better.

Most women posting about their relationship are seeking advice on how to improve it. And, usually, the way to improve it is to understand what your SO needs from you. Why isn't RPW open to discussions about what your boyfriend is doing wrong and whether or not it is time to dump his sorry ass? We are. I've seen plenty of threads where consensus is that the OP should move on. Do some more lurking before you form your opinions.

Ehh, perhaps try to slowly expand his 'driving radius'? It's probably a combination of issues, mental exhaustion and lack of confidence. Building a 'can-do' attitude is important in recovery. First of all, I'm sorry that your SO is going through this. I've had two episodes of MDD in the past. There's really no way to describe it, but one of the best quotes I found was "a mind that wants to die in a body that tries desperately to stay alive." You're on the right track as far as what YOU can do: stop nagging, stop complaining, be his safe zone. Don't give him an ultimatum. They're childish and push him to make a decision he doesn't want to make. I'd want something to show that the relationship is secure, whatever that is for you. If you don't get that sign/token/promise/whatever, just break up with him. But don't threaten him with the possibility of a breakup to try to elicit it from him. Does that make sense?

Over the next two months, he will be solidifying his own ideas about what this position means for him. Before the two months are over, you should definitely address the status/expectations of your relationship. I would consider the following: 1) Can you visit each other? How often? 2) What are your goals over the next three years? What are his goals? Do your goals line up? First of all, thank you for this thought-out reply. A lot of the questions you asked are things he and I talk about very openly. You two have been in a relationship for six months which is still young – and you’ve been gone for a portion of it (how long is this trip?). Do you think it's worth it to try to cultivate a new mindset with him? A mindset that, yes, we are different, but we're good people with good hearts who love our families? That perceived indiscretions are forgivable under the laws I had at the time? We've talked about what our family would be like and I've agreed that if we stay the road we would raise them under his culture.

Thank you for your understanding. I'm just not ready to give up. I'm hoping giving it some more time will show whether it can be overcome. It may be foolish, but I just need to know for sure before I can call it.

No, that's it. I agree, it's not fair what he's doing. I've said that once or twice, and he agrees. He can't seem to find it in himself to control it. He's never had to deal with an emotional conflict like this in his life. I feel like I might be able to help him if I can just find the words. :/ He's rational enough to admit he's in the wrong.

Everyone seems to be skipping the last paragraph where I explain the extremes of his cultural background. It's an ongoing process for him, getting used to western culture, especially what is/isn't sexually acceptable. He knows I'm a good person. He was just raised with a certain expectation which, for the last few years, has not matched up to his reality. It's a lot of conflicting messages to work out. I understand why he's acting this way and I don't fault him.

He's a good man, not the type to pass nude photos around. I have a lot invested in this relationship already and I'm not really willing to run based on this issue alone. I agree that he has some maturing to do, but I also have some - for want of a better word - repenting to do. It's not like I'm innocent here. For me to buck up and leave he'd have to cross the line to being truly abusive. I don't see him ever doing that.

Three months ago, he started asking about one of my ex's. It has escalated very slowly. Only in the last few weeks has it been a major issue. This issue aside, I've never been more compatible physically, emotionally, or life-goal-wise, with anyone else. I don't want to give up on us if this is an issue that can be resolved.

For this one bad thing, there are a hundred great things about our relationship. There are reasons behind his behavior that I can understand. I didn't come here to be told to get rid of him with very little explanation.

Generally good ideas. However, as much as I like doing things daily, some situations don't allow daily running of the dish washer/washing machine. Things light drought (I live in CA, wahhh water), and living in an apartment which may not have one or both. That being said, I rigidly follow a 'clean as you cook' rule. As soon as I'm done with something, it goes in the sink, and as soon as I have a free moment, it gets washed. You can eliminate most of the mess that way. Another thing about laundry…

I was referring to another potential situation in my second paragraph. I have a friend whose parents like to talk about their ex in front of their SO. It's awkward and tactless, and you wouldn't expect people to do that, but you also wouldn't expect parents to go hang out with an ex of their son's either. So, should they talk about her in front of you, ask your SO about it.

I've heard of a few cases like yours where parents keep in contact/are friends with their son/daughter's ex's. It's always really awkward for the son/daughter. I'd say just don't bring it up with the parents, and continue to be friendly to them. If they talk about her around you/your SO, you should address it with your SO later. Don't ask him before it happens, but should it happen once, it'll probably happen again, and you should ask him what he'd like your response to be. First time, just smil…

Lust acts to increase Chaos. It can exist within a framework, but it doesn't add to Love and Order. I disagree. Lust certainly can increase chaos, but it can also increase love ("order") as well. Love/order is powerful, but add lust to it, and you've got a combination that's even more difficult to break than love by itself. Lust can add to love and order. What a sad marriage it is if a wife does not try to inspire lust in her husband! We've essentially become a "Brownian Motion" society where pe…

This dichotomy you've set up is neat and tidy. In fact, I think it's too neat and tidy, as poetry can often be. A is to B as X is to Y because it feels good. Isn't that pretty? Can't a woman lust after her husband, and vice versa? What happens when the sweat on his brow moves the animal in her? What happens when he sees her, and the rush of hormones overtakes him, and he needs to have his wife? Is love destroyed in that moment? Or is it strengthened by its alleged nemesis? You've created a false…

If we're going by-the-book, I'll say that my relationship is strongly geared towards physical touch and verbal affirmation on both sides. Last three are tied. I find that this is lacking one major category: intellectual stimulation. Pink_and_yellow's got a good idea there, prep work like cutting ahead of time. :) Baking fish takes 15-25 minutes depending on how thick the cut is, throw together a salad and stick a potato in with it while it bakes. I can usually convince my SO to eat a good spinach salad, especially if it has bacon and feta in it! Haha. Some green is better than no green, basically swapping your pie crust/egg for spinach/feta. You can also swap out the bacon for other leaner meats, like if you grilled chicken or steak the night before... pop it in. Salads are also a great opportunity to sneak in nuts/seeds, super healthy. The book is wonderful, as is the movie. The directors went out of their way to make it as close to the book as they could. The only major difference is that Stanley was fat when he went to the camp, and drastically lost weight while there. The directors didn't want to force a young actor to diet and gain/lose weight unhealthily for a film role. There is great importance placed on the physicality. I agree that sex is a privilege, not a right. For both genders. I don't get to have sex with my SO just because I find him attractive and vice versa. To us, part of being in a relationship means we give each other our bodies. It's exhilarating, it's intimate, it's vulnerable, and it's fulfilling. It goes deeper than validation. Sexual attraction and compatibility is one of the most important aspects of my relationship. It's right up there with our long-term goals and personalities aligning. Sex gives our intimacy another dimension, gives us something that isn't shared with anyone else. I'm a little late here but just wanted to give my 2 cents. My sister married a Palestinian man. He is obviously Muslim. She doesn't wear the hijab unless they're going to the Mosque or visiting his family. This is because he's a very reasonable man and realizes that the hijab draws attention in Texas, which defeats the whole idea. Wearing it is supposed to show modesty and NOT draw attention. I highly recommend Le Bomb Shop. They have measurements of their dresses' bust/waist/hip/length on each page that I've looked at. I think you're nit-picking and taking the food/menu metaphor a bit too far. Dating philosophy doesn't end at macro ideas like how to pick someone to go on with (what I think you two were discussing.) You pick someone, then you actually have to date them to figure out if it'll work with that particular person. It's one of the most important things. If you are not attracted to someone, stop seeing them. (I made the mistake once of thinking I'd grow to be attracted to someone once - nope. That was a tough breakup.) As far as the actual sex being good or bad, fixing it depends on the issue. There are some things that can be talked about and worked on, and some that can't. He might have wanted to recognize that you're a quality girl, to make sure you don't feel bad for his disinterest... so, that said, he may be genuinely disinterested (evidence by he didn't ask for another date - reasons? Only he knows). On the other hand, he may just be busy. I have spectacular/lifelong friends that I don't hear from for weeks at a time because school/family/work/life catches up to them. I'd say if you think he's worth the effort, reach …

Thank you. :) That's the whole reason I thought it would be nice to share, because the way of thinking can be applied everywhere in life. Interesting that Tinder takes on personalities in different regions. I wonder if it's worse in other areas. This all took place in Los Angeles, CA.

Hahaha! He wasn't good enough anyway. He couldn't take the heat and surrendered. ;)

I'm from CA (USA), 22, white, and grew up in a pretty secular family. I don't like the word anti-feminist, because I don't like the word feminist, because it's such an umbrella term these days. You don't know what it means when someone says they're feminist or anti-feminist. Are they someone fighting for basic human rights in a third world country? Someone trying to break in to the political/professional sphere? Do they go on slut walks? Are they trying to kick the patriarchy's ass? Does their r…

What are you struggling with right now? How has it impacted your life? Right now, I'm struggling with my career/money. Essentially, my idea of what I want my career to be is not agreeing with reality. I'd love to spend months locked away in my studio painting, and then have shows and sell my work, but the reality is that I need cash flow in the interim. I'd also love to teach at a university/atelier level, but I don't have the necessary degrees for university, or reputation for an atelier. I've …

Hi 19, I'm 22, and even in three short years you are going to be a completely different person than you are now. As far as a career/studying, do what interests you. As far as relationships, don't close yourself off to the idea of being married and having a family. When I was 19, I didn't want kids or a husband either. As far as being wealthy and fulfilled, I'd say choose a priority between the two. You can be fulfilled without having a chef and a maid. Not to say the two are mutually exclusive, …

Being useful to date. There's a lot of ways I think you could be considered useful to a partner. One would be having more (of something). Could be money, contacts, whatever. Maybe being an equal partner financially, being more career-minded instead of family-minded. Either way, he wanted to "date up" or not bother. In my case, I want to start a family eventually. I would have been more of a detriment to his lifestyle than an asset because I would have expected him to change his mindset about his…

I understand the broken glass, having had some stuff happen to me as well. According to a mutual friend, he's living somewhere in Texas these days, published a book a few months ago, and is working on another. He and the other girl live together on and off as it suits them. Seems like he's content with his life decisions. The second guy - he's very aware of how lucky he is. I didn't really get to describe him fully, as I was getting tired of typing at that point, but he's a remarkable polymath/c…

I've dated two of these types, as I said in another comment. I never categorized them as "sigma" because before this thread I didn't even know it was a category. But they fit the descriptions here to a T. The first was my first serious boyfriend. We were engaged for a time when I was in high school. He was the type who was too smart for his own good. Extremely masculine, fit, handsome, and charming. However, he was a sort of "natural" at game theory and able to read women (well, people in genera…

Is this thread still going? Haha. I'll make another comment to elaborate. I feel like if I tagged it on to my first comment, it'd get lost.

I dated two of these types before. They were both geniuses, but had a lot of issues. I have decided that the tortured genius is not the type for me. I could elaborate on both, but that's really the gist of it...

Of course, you're right about the 100% thing. But I'm terrified of having a daughter in the same situation that I was in. I didn't meet my father until I was 16, and I have some lasting psychological issues from it. The thought of having a daughter, and her going through that same pain, makes it all a thousand times worse. Everyone is capable of cheating, and I'm not sure I could deal with adultery in a marriage, but I'd at least want to be sure that the father wouldn't leave the family like min…

I like to joke that I need to be the center of attention on V-day because my last name is Valentine... but in reality, I put a lot of effort in to making it special to my SO as well. :) (I don't feel weird saying my last name on here because it's pretty common.)

We're not living together, so I envy all the low-key at home couples in this thread.. :) It's our first Valentine's together. He's taking me on a trip to a gorgeous area (a lake in the mountains 3 hours away). He booked a place with a full kitchen so that I could make us home-made meals the whole time, he knows I love to cook & has already warned me to "bring the pantry". There's going to be a real fireplace there too (weird for our area), so he plans to bring some firewood and an axe and fulfil…

Yes, actually! His parents have been happily married for decades. I haven't met them (they live in another country), but the way he talks about them, they're still completely in love with each other and treat each other as their king/queen. I think it's part of why he's such an amazing man, he grew up with a loving father. I've talked to professionals in the past but haven't found one that actually helped me. There's still a lot of Freudian ruminating instead of actively trying to better yoursel…

About the HS engagement - I know that now, but it still stung. We were really close friends for seven years before we even started dating, it felt like losing a life partner at that time. I think fear of abandonment and fear of commitment do go hand in hand - in a self fulfilling prophecy as you said. Can't be abandoned if you don't let anyone get close. The funny thing is that I realize all this, but I just have trouble knowing how to go about "fixing" myself. I literally have panic attacks if …

A huge part of what makes our husband/long term SO a "good deal" is that he's committed to us. Commitment is a VERY serious concern to us ladies. Men make passes at me constantly, some are richer/more handsome than my beau, but I don't give them a second thought because it takes a lot of searching to find an SO willing to commit. Now, if your wife meets a man who wants to commit to her, has more money, and is better looking, you better hope she's loyal and has the smarts to know a promise of com…

I believe in women being intelligent, well-read, and integrated, but you don't need to go to university to pick up a book. Hell, none of my professors have even heard of Edward O. Wilson.... Semi-related rant - I'm in college now, and I've learned much more worthwhile things from pursuing my interests independently than from my classes. Tbh, college is just getting in my way. Takes up way too much time...

I agree completely - I just see it from a more female perspective. To a girl like me, it's very frustrating that good men are driven to that behavior because our society is fucking shit up.

Lady here - I've noticed the same traits in TRP and this is what I make of it: The majority of men posting on TRP don't consider healthy relationships with women a priority in life. They see the probability of coming across an attractive woman with their philosophy as very slim. So they focus on getting tail and making their life cozy. Lots of lurking, however, has shown me that not all TRP posters are like that. Some are happily married, others are fucking around but completely open to finding …

Semi-lurker - I pop in and read and sometimes leave a comment. I'm 21 and going to university for art. I grew up with a very feminist family, but have recently been forming my own ideas about gender differences and life paths. I like the RP community in general because it agrees with evolution, biology, and nature. I find that very beautiful. I find that forcing myself to exhibit unnatural traits makes me anxious, while allowing myself to follow my natural traits makes me very happy. I LOVE the …

If it were me, I wouldn't care. He's a gorgeous specimen of a man and he gets hit on every day of his life. If he were to push away every girl that hit on him, it would impact his career and life very negatively. I trust him enough to know that he chose me as much as I chose him.

Exactly. I have a good mind for advanced mathematics and physics (excelled at AP classes in high school). As much as I love science, I went into art because I love it that much more. I was smart enough not to listen to my mom, who tried very hard to pressure me into a scientific career... I followed my nature and I am much happier for it.

Not aware of what the Australian gov't has been putting out - but I am hyperaware of issues in the middle east concerning domestic violence and sexual assault. This is what I am referring to. I'll take a look - thanks for the info :)

It was a very gradual thing for me. I'm a woman. I've been bombarded with feminism since I was very young. I just kind of ate it up for years, thinking 'it's really cool that a girl can be a scientist if she wants to!' (elementary-middle school brain). When I got into college, I began to notice certain things. I talked to more educated people. I looked into more articles and sought out ones that were not perpetuated by mainstream and/or liberal sources. I found things that disturbed me deeply. I…

I want kids conditionally, and that condition is whether or not I find the right man to have them with. My family has a long history of fathers leaving their wives and kids, and my own dad leaving had a profound effect on me growing up. I would never want my children to feel what I've felt. I've thought long and hard about the reasons why every man of my family left (my father, my grandfathers on both sides, all my uncles ((except the one w/o kids)) even further up the tree), and the reasons wer…

I was a student. He was a teacher. He was 39. I was 20. I made a move on him because he's the most exceptional man I've ever met and I wanted to know him on every possible level I could. He confessed later he wanted me for a long time, but would have never done anything about it because of my age. It was a chance meeting, I guess. I was okay with it being shorter term - I had just gotten out of a bad relationship a few months prior, and there was a real possibility that he was going to move. But…
