Well I mean you want to be nice, but also clear on what the relationship is. I mean you're always going to treat your girlfriend better than other girls, it's just how it is. I mean how would she feel if her boyfriend was taking out other girls to dinner and footing the bill or running a $100 bar tab on another girl?

Where you go is really just an excuse to get two people together. You're the main event. I like to go downtown for pizza, ice cream, or apps. Then based on what we talk about we can follow up with going for a walk in the park, sitting together by the fountain, ice cream, coffee, drinks, a movie, etc. When you go to two or more spots, it makes the night seem longer and you build rapport faster. So it starts with, "Oh you like pizza? I know a great spot" then, "I love ice cream too, let's get a sc…

Or you get the 90 minute lecture on what a relationship should be, oh and same time next week? Also text me 200 times between dates? Yeah no thanks.

No, but the transition from boyhood to manhood is a path of learning. OP has learned that he's been too touchy. Now he will cut back a little.

Yeah it's basically a summary of a tenth of the 101 lesson you get by reading the sidebar content.

a lot of back and forth first could be part of the problem. Excessive texting is bad, online messaging is worse, esp through apps like tinder. Ideally you want to keep communication offline as much as possible, which is why dating apps are tricky. Try shortening your conversations to try to get a meetup, because I think you might be boring your target with excessive small talk. When you do compliment someone (offline ideally) go for something they chose, like a shirt or they way they styled thei…

Buy a pickup, use it to help people move, deliver kegs, help with garage sales, etc.

Definitely true, but most women I've met order either red wine, white wine, or a simple 2 part drink. One thing that I love about the mixology hobby is that it's a "back to my place" hobby. Where you can use it as a reason that she can come back to your place.

Yeah unless bartending is going to be a serious hobby, keep it simple. Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Vodka, Rum, Whiskey, cola, lemon lime, soda/tonic, and beer.

Repetition. If you're lucky you will meet a girl and you both fall in love by pure happenstance. For the rest of us, we need to actively pursue love/sex or whatever it is you're looking for. Dating is a skill, and works like a muscle. The more you train, the stronger it gets. Do the right things enough times and it you start to see the results you want.

It becomes a problem when it negatively affects the quality of your life. It's that simple.

I mean, it can't hurt. Just be ready to have your ego kicked in the face.

Yeah came here to say this. What excessive texting does is it quickly overshares information, erodes your mystery, and makes you boring. Like hobbies, let's take my hobby of pizza making. It could either be a 30 minute topic that ends with me taking her back to my place to show her how, or it's a text message that gets dismissed, or worse part of a "list of hobbies" text that's basically answering a shit test to see if I have hobbies.

dude, instant oatmeal is your best friend. Pour a packet in a teacup add some frozen fruit for flavor and vitamins/minerals, nuke it and your set. Prep to cleanup is under 10 minutes if you eat fast.

You don't necessarily have to "work out", but you need exercise. So if you're dreading the barbells and treadmills, forget about them and take up rock climbing or skating instead. I mean shit, how about dancing? If you want to go somewhere with an absurdly lopsided female to male ratio, a dance class is your Valhalla.

Sports league in the nearest city. Co-ed rec level whatever. I did volleyball. You'll meet people. Don't like sports? Dance class. Women outnumber men substantially too. Need to learn to cook? Sign up for a cooking class. Or take a bartending class. There's also music classes that will put you in a band. Rock climbing classes are usually done in groups. There's a lot of ways to meet people, but riding around town on your bike is kind of a weak way to do it.
