You have likely just found the most recent. When I pulled the skeleton out of the closet a whole bunch fell out. Just brace yourself that this may just be the tip of the iceberg.

To be honest this is one thing you should do too to protect yourself. You do not want to trust her seductiveness in what gets recorded or what is shown to others. Try to keep all talk short and to the point, using texts, emails or lawyers as much as possible and verbally defer to them. Treat this like the biggest stakes business deal you will ever be in and be professional. Your future and children's future rest on it. Get your paperwork in order and try to get as much info from banks and such a…

Everyone is a victim in their own story. Either by someone else "being" malicious or simply by being a victim of circumstance. Most people don't have the self awareness to see that it is often the person making their own house of cards doomed to collapse or even what behaviors they choose to tolerate early on that easily give way to more intense versions later down the road. Not to say that shit don't happen, but most people that have no connection to the chain of events upon hearing the full st…

She is not someone new. She is the same person you thought you knew everything about but she is just showing you a side now that you are adversarial. Let me guess you are now the bad guy for not letting her live her life and trying to keep her boxed in and you showed it to her by filing for divorce while she just wanted to test the waters.

Yea I would not make a public stink about it. When it actually comes up I would point out that's not what the judge said and elude to this being the case for many things she says. Just sounds like shes trying to drama farm from everyone and potentially you. If you want to give her what she wants go ahead.

Man I hate to say it but it took years for this to get hashed out and you purposefully buried your head in the sand or plugged your ears to the issues. Pain sure but you being betrayed no... This was not out of nowhere. As long as the relationship continued you were happy to lie to yourself and double down on the situation. You even resented her for being honest with you about her feelings on how things where going. I would hate to see the day to day of this dynamic work out over time. I'm not t…

Generally I see when this happens that people make a choice without actually understanding whats going on with their life. They go with an options that they think will "fix" everything and nothing fits the bill.

Came home went out for a run. Came back showered, made myself only a nice quick meal that smelled good and left to hang out with the boys. I was being actively avoided beforehand and she never noticed that I had been working out over a month beforehand and she never noticed until after cause she was staying late at work alot more. I installed a brand new bed when she went on a vacation a week before d-day. She slept on the couch except for one night when I got home and she was in the bed. I refu…

Things can should be handled amicably if possible. It is a smaller burden for both of you if you guys can pull it off. Try mediation instead of lawyers if you can. Some mediators are great and handle them in a way that is painless as possible mentally and financially. I saved myself much time, grief and the mediators shaved off several thousand dollars from the fee due to us acting like adults and not being confrontational in the slightest. It can be done. Mediated in 2-3 sessions in about 40 da…

It sounds like you have been outmatched and outplayed at every level. Even if you think you can retaliate in kind there is a very good chance the board is already set in a way for her to benefit from it. I bet the plans for this have been set months or years in advance for this eventuality. I would recommend spending more time unwrapping your situation and gaining some kind of even footing before distracting yourself with ideas of vengeance.

Its like being investigated by the police. The police themselves are told not to speak to other police if they are merely accused of anything. They invoke the 5th and go through a lawyer. Basically the same thing. It is purely neutral. It is actually strange that you see it in a negative light. Was my ex delusional by the end - YES. It also helped to facilitate one of the fastest divorces I have ever heard of. Now not to say I was not delusional by the end as well. The amount of stuff that happened and the equal amount of lies to myself due to me being unable to process reality. That is until I snapped out of it with clarity.

I found out my Ex actually resented me for asking her to marry me. I had "trapped her" into marriage just by the fact that I asked her to. She said she had to say yes because it would look bad otherwise. I think back to all the joking we had over about how stunned she was when I proposed and had to snap back to reality after a pause to say yes. I thought I just surprised her and boy did I. I just did not know that the joke was one me the hole time. For the better part of a decade afterward every…

My father called this the 7 year itch. Just keep in mind that she has already made this decision, is not on your side, has come up with a plan of action and has made sure to not let you know anything about this. This was thought out and premeditated and thrust on you. It is not all of a sudden for her. He smiled in your face for months/years while she planned this.

Not saying it is not good for you currently but you are also projecting. Because it is good for you does not mean it is/was good for everyone else. You never would know until you have had better. You are making a potential a certainty.

I knew then and I know now. She new then and might know now. Who knows how people will justify things after the fact and make themselves a victim. In fact I will die happier never knowing and finding out by never making contact again.

Oh call it as you wish. Many people cry victim without even considering the choices they made led to the direct outcomes that occurred. Personally I chose to overlook certain red flags and those choices cost me. The red flags turned into banners over time and I also let that happen for compromise and other reasons. Can people be victimized for some reasons out of their control, sure but I tend to find that is exceedingly rare as time goes by. Everything that the OP wrote about turns women into i…

No. I came to final conclusion that my marriage was to use a geeky term my "Kobiashi Maru" a no win scenario. No matter what I did it was ult going to have the same outcome. I am mortal and can readily admit there where things I could have done better same could be said for the other side of the fence. I am not a victim and nor is my ex regardless of her feelings on this. One choice I did actually have control over was what was acceptable. My scenario is not everyone's of course but it certainly…

Well you basically have found a Rosetta stone for interpreting her. You can convert everything she has told you to the actually reality and now you know what she actually means when she uses words. I would never let her know about the old google drive. As one should never just reveal their hand for no reason. As a side note I might even add a file in their sneakily for the next person to find with your findings.

Get your damn heart broken. It shows your capable of many things. It means you can fall in love and shows you can dedicate yourself to someone. I would recommend doing that before marriage. Nothing is stable let alone marriage. You will not find a guarantee or permanence in this or anywhere. You or they/you could die, they/you get the ick, find out they/you were wrong, it could be they/you falling out of love. You do not get the choice. It feels like by the way you have described that she has always been taken care and I will assume that her parents paid for college. She seems to be a ball of entitled, narcissistic spoiled brat that may be going through her first real trial in life. Honestly I do not know. I am completely hesitant to think that I would again. Even though I had one of the cleanest fastest mediated divorces in history I fully know what could have happened. Mentally the current iteration of marriage is literally all risk with no reward vs not being married. Any benefit has been gutted legally.

She should be your big no mans land. She is not a victim of circumstance. She has agency and made multiple poor decisions which has led her down the path she is on. She merely does not want to pay the toll and shirk all responsibility for her actions now that she understands them. Look at her actions of flip flopping with you. Only when it was laid out for did her feelings for you come back. This is just what she has done in the open to you let alone what else she has still kept hidden.
/r/Divorce_Men09/01/23 07:00 PM

Well at least this is one less thing in doubt here for you. Remember at best you trust what she tells you at face value but verify everything she says and go from there. Remember she is literally in her own corner of the ring by her choice and not yours. Things can be done fairly but treat everything like it is a potential ambush.

She just does not want to be the bad guy. She wants to keep you strung on high until you say/do something that makes her justify all her actions in retrospect vindicating her actions. She has made it clear she does not want you but still wants what you can give her. First- lawyer up ASAP. Do everything in your power to stack the deck in your favor or have it ready to drop if needed. Document everything you can. Learn about where you live and what recording is allowed and where you cannot "make notes" as available evidence. Cover your ass in every way possible. She may be a completely different person towards you with gloves off and be ready in case she does. Secondly- and almost just as importantly DO NOT HAVE SEX WITH HER. There really is no right answer to this but rather what is best for you. People are at different detachment levels when it happens and have different coping mechanisms. Being with someone new can give insight as does spending time finding yourself. Just try to identify bad habits and then try not to fall back on em.

Everything you know of another person is basically an identity projection. This includes one's own self. The distress it causes you by not matching your projection of them/oneself is cognitive dissonance. The act of course correcting identities takes more of a toll the more invested you are with that person. You can never know someone even yourself 100%. But again even after all that it was only a slice of the issues.

When the lingerie disappeared from the shelf that was never worn for us. I woke up for work and thought it was strange that that shelf was rifled through and found it missing in the morning. I was not surprised to get the a Friday call after work that she was going to help a work friend and not to expect her home for dinner. She showed up the next day around noon. I took an extra car key to confirm my suspicions and found it in her work packpack with the tags finally removed. I remember being at…

Sounds like she was just shy of dragging you back to her den by the nap of your neck.

At the end it finally came down to a guy that my X was seeing for a month behind my back and decided she was not going to put in the effort to keep up appearances. Bluffed during the convo that I knew more and came to find out that it was a relative parade behind my back the for over a decade.

Your in a divorce for men section defending non-existent unsuspecting women here. You crusader you. How well does #notALLmen or #notALLHusbands go in female divorce subreddits?

When you met her and started dating did she show any similar signs of being with someone? I feel she might be perpetually monkey branching.

Effort. It is having someone put in the effort for someone else that was refused to be used towards you.

Sounds like she is a living emotional rollercoaster. Some people seem to never outgrow this from their childhood families or become addicted to it over time.

I don't disagree on a whole. What is the difference of meeting someone 2 years after and coming to the same conclusion after seeing someone for a few months? I'm asking out of curiosity. Side note - I think it is good to come to the realization that someone might not be a long term thing and just not continue on.

If they were high value they would have the communication skills to let you know they are interested but have alot going on at the moment.

Make sure the couple know your intentions or at least the guy. Then make sure he or they can plan to fade into the backdrop (go throw a frisbee for a bit or go for a walk) for a few minutes or whatever your plan is to spend a bit of one on one time.

Taking too long before pulling the trigger on getting divorced.

Reminds me of the old "You don't really know them until you divorce them."

I had a great experience with mediators if that can be said about the situation. But they helped take care of the paperwork, worked through asset split and even knocked 2 grand off the cost due to us being civil and not infighting. They filed all the paperwork to the judge and made the transition easier in my case. The people were very understanding and have been through the same process themselves.

We signed our divorce papers in July which I am still waiting on a Judge's signature myself. Even though that process was fast and as painless as possible just to move on from it. I understand so much of this. I do however sleep much better and mostly all through the nights now. My nightmares have also subsided since they came true. I had to exhaust and wear myself down for years to try and sleep in bed for a few hours. My bed seemed far from a safe haven. My X would pretend to be sleeping when …

After a similar situation we have split everything 50/50 and had an arbitrator help us with a no fault and have been waiting 3 long months now waiting anxiously for the judges signature. I feel that concern of it not being accepted.

I think someone could enjoy butt stuff without being gay. I see it like lesbians using strap-ons don't make em straight.
