After a few videos (Howard Dare, Sandman), I looked back on some of my and my friends' experiences with women, and I realized that a lot of what was discussed made sense. There's a standardized program at my college that has been offered since 2010. It's 16 months and takes you through how to use a Brewhouse, ingredients, bio/chem, management and legalities, how to build a brewery, etc. To become a Cicerone (beer equivalent to Sommelier) is a different certification process, and while it doesn't affect your standing as a brewmaster, it does help your professional image.

Really depends. Depending on whether I work for a big brewery (Budweiser, Coors, etc.) or a small craft brewery, my salary should average somewhere between $25K - $50K CAD per year. For a single guy with no intention of shacking up/marrying/procreating in the near future, that would be fairly decent. The program itself is pretty awesome as well. I'm only one semester in, and I've already learned so many things about beer that I never knew were applicable in the first place.
