I have been there. It was a lifelong dream to visit GNP. Too bad I went with an ungrateful, insincere woman.

I hated both characters. If memory serves, she was a flippant manic pixie dream girl that only dated him because he was giving her attention, and he was a hopeless simp who thought he could love her hard enough to change her. The whole movie is a red pill.

I couldn't get through that article. Lots of trendy jargon about feminism, sexism, and representation. Not interested. But yes, the wall is undefeated.

Family suggests he come to my place to die? Suspicious. Friend asks me for help at end of life? Property values be damned, I take him in.

"while I love that my work is becoming more normalized." So many people these days want the entire world around them to change to accommodate their feelings. A whore is a whore. Calling it another name doesn't change anything.

Rodney Dangerfield recited this in "Back to School". One of my favorite movies from childhood. Though many might find it silly, I always found his recitation very moving. Honestly, more moving than the constant repetition of it in "Interstellar".

For me, any possibly good memories are tainted by the selfish, narcissistic, insincere, lying behavior exhibited by the women associated with said memories. Therefore, while I was genuinely enjoying myself with these women in the past, I do not look back at the "good times" fondly. Just feels like wasted time and effort.

Hidden inflation. It is happening with the vast majority of products. Product shrinks, you pay the same price. And then the government can say, "Prices aren't going up. Inflation is in check!"

The downside risk is simply being with them. My ex was AWALT not because she left, but because she was selfish, insecure, and insincere. I may not have been ruined financially or had kids, but I wasted time. And that stings pretty bad as well. I think AWALT is biochemical, and therefore without exception. GYOW and do what you want to do. I don't think anyone here will have any advice that will sway you.

"She has called me handsome 30-40 times using all types of synonyms" "She will make her own chunk of cash & contribute to the household financially". Seriously? I dated someone just as you describe. Called me handsome every day for almost two years. Always told ME how lucky SHE was to be with me. Would tell anyone with an ear that I was "a God among men". She made the same amount of money as me. We didn't cohabitate. She paid her own bills. Bragged I was the best sex she ever had. And it turned …

There comes a time when accepting the idea of no meaning or purpose brings peace. As many guys say here, seek out things that you enjoy or that might interest you. Hobbies, etc. Learn new skills. Read more. Take up hiking. I went through a severe depression for years when I realized that I wouldn't achieve my dream of being a famous/professional musician. I felt like I had no purpose. After a malaise that lasted several years, I finally found peace with it. I cultivated my other interests, and t…

US Embassies and Antarctica. I am a tradesman currently working at the US Embassy in Moscow, Russia. I work for a contractor, not directly for the State Dept. There are several companies that contract this type of work all over the world. All of the trades are here. Plumbing, HVAC, locksmith, electrical, carpentry, metal fabrication. I know a few guys that have done stints in Antarctica as well. Something to consider. I wish I had discovered this when I was younger.

Study up on trading stock options. It is hard, and the hardest part is controlling your emotions, sticking to your plan. I can routinely make 20-200% per trade. I made $1700 this week trading options in just two days. I had a $6000 week once. The main problems I have are that I deviate from my plan too much and sometimes get greedy, so definitely not rich yet. But, while I have a 401k accumulating nicely, I have some play money I use to trade options.

I knew a guy who said the same thing. "Let's wait to have kids til our finances are better." Wife was a maternity nurse at a hostpital. She quit taking birth control, and didn't tell him until after the fact. He got extremely angry and said he'd beat off in the bathroom before having sex with her again. Two weeks later he called me to tell me she was pregnant.

Heartbreak and pain does not make you a pussy. It just shows you are a man of deep passion. In Ancient Greece, it was seen as manly to express one's deep emotions. https://sites.nd.edu/knownworld/2012/09/10/manly-tears/ "...rather passion and emotion are integral parts of the early Greek masculine ideal."

I am 42. Admittedly, my social circle has shrunk considerably in recent years, but I have several long term female friends and relatives, and I have noticed little to no growth in their interest in esoteric things. Many of them are still just entirely wrapped up in dysfunctional relationships. A buddy is dating a girl in her 20s and I have difficulty talking with her friends, because they don't seem to have many interests beyond their jobs, Disney films, and dating. My sample size is small, but …

"The true mark of genius is a lifetime of curiosity." I read that somewhere once, but can't remember where. While surely not absolute, I like the sentiment. I had a woman tell me once that I seemed to have much more knowledge than her about a variety of subjects, even though she had a master's degree. I told her that I am curious about many facets of life and read daily to learn about new things. And I don't notice many women doing that. Every time I bring up an interesting article I have read, …

Fair enough, but I tend to disagree that religion is somehow the primary motivator that makes people kill. People have always, and will always use some excuse or another to oppress, fight, kill and/or take from others. Like what, if religion completely disappeared you think there'd be no more wars or conflict? I don't really care if people are religious or not, or if they hate religion or not, but I have known many religious people who have done good in this world. So like anything in the human …

Not near as much as people like to think. According to the "Encyclopedia of Wars" by Charles Phillips, only roughly 6% of wars in all of human history were explicitly religious in nature.

Das Boot is a masterpiece. And The Hunt for Red October is one of my all-time favorite movies. If you haven't already, look to some older films such as The Great Escape and The Dirty Dozen. Edit: The Longest Day is another one. Many people who actually fought on D-Day, from both sides, consulted on the film. And many of the actors served or fought during the Normandy landing.

Philip K. Dick is the man. For those who don't know, many sci-fi movies over the past 30 years are based on his writing. Blade Runner, Total Recall, Paycheck, Next, Minority Report, Imposter, Screamers, The Adjustment Bureau, A Scanner Darkly are all based on his novels or short stories.

I have known many women that engage in this behavior. Women are master dilettantes. Maybe it is an attempt to appear more interesting than they really are. People who are passionate about something generally don't do it to seek attention.

Electricians make decent money. I believe there is a somewhat lengthy apprenticeship before you are a journeyman, but otherwise for someone of your education it should be a breeze. Commercial pays more than residential, by the way. I am not entirely sure, but I think you could get into an apprenticeship right away. I have been a carpenter most of my adult life and I love it. I am about to move to Moscow to be a carpenter at the US Embassy.

It's tough man. Many of us have been there. My best advice is to go no contact. Seriously, summon all of your strength and willpower, and do not talk to her at all. No contact! If she contacts you, no matter what she says, ignore it! Move forward as best you can. Channel the anger and pain towards something productive like weight lifting. While the pain will linger for an indeterminate amount of time, you will eventually reach a point where you are happy she is gone. I know, because I have gone …
