Modern courting as in two people bond and learn about each other exclusively for a five-year period -- or similar length.

Oh? The [........] omitted the part where I said similar of the husband. If she isn't a gold-digger and was just in love and married the trophy-seeker, then the kids will (possibly) grow up spoiled anyway. I can't see this normally working out. But to be fair, gold-diggers are more likely to raise the children than the trophy-seeker. Either her or a nanny, which is even more likely.

Hm. If so, I guess I need to get off the internet for a short while.

Men need to stay away from women who are: ⁍ Dishonest ⁍ Violent with romance partner ⁍ Unkempt[1] ⁍ Wear visible or subtle makeup/hair dye/cosmetic surgeries/tattoos[2] [1] I can say as a woman, that when people don't take care of themselves, something negative is going on in that mind. [2] Certain women are a high risk for being broken inside, (potentially "hurt people hurt people") shallow, or a part of the wrong crowd. Not suitable for marriage at all.

Taxes going towards dating...that sounds like we would have failed as a species at that point.

Let's return to courting.

Well. If that is your experience, we need to fix society immediately.

My mother believes the same. My view is that men who are obsessed with youth will ultimately cheat.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/24 12:36 AM
2

I've seen 'milf' culture but this notion is concerning. If this is true, will all men eventually cheat on their wife if she doesn't die by childbirth or health issue or accident??
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/24 12:34 AM
1

Yeah. Nuance is important. On another note, my mother doesn't understand nuance very well either, and that makes conversation difficult.

A bit cynical, but probably hard to get into a good relationship when you have a terrible upbringing. Probably difficult if the woman<span class="md-spoiler-text">or man</span> is born with a deformity, or the man<span class="md-spoiler-text">or woman</span> went into debt after a medical issue.

I believe that some basic looks have always mattered. Men who dressed well were more likely to be stable or even rich, for one. Also, I don't believe that men with weak bodies were ever desired by traditional women. Now, overweight men were desired because they were rich enough to eat, ("portly gentlemen") but at the same time similar applied to women. Of course, it possibly wasn't about physical attractiveness. Just that men who met certain non-appearance criteria were more likely to have a cer…

HIV is still killing people, depending on where you live. It also has a list of misconceptions on it, still held today.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/24 12:15 AM

Yes. Don't know about 'list of cheaters' but if some woman or man is cheating two times in a row or cheating while married, that might be list-worthy. At risk of being controversial, we also need to normalize not having children outside of marriage.

Want a man that makes me feel protected”…but “don’t want him to have a temper or be combative”. I have heard of stoic masculinity. That means no emotions, including anger. I don't really want a 'protective' man who is more 'protective' of me than I am of him. Mutual protection, if you will. Safety is a different concept, but related. Lastly the proverbial, “want a man who’s emotionally available and in touch with his sensitive side….but “I’m not his therapist and he’s supposed to be my rock/toug…

It isn't exactly voluntary if you're poor. But there are actual options this century. And one too many 'people' are trying to regress society back to when it wasn't at all voluntary.

Why can't we normalize marrying within our classes? Rich men marry similarly rich women, middle-class men marry similarly middle-class women, and poor men/women improve their lot before marrying at all.

That's generous of you. You're lucky that actually worked out. When men <span class="md-spoiler-text">(and women, but that's not the topic)</span> have poor hygiene, it is indeed often a sign of mental issues. And those mental issues can ruin a relationship in the long-term -- and imagine marrying, having, and raising children with someone who is not whole.

If the woman is a housewife of a wealthy man, and not born into wealth or otherwise wealthy herself, yes, she's probably a gold-digger. Either that, or she was just overcome with affection, and didn't realize that the man was a trophy-seeker....and got stuck. 😓 That's my view.

The poster from below ("boom-wham-slam") is misunderstanding me. I'm saying that wealth imbalance is dangerous for both parties -- trophy-seeking/gold-digging was mentioned in the paragraph. 😓

Actually, it is mostly about how certain strategies of men apply to certain women, and applying the wrong strategies to the wrong women leads to stress and even rage at the self/world/women.

Oh no, I specifically put information in the paragraph to prevent this type of misinterpretation. I suppose I have bolded the wrong part. For the fourth standard, this...is a terrible idea. What happens is the [........] woman values material goods above all else. They will have children, no doubt, who embrace an egoist and materialist mindset, and they will go on to adulthood when they will plague the world. ⠀ . Now, since we are discussing women, [.....] have feelings. (Yes, men do as well, bu…

Importantly, I am saying is that women in general have standards for what makes us feel safe. I will write a few paragraphs about appearance, for example. The whole point of idealizing 'tall, strong, angular features, some level of a tan, and dark hair' is protection, (and health/virility, for reproduction) I believe. To my knowledge, 'traditional'-leaning women want men who they can feel safe with, who are experienced enough to be undeterred by/to recognize danger, and who will fight for them a…

I'm saying I don't fully understand the dynamics of the standard. But I think that's the idea. I believe men and women should work together to form and maintain relationships. And, purity isn't really my concern, more of consent, respect, safety, precautions, and making sure they are both mentally and fiscally stable before they have children. (I could go into detail, but it is a bit controversial) But I didn't want to offend any traditional people when it is besides the point. 😶

Alright. But the only way I would marry a rich man is if I was also rich from my own job. Marrying within one's class is important for me. It's mainly a safety/trust issue.

I'm confused. No sarcasm here. Are you saying... that women who knowingly initiate a relationship with a married man do so because men are less stressed when they have the bare minimum of a marriage certificate, but the same men fear jeopardizing their marriage too much to show their negative aspects/be overall honest or do anything interesting, thus ruining the general satisfaction and bedroom aspects of these men's marriages? Thus, the men are twice as exciting while already married? So men wh…
