Meh. Guys in their early 20s are at the very bottom of the dating pool most of the time. Unless they're a rich, a super-model-esque pretty boy, or the funniest and most popular guy in the room, the smart move for a man trying to date is just work on themselves and re-attack in their late 20s or 30s when the game will easy for them, as long as they took proper care of themselves.

Don't listen to what people say. Listen to what they do. People make time for the things and people they care about. If they don't make time for it, they don't care. Nobody does anything they don't want to do.

Thanks man. Wouldn't recommend any of the dudes here go out looking for a girlfriend though. I got lucky. Wasn't looking for a girlfriend but happened to stumble into one in an unlikely way.

I have a girlfriend, but I'm probably in the minority. Most men going their own way would find a long-term relationship a little too close to the idea of marriage and opening themselves up to unnecessary drama, and they're probably right in most cases. I'm lucky to have found someone who I like spending a lot of time with so far, but a lot of these guys have spent so much time with women that they can't stand that when they finally get to be alone again, it doesn't feel lonely. It's just peacefu…

Doesn't matter why she said it. The fact that she would say something like that at all means she's not the kind of girl you want to be around for any reason whatsoever. You had your good times with her but now that you know who she really is, let her be some other guy's problem. Cut her off. No contact. The end. Edit: and honestly, kissing is a very important part of sex for me. If girl offered me sex without kissing, I'd probably turn it down anyways. Probably wouldn't enjoy it very much.

To call yourself MGTOW enemy #1 assumes we actually give a fuck about what you say or do. We don't. You can ask questions and we'll answer. If you don't like or understand our answers, that's on you. No skin off our backs either way. Same with every other internet space really. As far as this question goes, there's a simple saying that sums up how most men going their own way feel about a dude who likes to get it on with other dudes: MGTOW is just Men Going Their Own Way. If gay is your way, may…

First of all, we can do whatever the fuck we want. This isn't a club or organization of any kind. We don't have rules, leaders, or anything like that. Every man going his own way makes his own calls in life. That's the only point. Our cultrual and political structures have just changed to much that getting married removes your ability to make your own calls in life, so we don't do it. The end.

Dude. I have a girlfriend. Plenty of us date and hook up and sometimes even get semi-serious with women. We just don't marry them, or move into their homes. We keep our own finances and our own places of residence. That's all there is to it. Everything beyond that is a matter of personal preference.

Meh. If you grew up in a developed western democracy, it's probably best to stay there unless leaving for a specific, guaranteed career opportunity that promises more money AND better quality of life. Moving to a new country is a HUGE hassle. Are you sure you want to go through truckloads of work (emigrating, assimilating, learning new laws and languages, trying to build new social circles in a place where you are CLEARLY an outsider) just to get away from people who are saying mean things about…

People used to talk about the things they talk about in therapy with friends, mentors, colleagues, and anyone else that you generally didn't have to pay by the hour. They used to study philosophy and discuss it with other people, and exchange ideas with about what was good and wise, and how to act in such a way that would bring about the most happiness for them and the people close to them. This was therapy for people before it became a part of the service industry. I came upon this realization …

Going abroad specifically for the purpose of finding a wife is not a good idea. Such men are easy targets for women just looking for a plane ticket back to the USA and an easy green card. I do not recommend it. In fact, I do not recommend doing ANYTHING specifically for the purpose of finding a wife, even if having a family is one of your primary life goals. What I recommend is just getting out of the house and doing things you enjoy with other people. Pick a hobby/activity that you genuinely en…

Always remember the 1st rule of discretion: the only person who knows everything about you is you. Everyone else knows exactly as much as they need to know. No more, no less. 2nd rule of discretion: keep your online life and your real life COMPLETELY separate. Do not mention ANYTHING you see or discuss on reddit to people you meet face-to-face. Ever. ESPECIALLY anything related to the manosphere.

Interesting point you make about virginity. A lot of people think it's all about men being egotistical and possessive, but there's so much more to it than that. It's an indicator of a woman who has self control and doesn't give into every passing impulse, especially today when it's not only easier than ever for a woman to go out and have sex, they're practically encouraged to do it. My current girlfriend was a virgin before she met me, and while it is a bit of ego boost, mainly I respect her sel…

Porn kinda does distort your view of sex, but not in the way you're thinking about. Watching porn and fapping is a very different set of sensations than actually having sex with a woman, and with enough time and frequency you can condition yourself to orgasm to one experience so much that you have a hard time orgasming during real sex. But again, that's a psychological thing. And if you have sworn off women so completely that you are comfortable with the idea of never having sex with them ever a…

Wow. Your life sounds miserable. I'm very thankful that my life has absolutely nothing in common with that sob story you just posted. And if you think a sob-story like that is a criteria for being "masculine," then I guess I'll never fit your idea of a "masculine man." Oh well. While this is true, it is very, very rare. Women love sex, just as much as men most of the time. The key difference is women only love sex from certain guys. Put Henry Caville in a room with a woman who "just doesn't like sex," and she will suddenly become VERY interested in sex. So yes, the overwhelming majority of women love sex. They just don't always love sex with men they marry.

It's tough, I get it. And to be honest, even going your own way doesn't completely protect you from heartbreak. We are rational people but we're still human. Maybe "traditional" was just a poor choice of words on my part. "Feminine" might have been better to use instead. But regardless, even a traditional girl won't be demanding an eventual promise of marriage from the get-go if she has a good head on her shoulders. For me, long-term dating just means the relationship lasts a year or more and it's entirely common for relationships to last several years before either party brings up the topic of marriage. It certainly hasn't come up in my current rela…

Definitely a good path to fulfilling work and financial stability. Let me know how long you'll have to do that before you can afford to do anything you actually want to do with your life. Started by doing my own oil change for the first time last year on the little sedan I got used in college and still keep for efficient commuting. Went to my local Autozone and got myself some tire ramps, a wrench set, a catch-pan, and a filter clamp, and just set aside an afternoon to watch the how-to on YouTube for the make/model of my car and did it. Currently have a serious-ish long term girlfriend. First of all, I deal with the unfairness of approaching/initiating sex/being protective by simply accepting that life isn't fair. Never was, never will be. Men and women are different. Double standards exist for a reason. Welcome to the real world, cupcake. While I disagree with some of your specific reasoning, think you are coming at the issue with exactly the right attitude. Nobody should have a kid simply because they want a kid. They should really consider what kind of life they can give their kids BEFORE making them.

I'd disagree with that. The relationship between a dad and his kids can be extraordinary rewarding and fulfilling for both the kid and the dad. It can give your life a sense of meaning and purpose that few, if any other pursuits can provide. Hell, you'll never see a woman more in love with a man than when you look at a wife watching her husband be a loving, caring father to their kids, assuming both parents are the actual biological parents to said kids. It's just a damn shame that the legal and…

In my opinion, kids are an an all-or-nothing deal. If you want kids of your own, you are fully committing to the family life. You are voluntarily declaring that your life is no longer your own and that every living moment and decision will put your kids first, at least if you're doing it right. That could potentially mean staying in a detrimental marriage to provide a stable two-parent environment, and doesn't jive well with MGTOW. The closest you could get to being a father while truly going yo…

I have absolutely zero sexual attraction to anything masculine so no. I am not gay. Most guys here are straight. There is no genetic predisposition for MGTOW, it is a purely rational decision made by weighing risks against rewards. In fact, I'd say you would need at least some attraction to women in order for this to be a choice at all. Not sure where you got this idea but it needs some more thought.

Mods will probably nuke this post and direct you to r/purplepilldebate or r/askTRP, but I'll give you a brief rundown of what we're about. Ideally, a man going his own way has taken a purely logical, rational look at marriage and relationships, and decieded it"s not worth the risks. There are a few stages on that path much like the five stages of grief, and a lot of us do get ang…

Double standards exist. They've existed pretty much forever and won't go away simply because some people suddenly get mad about them existing. Just accept it and move on. Yes, it is Stoicism. And your example has nothing to do with Stoicism. If people who aren't affected by airstrikes or don't have any influence on the issue are getting up in arms about it, they aren't following Stoicism in that regard. One of the fundamental teachings of Stoicism is to recognize the difference between that which you can control and that which you cannot, and allocating your time and efforts accordingly.

What's wrong with dating a single mother? For me, it's all about time. The most valuable thing a man can give a woman is his time. As men, every second we spend with a woman is a second we could be using to better ourselves in some way, whether it's building a business, developing a skill, or even taking time to relax between other pursuits so we can re-attack them with a renewed vigor and drive. Mad respect for your friend. The whole raised-by-single-mothers isn't really a sure recipe for a disaster as much it is a common trend in a lot of bad statistics, like a significant majority of incarcerated men and people living under the poverty line coming from from single-parent households, and the overwhelming majority of such households missing the father. MGTOW isn't about finding everything wrong with women, it's about finding the good things in yourself. Don't let a click-bait article fool you into false, generalized arrogance.

Don't try to never ejaculate, that's just not healthy. Rub one out if you're desperate and get on with your life. Or actually date a real girl if you're so inclined. Just don't marry her or let her live with you. That's all you gotta do

Being MGTOW doesn't necessarily mean you don't deal with women. Its just means you don't marry them and don't give them keys to your place of residence. At one point this year I was dating two girls at once. Had no intention of marrying either one or moving them into my apartment, and they knew it and agreed to it. We were just dating. That's all.

I'm 27 and healthier, stronger, and more muscular than I've ever been in my life. Your metabolism slows down because your body is done with the transition from child to adult, but once you have the body of an adult you have to use it properly to keep it. Muscles, fitness, and health are very much use-or-lose assets. You have to put your body through its paces every once in a while. All of your major muscle groups need to experience regular exertion or they will wither away from neglect. Your car…

I don't mention the term MGTOW at all. It already has too much baggage thanks to the culture war. What i do is just tell any person I date about some of my general aspirations and goals in life, and make it clear that those goals will always come first. Sounds like you're attending university so it may be tough, but at 20 years old, you are definitely old enough to be independent and supporting yourself. Living in your parents' home isn't making you happy? You're over 18, the universal age of adulthood. Go live somewhere else and support yourself. Or at least start making plans to do it. When life sucks, i like to do research and make plans for how I'm going to improve my s…

Yes, the game can be won. But you know the saying "all is fair in love and war?" There's a reason the games of love and war are lumped together so often: you won't win either game by playing fair. If life didn't deal you a winning hand right from the outset, you need to do a few extra things to come out on top. 1.) Know yourself and know the opposition. Knowledge is power and situational awareness is king. 2.) Do everything you can to stack the deck in your favor. Play to your strengths and expl…

Sure, help out a fellow human whenever you can, as long as it does no harm. Just be smart and be aware of WHY you're helping someone. Are you helping a woman because she's just a person that needs a break and you can afford whatever inconvenience it may cause? If thats the case, there's nothing wrong with simply being a good samaritan. But if you're just helping a woman because you think it'll get you into her pants, or if there's any real danger of it being interpreted like that, it may be best…

Not a marine specifically, but I'm military police in another branch of the US military. Unfortunately, I see this all the time. And when I get involved, it's usually because someone in this situation found the booze, drank too much of it, and decided to do something stupid like getting behind the wheel or slapping someone around. Then I have to arrest them and write a report that effectively ends their career in the military. And while I sympathize with the circumstances that got them there, by…

Consumerism in general is geared towards women. Always has been. When a guy needs something he doesn't shop around for it. He decides what he wants before he even leaves the driveway, and it's difficult to persuade him to get anything other than what he set out to buy in the first place. If everyone thought like that, shopping malls wouldn't exist. It's not a problem, just different methods of marketing towards different demographics. My mom was pretty good as a traditional wife, believe it or not. She came from a time when it wasn't nearly as blasphemous as it is now. She's not perfect by any means (last I knew she outweighed my dad by about 100 pounds), but she and my dad have a good relationship. It might be that she realizes that my dad could do better if he tried and she's doing her best to not give him a reason to try. And yeah, my sister is the worst. I'm still reasonably good at my job and like it well enough, so I'm sticking with it for a while. But as soon as I save up enough to afford that high-investmnet education I mentioned with zero or minimal debt, I'm switching from a career focused on leadership to one focused on expertise.

Food. There's no better way to reward myself than with my favorite food. Sometimes the achievement itself is reward enough, but when I'm seriously in need of a reward, I go out and eat my favorite food. Sometimes I go with friends, sometimes I don't. Of course, this means that I can't be eating my favorite food ALL the time otherwise it wouldn't be much of a reward, so the most days I eat stuff that is cheap, home-cooked, and not very fancy.

You can do a lot of the things a father does without having a kid live in your house. Become a scout master or a sports coach, or volunteer your time at any organization that provides mentorship and activities for kids. A lot of kids who don't get the guidance they need from their parents get it from other adults in their lives and it can make a huge difference if you and a kid really click and connect.

You don't have to be a health freak. I'm certainly not. But even small efforts pay huge dividends. Eat some kind of a vegetable MOST days. Be able to run a couple miles for time. If they still post on reddit at all, they've moved onto more functional subreddits that are specifically about the things they do to get better. In my opinion, MGTOW is the natural state of a man in any culture that becomes too gynocentric. To make an economics/chemistry analogy, a gynocentric culture is out of equilibrium and MGTOW is how it seeks to regain equilibrium. Blue-pilled guys are not born. The one we have right now is the best we've ever had and I vehemently disagree with anyone that wants to fundamentally change it, but I acknowledge it's imperfect and it needs constant improvement and tweaking. Don't confuse frustration with hatred. A lot of guys are very frustrated with the tilted system, and rightfully so. We're not all going to temper that frustration with politeness and niceties just because you asked us to. Being nice rarely gets results, and men are generally results-oriented creatures. Lack of self-reliance isn't completely the fault of the parents. My parents didn't teach me everything about it because they didn't have to. When I wanted to do something I generally figured it out myself. If a kid really wants to be independent, they'll find a way to make it happen. The kids that never become independent probably didn't want it very much to begin with and probably would have found a way to keep leeching one way or another, even if they had better parents.

MGTOW (at least the variation here and not the unchecked rage over on the main sub) is simply men telling other men to do what feminism has been telling women to do for decades: Focus on yourself, your career, your happiness, and disregard any and all expectations born of broad cultural norms and attitudes. The only reason the most radical "feminists" of today hate us is because they aren't true feminists. They're socialists obsessed with intersectionality, victimhood, and perceived oppression.

My bucket list is pretty much a series of road trips meant to be taken solo. They cover most of the North American continent and I'm calling the whole thing "The Great American Grand Tour." I got the idea from my dad, who did took his 2001 Toyota Prius to all 50 US states and most Canadian provinces when he retired. I'm probably going to do it in a 2020 Mustang GT though.... 😁 There's nothing quite like hopping in a car meant for cruising with nothing but the clothes on your back and the money i…

For the guys that don't want to give up regular multi-blade shaving cartridges, I'd recommend one of the various subscription services. After trying out a few different services for razors, I finally settled on Harry's. Less than half the price of Gillette and slightly cheaper than Dollar Shave Club's most expensive option, and the actual razors are about on par with Gillette's. I used to use Fusion razors and foam/after-shave from their so-called premium line, "The Art of Shaving," and switchin…

Not all cats. Half of the time a friend asks me to take care of a pet while they're out, it's a cat. Some cats need less care than others, and most cats need less care than dogs, but most responsible cat owners would want their cat checked on at least once a day.

It's not about crystallizing chemicals, it's about the water in your body. When water in your cells freezes it expands and ruptures the structures of the cell and destroys it. Your body may still look intact but your body's tissues will be ruined.

I love animals, but I don't want to have pets any time soon. Here's why. Pets are great, but they are can be more of an anchor as a girlfriend. They require constant care and attention, and if you want any semblance of a clean living space, you're just shit out of luck. Between piss, poop, and pet hair, say goodbye to easy cleaning. I'm slightly allergic to pet hair, and yes I'm aware of the various allergy medications out there, but none of them achieve complete relief for me. Im much healthier…

I think most people see this as a dangerous line of thought because it's logical conclusion is one form or another eugenics. And pretty much everyone agrees that is very bad. Think, if someone suddenly decided people weren't free to reproduce whenever the hell they wanted, whether they were actually ready or not, how the hell would you enforce such a policy? And then you have all the quasi-intellectuals that would have a field day with the disproportionate consequences for different racial group…

Being MGTOW doesn't mean suddenly hating every person that ovaries instead of testicles, or losing all dignity and basic respect for our fellow human. If what you say is accurate, the guy in your story is a petty creep and deserves to be fired and maybe charged with misdemeanor harassment. For me, MGTOW is about prioritizing myself and my own goals over the pursuit of women and relationships, and that's it. I still treat everyone I meet with decency and respect until they prove undeserving of ev…

And here I was thinking only the hard-core religious conservatives would be protesting porn exhibitions... It sounds like both sides of the isle want to run you out of town.

Agreed. By modern standards my dad could also be considered a beta, but he grew up in a very different world than I did. Back then being somewhat beta-ish wasnt the death-mark that it is now. Traditional family values really helped people like that. Regardless, he taught me a lot about financial responsibility and accountability that a lot of "chads" out there may never figure out, and I respect and appreciate him for it.

My dad was the main male role model I had while growing up, and he's definitely not a bad role model to have. He's ridiculously intelligent and hard-working. He has a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with a minor in computer science and has never been unemployed. He's financially savvy enough to be retire by age 55, and very honest and principled. However, he has very few commonly masculine interests and is both the personification and perfection of the "Poindexter." He has absolutely zero i…

Id say being an author pretty safe. Unless you plan on becoming a Twitter drama queen like JK Rowling you can stay relatively anonymous even if the book does well. Lee Child, Louis Lamour, James Patterson, hell even Stephen King are all very prolific writers and we never hear anything about their personal lives. The important thing is to not have a famous name AND face. One or the other is okay, but having both makes you a target.

As long as you avoid running for public office, starring starring roles in movies (and Hollywood in general), and competing in professional athletics you'll be fine. The #poundmetoo movement is all about bringing down men who are rich and famous. They don't really care about the rich and anonymous.

The good news is there is a simple and stupidly easy solution to that. Just avoid high-visibility occupations. Don't run for public office, star in any movies, or compete in professional athletics. Avoiding any television appearances is an excellent way to be forgotten, and there are a lot of low-visibility, high-earning occupations out there. Don't be rich and famous; be rich and anonymous.

I guess it's not as bad as I make it out to be. You just gotta set goals and work towards them to keep your mind off of the frivolous things.

I never really had much of a choice in the first place. I just gave up trying to not be single. And I have made strides for self-improvement like eating healthier, exercising more, trying to follow my budgets more carefully, and setting goals and working towards them.

I'm only 25 and a lot of people say there's still hope for me and that I shouldn't give up, but standing around hoping never made anything happen and there's really nothing to do about it right now that I haven't already tried or wouldn't take time away from something I genuinely enjoy. As for Tinder, I tried that and some other dating apps a few times. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Tinder only makes hooking up slightly easier for people who were already hooking up at least a little bit before …

It's definitely not the best-case scenario for me. Even with all the MGTOW rhetoric I've been consuming lately, I still think it would be awesome to be a dad. If done right, having a family and raising kids is probably one of the most intensely rewarding things a man can do. On the flip side, when family life goes wrong, as is becoming more and more common, it's a miserable experience that can be utterly devastating for all parties involved. And if that's the case, blame usually falls on the fat…

I don't think so. If anyone's happiness is dependent on a tightrope act, they're probably not genuinely happy. And people can be genuinely happy, I know quite a few of those lucky ones myself. But they know from experience that actual happiness doesn't come from letting miserable people live vicariously through you and won't try to do that to you. They have no need because they are already content, and they know it won't make anyone any happier.

How can you tell who is happy and who isn't? The happy ones aren't telling you how to live your life. They're content with their situation and don't feel the need to live vicariously through someone else.

If you're smart with your credit, companies will practically throw free money and free stuff at you. Just maintain one or two credit cards and pay off the your entire statement balance every month for a few years, and you will have all sorts of financial institutions constantly begging you to take their low-interest loans and credit cards with cash-back and rewards programs. Of course, the key is to continue playing hard-to-get. One or two bad decisions can instantly ruin a great credit history …

I feel like I just want to focus on what I've been doing, learning and improving skills, and staying healthy. As long as that is your primary drive in life, you'll be just fine. MGTOW isn't necessarily about hating or even avoiding women, it's about prioritizing yourself and your goals ahead of the pursuit of women. You do whatever you need to do to protect yourself and get ahead in life, and if you can do so without avoiding women altogether, great! Even if you decide that it is safer to avoid …

My feelings on the matter have precisely zero impact on the actual situation. No woman is going to take my opinion into consideration before deciding whether or not to abort a pregnancy, so what's the point of having one? For me, part of going my own way is saving my time, effort, and brain space for the few things in life under my control. For me to have an opinion about anything, it has to impact me somehow. For me to have genuine feelings about something, I need to have some influence on the …

I don't run a country and likely never will. Trying to imagine how I would will only lead to stress when the people who do run the country inevitably do something I wouldn't. I don't waste time thinking about questions like this anymore and focus on the things in life that I actually can influence. It's an imperfect world out there and always will be in one way or another. I'm much better equipped to deal with those imperfections when my own life is in the best shape it can be.
