Just came from taking my son to the doctor with my soon to be Ex wife. The things is, I think it's just those fomo goggles where all of a sudden something that I don't have access to looks amazing to me. Sounds like I need to pay my therapist a visit lol. You are right though. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/25 11:48 AM
Just came from taking my son to the doctor with my soon to be Ex wife. Now that it's been pointed out, I do see that. It's funny because my therapist and I have spoken about this in the past and where it can stem from. I think I need to pay her a visit lol. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/25 11:47 AM

It's funny because sure my therapist and I have spoken about this in the past and where it can stem from. I think I need to pay her a visit lol. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/25 11:46 AM |
Just came from taking my son to the doctor with my soon to be Ex wife. You're right. I feel like it comes and goes where whenever we are near each other those old feelings come back. Time heals all! Time to focus on me! I appreciate you chiming in. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/25 01:13 AM
Just came from taking my son to the doctor with my soon to be Ex wife.Eyyyy. That's funny lol! Thank you! We went through a year of separation in the last. Unfortunately asking the question "were you with people" and realizing it was 5 guys within a month led to reconciliation not working. I couldn't live that one down lol. I can almost start to feel like my old self is coming back. I think I am on the right path by doing what you recommended. Focusing on myself, putting myself and my son first and just living! | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/25 01:12 AM
Dating is so much work!I agree with this. As men, many times we don't know how to be alone or how to date ourselves. You've changed since your divorce. Have you taken the time out to get to know the new you? I'm going through the same thing and have had to make that decision. Sometimes deciding to go get lunch or dinner by myself. Finding new things and experiences that I like. The best things happen organically and you will meet your perfect pair while you are doing something that you love. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/25 12:21 AM
Dating is so much work!I second this. The apps are made for endorphin hits. Also you've got to imagine with so many men swiping on women the odds are rarely in your favor. You can have a good convo one day then she'd match someone else that looks better or has more going and ghost you before you can even meet in person. That's just the reality of it. A real connection beats a swipe anyday. Get out there, go to venues, events and meet people. Who knows, the next best thing can start with a hello. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/25 12:19 AM
Do all long-term relationships get dull? They all get boring and the grass always looks greener. I messed up my marriage because I fell for that same way of thinking, now a week from final divorce court session and I'm realizing the boring steady life I had wasn't all that bad. Don't get me wrong, going on a date with a new person is exciting but like all things, what was once excitement becomes the norm. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/25 12:11 AM
Found out my wife is a garbage human. If she wanted to invite someone else that was your first red flag. Be happy you found out 8 years in and not 20. It's tough but just remember that time heals all. Brace yourself for what's to come and hold on. Eventually the storm will be over. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/02/25 07:34 PM
Won but Feel BadI'm sorry to hear that. What's truly sad is the fact that she cheated and only gets 25% of your pension is seen as a favorable agreement. The system needs to be restructured badly. I'd truly be a fool to be married again. There are benefits if you plan to raise children but other than that, the punishment for divorce far outweighs the "feelings" of being In love. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/02/25 03:44 PM
When did life get better?Yup yup! Acceptance is the first step for a reason. Once you let go of the past and what could/should have been focus on the things that matter (YOUr future. It's over. Let it go. Regardless of what thoughts come to your mind remind yourself that the reality no longer exists. The more you stay in the present, the healthier you will be and the easier it will be to move on. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/01/25 04:16 PM
Ex lazy during marriage but not after divorce?Been there, done that. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/01/25 04:13 PM
Ex lazy during marriage but not after divorce?Yup. Couldn't motivate her to work out at all during our marriage. Heard every excuse in the book. Now on the way to divorce and living separately she's eating good, working out, living healthy and actually cooking.Almost makes you think what's the point when I get more before the marriage compared to during the marriage when she feels like you have no choice but to accept what she gives. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/01/25 04:58 AM
New to thisThank you for the input. I am okay with CS since in my mind will go to benefit my child but spousal is completely unnecessary in my eyes. If she is deciding to file and leave me why must I help finance her lifestyle?? | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/25 07:02 AM
New to thisMy attorney said that they take out alimony before child support. Alimony could be around $500 while child support could be in the mid $300s. She applied for the 3 types of child support. That's why he said if she offers $450 as a set amount to take it. Because typically they do not go back and award spousal if it isn't initially awarded. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/25 07:00 AM
New to thisThe court hasn't approved yet. So far she has filed and I've responded. To my knowledge Oregon always grants child support in the favor of the person that makes less, even though I have him 50% of the time. I've declined spousal so I think the court will decide what's granted in that case. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/25 01:56 AM
Seperated 2 months. She let it go so fast because she found someone else. Women rarely move on to nothing. There is always someone else waiting to go next. Put yourself and your kids first. Your kids cannot succeed if you aren't in their life healthy mentally. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/25 12:22 AM
