Dont act needy they said. Welp now I am in a relationship and it backfired.Yes and neither was right. My biggest dam regret even though you can't believe it or the truth about my feelings that have never wavered. I have opportunities but I didn't give up on you and walk away. Until now. | /r/seduction | 19/03/24 01:49 PM
Dont act needy they said. Welp now I am in a relationship and it backfired.Should have told my ex girlfriend that. | /r/seduction | 19/03/24 12:53 PM
Has anyone divorced due to lack of intimacy or sexual attraction? There is one I thought I might be she has ripped my heart out and shredded it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/01/24 07:02 PM
Has anyone divorced due to lack of intimacy or sexual attraction?Well I cheated and then divorced. Not proud of the cheating. Yes it got better for a time and then the same issue returned for different reasons than the first so I am divorcing again. Honestly the intimacy issue was just a symptom of greater things in the relationship both times. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/01/24 03:03 PM
Christmas AloneMerry Christmas. It will be just me and the dogs. Stbx will be with her kids. My kid is with her hubbies family. So cooking a ham and mashed and stuffing plus the custard pie that no one but me likes. Some knob creek old fashions and I'm good. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/12/23 12:58 AM
She just admitted itYeah she couldn't do that. Other medical issues so is what it is. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/12/23 01:20 PM
She just admitted itFWIW I'm in the midst of #2 and I don't believe cheating has been the factor for me but I believe after menopause she has become ace as she states she just wants to live alone. Her personality did a 180 shift also. Where talking about anything and everything was common it is now seen as being talked down to or lectured. I don't always think it is the person you pick, or you. People change and sometimes they become incompatible that's all. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/12/23 12:58 PM
The media portraying mothers as self sacrificing angels. This is often false. Women are often poor communicators with men. Some believe if he can't read minds he doesn't care. It's often the woman comparing her life to the social media amplification of others that leads to unhappiness and excessive expectations. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/12/23 03:32 PM
How do you cope with the depression?I'm there with you. Big fight Monday and things have been bad for some time. I said I'm done and she took it and ran with it like a dog with a bone. Refuses to talk just screams I'm done and fu. It's hard but remember she's not one in a million she's one of a million. This is my second round. It's not easier the second time. Hang in there we'll get through it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/12/23 01:12 AM

Well here we are marriages 0 divorces 2Yeah I'm still providing. I just attacked the image of her whittle baby boy, and her shitty parenting. Oh and I'd like sex more than once every couple of months and I'd like her to actually move during it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/12/23 01:49 AM

Well here we are marriages 0 divorces 2Together 8 married 4 dead bedroom 3. She is 100% German she will hold this grudge forever. She would cut of her nose to spite her face. Giving up a 6 figure lifestyle for a 36k one and I have 40 acre farm coming to me in probably 6 months that's 500k in assets. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/12/23 09:43 PM
Well here we are marriages 0 divorces 2I'm not worried I have been without a total of 2 months my entire life after high school. I have the funds, don't look bad, and know how to hunt. Just going to miss her we were once friends. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/12/23 09:38 PM
Well here we are marriages 0 divorces 2I'll be fine. I had a practice round already with the first divorce and it was nasty. This one I think she just wants out and I will try to reconcile until I'm annoying, but in the end I come out way better than she will. She is foolish because Jan 15 her job ends so she doesn't even have a good job to look forward to and one sons house is full and she made an enemy of the other ones woman so she can't even do that. I did say she can stay as long as is reasonable, but I'm already replacement sho… | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/12/23 09:33 PM
For those who have divorced multiple times, then successfully re-entered a relationship, what changed? What did you change? It is really time to reassess your life and who you are. I'm sure you will go through some depressive moments, and those suck. At the end of the day this is your reset moment. Figure out what you want from life, and then go after it. Find happiness in yourself because in the end you are the only one who can make you happy. Just in general go about your day and work on healing the scars left from this. Then be a better version of yourself one day at a time moving forward and only reflecting on th… | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/10/23 11:20 AM
My wife wants to sit down and talk.Just say ok. Then if you can be reasonable figure out how you want things split, get it written up and done. If it's not reasonable get mediation, or a lawyer. If she lawyers up you will have to if you don't want screwed. Personally I'd have the lawyer in a holding pattern from the get go. I do but so far everything has been cordial. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/09/23 06:46 PM
If you could go back in time to one year ago...A year ago I should have divorced my wife and been much more active in pursuing my AP. Now I'm still divorcing my wife and my AP has left me for a coworker all in the matter of a couple of weeks. No regrets divorcing it was a long time coming. The AP I have many regrets she deserved to be number one in my life long before she was. Flame me for the cheating if you wish and throw in all the karma bs you'd like. Pretty sure I'm being punished enough. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/08/23 05:31 PM
How Do They Turn It Off So Completely?Reminiscing is the worst thing you can do. Right behind it is holing up at home watching baseball. Change your environment and change your mood. Watch baseball at a sports bar. Take an evening walk. Go to the store for a few things and take your time looking. Smile and chat with some people in the store. Literally do anything but the same old same. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/08/23 05:32 PM
Confused cheaterI've cheated on my first wife and though things were so bad it was almost justifiable. It's wrong, but you should keep it between you and God she doesn't know so has nothing to forgive and you had better keep it that way. Why do you want to hurt your wife just to make you feel better? | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/08/23 11:13 PM
Grey DivorceIt is great. I never in a million years could have imagined being this happy. She's much younger than me so for estate planning I will need to make the right legal moves to be sure she is well taken care of. I hate the odds are I will be leaving her, but I won't leave her without everything she needs. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/08/23 02:52 PM
Grey DivorceLOL funny you ask that. I have had months of thinking about just that, and the woman I am with now makes me say a definite yes! The love between us is so strong and the caring so deep I can't imagine life without her. I wouldn't need the ceremony or the piece of paper, but I'd like to give her that promise and stability. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/08/23 02:36 PM
Should of eaten the bullet. The IDF certainly raises the standards. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/08/23 01:07 PM
Should of eaten the bullet.Thailand is nice and $1 American = $34 there. Don't get me wrong if you have children, take care of them. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/08/23 01:05 PM
Grey DivorceOnce and this one is on going. In both they became nuns and I got none(affection intimacy). Which was only one of the many issues. I think I am moving on to one amazing woman now and can't be happier. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/08/23 06:01 PM
Grey DivorceI was a 40 something for the first one after 22 years together and now 52 with 8 years together 4 married. Are we having fun yet? | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/08/23 05:12 PM
Men that cheated before they left, what’s happened to the woman now?Mine worked ok for just short of 8 years. 3+ years living together and 4 married and ending. Wasn't anything to do with whether she was the side piece or not, and a lot to do with the fact she ended up not being who I married. Turned 50 and decided she was old. What's the adage about marriage? You say you do and then you don't. Yeah about a year in bedroom went from 100mph to a dead crawl. Lots of issues with step kids. It's been time to call tod for some time. I have an AP again, and when SO fo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/08/23 07:33 PM
STBXW getting serious with some dudeGood news is since there is this guy in the picture she is motivated for a speedy divorce. That means she is more acceptable to terms that don't rape your wallet or alienate you children from you. Take advantage and move fast before she finds out this guy is just out to hit it and quit it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/08/23 03:26 PM
What we all knew alreadyWent to counseling with my first ex made one session and when it wasn't all my fault had to change counselors and when it wasn't all my fault...she quit going. I was the narc. too though no one believed that except a friend she worked with that got only one side of the story. She became the enabler. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/08/23 12:48 PM
Approaching the 10 year markDude I stayed for the kid and it was a big mistake, but I'd probably do it again. After the divorce my daughter in a conversation one day said to me "I don't know why you didn't divorce her sooner" She was a smart daughter and knew things were bad for sometime even though we tried not to let it show. Yeah it meant she had greater resources and two parents readily available, but she also saw how two people cohabitate without respect for one another. So, 22 years the last probably 5 pretty miserab… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/08/23 02:49 PM
Boyfriend is getting chewed up and spit back out by ex-wife in courtIf possible and legal in your location I would have a recording device at all times when picking up the daughter and would record all interactions with the ex. Proof is harder to argue than he said she said. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/23 04:24 PM
Should I leave?I'll add to this. Do you know her parents? Was this their style of relationship? Often this is a very learned behavior. She definitely needs the help to get out of this behavior and if there is conflict on to a better way to express and deal with it. If you are going to stay, you need help also. Help to deal with the trauma she has caused(you will need that even if you move on as it will affect future relationships). Help to know how to help her and to defuse the situation and not feed it. If sh… | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/08/23 03:59 PM
Need advice. Do I go for broke? [TX]Make her a sweet deal on the house. You keep the house as is and only take $50k from her retirement. By law and I'm not a lawyer but you should be able to get 50% of her retirement and 50% of the house plus spousal support and CS if you can get 50/50 custody. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/07/23 07:36 PM
It’s our faultHad it before I met her. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 11:23 PM
It’s our faultRead again I lost 40 | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 04:57 PM
It’s our faultHmm I pay everything but the grocery bill. Take her places. Wanted to spend time with her. Lost 40 pounds. Bought her pretty much what ever she asked. My roi starfish to no sex. Hot dogs and mac n cheese out of the box. Complaints lots of complaints. Being ignored in my own home. Three adult step sons on my door step. She gained 60+ pounds. So, yeah not feeling it's my fault. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 02:01 PM
CancerSorry about that. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/06/23 08:52 PM

Pls help me not read too much into thisMental picture when you have these thoughts, dog returning to his vomit and eating it. Hopefully that works. Thank me later. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/06/23 04:55 PM
Forgive the rant but I need to air all this out.Unless your profession is psychology, you can't fix that. I don't know how you made 6 months let alone a year. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/23 11:20 AM
Today is my 9 year anniversaryYou got this. Don't beat yourself up too bad. An animal will chew it's own arm off when trapped so anything short of that is understandable. Those who cast judgement didn't walk in your shoes and have no clue. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 08:16 PM
Today is my 9 year anniversaryWell my first marriage was that way. I tried really hard until I couldn't and then I did what everyone vilifies and got a mistress. I'd been accused and mistreated for years so why not. Child was in college so, it was just me and the person I could do nothing right for or enough for. It's not my suggested method but it did give me the self worth and confidence to finally end it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 07:30 PM
Today is my 9 year anniversarySome times it's hard to let go even if you know you need to. Hang in there man. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 06:59 PM
Have your views changed on the idea that women are more empathetic than men?Yet they can be so oblivious to the things that men need in a relationship like they have no clue how to relate, or they just get complacent. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 03:47 PM
Divorce Final....Going back to Court (AITA?)I doubt your ex CPA talked your ex wife into anything. First truth of divorce is you will get f$%ked more by your ex than you ever did by your wife. Second is no agreement is ever made unless it is documented. I'd definitely take her to court even if the end is a zero sum win. Sorry man you are learning the hard way. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 03:32 PM
Strategy/preparation for filing for divorce in 1 yearI mean use the cameras as you will. Can be for your defense, or supporting evidence of her bad behavior. If you wanted to try to fix it. You could put her bad behavior in front of her face. Mine wouldn't even believe the therapist. We had to switch several times because they were all "on my side". I finally recorded her and played it back. Still didn't matter and I just waited for the end. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 01:25 PM
Strategy/preparation for filing for divorce in 1 yearOh I get it. Mine was bat sh!t crazy. I would get yelled at for giving directions even. During the separation she even had to take a 72hr vacation without her belt and cell phone. Yeah it would suck and I'm just giving you food for thought. Really sorry you are in the situation because no matter what you do it sucks. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 01:20 PM
Strategy/preparation for filing for divorce in 1 yearDon't count on the 14 year old. Young men twist around a mothers finger like string. My daughter knew I was the parent the entire time yet when the separation happened she went with mom. Where she was told how much of a deviant I was and how abusive etc. until the devil looked tame. It's taken years to get back to where we have a good relationship and that is probably the biggest hurt of all. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 11:54 AM
Strategy/preparation for filing for divorce in 1 yearI would suggest seeking out several lawyers. Not all are equal. I have had in the past conflicting advice. I would start putting some cash back in a shtf fund. If possible set up security cameras to record where the two of you interact. Expect a DV charge and TRO. Great if it doesn't happen, but better to expect the worst. My ex once she found out I was done made me out to be some raging homicidal monster. Yet even while separated I fixed her car and took care of things. I was the wage earner so… | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 11:48 AM

Should I(28M) reach out to my wife(29F) who wants a divorce. All I can say is this woman has more issues than National Geographic, and it sounds like she has no room for any kind of relationship except a clinical one. I would just legally protect yourself accept this, and work on moving on. She treats you badly and treats herself almost worse? What is your attraction? If you met her today as she is would you date her? Would you marry her? Be honest with yourself. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/06/23 04:50 PM
Are these good enough reasons for me (31M) to divorce my wife (31F)?You're 3 months in, you will focus on what you are losing. Give it 6-8 months and you will be glad with your freedom. The divorce process sucks. There is no emotional support and usually a financial fleecing for the man. Find emotional support where you can, and a good lawyer is worth his weight in gold. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/06/23 02:46 PM
Are these good enough reasons for me (31M) to divorce my wife (31F)?Push a little harder for the things you need to be happy and you won't need to make the decision, she will. Sounds like a horrible version of odd fellows. You know that your life passions and goals are not aligned and the romantic life doesn't sound so amazing. Yeah she's a nice person and you're a nice person that doesn't make a relationship. Do not have a baby!!! If you want, try marriage counseling at least you will stimulate the economy and know you did everything you could. In the end it so… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/06/23 02:31 PM

Men teaching men - asking for advice and your insightsDon't get married or have children at all. Ask yourself this, If you were a few weeks in to dating and life was like this would you continue? It sounds like this person is all about take and little about give or even care. | 2 | A question to the forumThe total inability to be a team on anything. I remember talking about finances while we were both going to community college and her wanting to quit her job to concentrate on school. We had discussed it at length and had not reached a solution. Couple days later I'm blindsided at or daughter's soccer game that she just quit her job. I couldn't afford to support us and both of us go to school so guess who went and who didn't? | 1 | 1 year post divorce. I am in a place I feel I can move on, she wants to reconcile.I'm going to pose this. You don't love her. You love the memory of what was. Two different things and easily confused. You care about her of course, she is the mother of your children. You can love the memories and care about her, but the truth is very likely if you look at who she is now as a new person you won't love her. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/03/23 04:08 PM

Male or Female attorney? My first divorce I had a man and he did ok. Ex wanted it done quickly and so did I. Grown child and only property was a gift of land from my parents and her 401k. She tried to make me pay half the land until my lawyer mentioned I was entitled to half of the 401k, so we called it a wash. Doing it again now and chose a woman. We'll see this one might try to put her hooks in a little deeper, but again no property and no children. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/23 04:53 PM
It finally clickedAll normal feelings man. Contrary to most I would still lend my ex a shoulder to cry on. Sure we didn't work out in the end, but we worked for a time. About 18 of the 22 years I'd say. Life is to short to be angry or hurt. Humans make mistakes and they change over time , and it's time that just keeps going on. You really don't know why she tried to move on, and obviously it was a crash and burn so nothing wrong with some human compassion. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/02/23 07:43 PM

What's worse is when you see your grown child chooses the ex or in laws over you often when it comes to association. Super bowl parties, weekends, other activities. | 2 | 1 Year After Divorce: Venting and Still Seeking HelpSpend time with your child. I worked my ass off most of my daughter's growing years and yes I could give her a good childhood and life as a young adult, but regret daily the time I missed seeing her grow up and now see her rarely. Take the time to make this most advantageous for you because no matter what you will get the worst of it. Don't rush or declare until you get these things done. | 2 | Was divorce the biggest failure of your life?It feels like a failure but in reality you can only own part of it at best. Like they say it takes two to tango. Most people who aren't happy are not happy with themselves more than anything else. Stop beating yourself up. Sounds like you put in the effort, and she checked out. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/01/23 02:32 PM |
STBXW claims I ruined her life, career and any chance of us being friendsDo not walk but run away from this. It will not get better only worse. I tried to be the good guy even fixed the stbx car twice while paying spousal maintenance. Yet I was a "narcissistic ass". She came after me for half of the value of the property my parents gave us, until I was informed I had rights to half of her 401k. Filed her own bankruptcy while I was paying for a joint one $2500 in legal fees burnt. Then blocked me everywhere. So yeah just run away as fast as you can. | 11 | Am I "being strong" or just numb?Give it time. It's kind of like grieving and everyone does it differently. Sounds like you are a bit in shock of it all and the process really doesn't give a lot of space for emotional separation it's pretty much business. Good luck this situation sucks for all involved. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/11/22 06:54 PM

Urged her to get the help she needed , and thanked her for helping raise our wonderful daughter. Went so far as to tell her she would always be family eve… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/11/22 02:14 PM |

After 25 years, I think it's over. We just had our anniversary, and my wife barely acknowledged it.I know bailing is the usual way to go. Have you tried couples counseling? Not saying it will work. It didn't for me, but I had the solace that I had done everything possible. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/10/22 06:43 PM
