If you can live rent free and you get along with your mum, why move out? She probably enjoys the company (trust me, time will fly and you’ll miss those days with your mum) and you can focus on getting settled and even more financially secure... wait until this whole COVID thing blows over and future seems a little more secure. My two cents.

This guys advice is worth gold. I too was in a similar situation. I cannot tell you what I’d do to say what needed saying, delete everything and move on months before it ended. I get that it’s unlikely, but if you can move on now you’ll have a happier story than the both of us.

It’s not an explicit goal. It’s just a process that’s happening. For example, if you run a business and you are wealthy, the people who are complaining loudest tend to be feminists. This has been proven in multiple studies - women are more easily antagonized and less forgiving in terms of public policy. So you kind of just roll with it; the young men on your team don’t kick up a fuss about things - they aren’t the immediate problem.

Basically, over the last 3 decades women have gained more power in government and business. This has two effects: 1. People who are more like women benefit, and; 2. Leadership in the western world, whether in business or government, is increasingly feminine. By “death by a thousand cuts” what I mean is that small things that we don’t think are a big deal, add up, especially over decades. We don’t even realize society is changing, because it’s in very small ways that are hardly noticed. Suddenly.…

I disagree with most people’s take. It assumes a level of control and planning that would frankly be staggering. I believe it is because we live in a society that indulged and tolerate the very worst in feminism. Either through direct complicity or indifference. The result is that feminine traits are free to propagate. It’s not an active intervention, it’s death by a thousand cuts.

That’s your lot mate. People who go through hardship have the power to transform inadequacy into rage, and channeled rage is a super power. That’s the gift you have that people with life served on a plate don’t. Now, you can definitely create a plan to address your perceived inadequacies, it will feel better that you are moving toward them. Remember that most men are poor, out of shape, boring, uneducated... the competition bar is not high. It’s a game of limbo and it’s only getting lower. If I …

That sounds like an incredibly difficult decision to make. I don’t have any advice, but I had a friend in a similar situation to you, and he said Stoicism really helped him make the right decisions. Good luck OP, you are of a man than most of us

Great response, really level headed and mature of you. You should be proud! Now like every other commenter says, move on and never look back.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
