It’s not your responsibility. But as I see it. By refusing to protect her from the consequences of her actions, you give her one last opportunity to learn from your leadership.

I don’t think my situation applies to most break ups. We were extremely young when we married and didn’t have ill intentions we both just co-created a poisonous relationship that was better giving up than dancing a dance of co-enabling for a lifetime. We didn’t have children. We cut our losses and are now better for the future. As men, our job is to love and protect women. These young women were never taught by their mothers to be women. Deep down they all desire to be loved. And they can be stu…

Your comment speaks more about you than about a man’s life you know little of.

I knew it was over many times while I was crying while opening up about how I felt and it was just met with indifference and silence. I was trying to keep a strong face but basically telling her it’s not going to work and she just wasn’t responsive. I eventually left and only then she suddenly cared and wanted to try harder. It’s always harder because I quickly forget the bad times and have nostalgia of the good moments. It comes in waves. I don’t feel as happy in my current situation but at lea…

If there’s been no cheating, and you really don’t want to end things for the kid’s sake, have you considered couple’s therapy together? Why do you resent and can’t stand her? For me, I really tried everything and kicked the can down the road probably 20 times first and now finally I’m at peace knowing I really did try my best with her. Maybe it’s okay that you’re holding on, and when you finally do go for it you won’t doubt it.

I appreciate the perspective on this but I would make $350 a month max and it’s a hassle - I make a lot more in my business it’s not really a factor

Yeah, it’s hard. Feels like a cage I’m in. I don’t want to hurt anyone but I don’t want this disrespect and betrayal in my life anymore

Basically my thoughts. She’s only around for the comfort I’m a “safe choice” - she even said that to him once I read the messages. nah fuck that. I’m somewhat glad logically she revealed all this before I dedicated my entire life and had kids with her . I’m so young and I’m doing very well financially - it’s just awfully painful to do all of this it’s such a mess emotionally. I’m struggling to pull the plug. But I live apart now and have told her it’s over. Baby steps :’) but I’m moving forwards…

I don’t know if she’ll cheat in our current isolated situation… but I think if she had an easy opportunity- she probably would and turn around and say she never felt loved or cared for anyway and blah blah . I can see her turning on me like that

Thanks man. Yeah I love her but she clearly only loves the comfort and affection I give… she doesn’t love ME or at least doesn’t respect me - sigh. I’ve exhausted my options I really feel like I tried for 2 years to work through everything and yet I still feel like a failure for this failed marriage What if I had set boundaries earlier What if I had been better What if what if

Thanks my man, I appreciate you. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done but I’m not tolerating bullshit from this women and letting her take my life and financially abuse me and get child custody. And more importantly than everything else - I’m doing this for my future kids. I won’t bring my dear children into that toxic selfish environment

Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of and expect. Whenever she gets a real chance and doesn’t have to worry about her security. If she had a good job, and good colleagues and didn’t need me - I don’t think she’d be loyal unfortunately. Damn it’s so hard to accept that she’s a narcissist cause the person she portrays when she’s happy is kind and loving and gentle…

Lying on our vows… I think was the last straw for me. The marriage never existed.

I’ve tried getting on the same page with communication. She behaves kindly for a while but then gets bratty again. She has never respected me unfortunately. And the cheating was really the last straw I was already feeling unloved and disrespected. I pulled so much weight and built a life for us, while she was flirting with my friends and talking about me behind my back. She’s sorry only now cause she got caught and because I have an amazing life and financial situation she won’t get any of if we…

I cut him along time ago. He ended the conversations too ironically.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
