You're not an honest person if you're saying that feminists and mra's are as bad as each other. We are entirely morally superior to them. And you already know this in your heart.

I have a lot of sympathy for her. She was treated like a male would be, but without any prior expectation of it beforehand, and that must have left her very quickly in a very hard place. She deserved to be prosecuted, but it's always pretty awful for people who get caught on the cutting edge of social change. When she threw that lamp, the idea of being a domestic abuser probably didn't even register in her mind, because she was a woman. It's a great thing things are beginning to change, but I st…

This stuff is so important because all these historical false assumptions create the present, they are what make so many people give feminism a free pass for the way it acts, thinking patriarchal history gives them unimpeachable mandate. But it doesn't. They're just bigots. It's a pity there's no real way to make people understand this, but once historical assumptions solidify, there's very little changing them, because society never really look backwards once a thing is done. People will always…

I think the key thing that's killing them is how incredibly boring woke politics is to read about. The fact that it's also evil is just sweet cosmic dovetailing.

Hi, great to have you here. What made you change? When I left feminism I went through a time of wondering whether it was because of a change in it or in me. Brief history lesson, 1st wave: right to vote, 2nd wave: workers, and legal rights, 3rd wave: individualism and diversity, 4th wave of feminism: extremism. It's not really that simple, though, is it? Each wave of feminism generates the next one. The many problems of feminism haven't just suddenly sprung out of nowhere just recently, they're …

I'm possibly being a bit too harsh on the Egard people. edit: though I do genuinely think there's problems with the ad. And i don't think the reaction is proportionate. Like, lots of people are talking about buying watches they specify they don't really need just because these guys are so awesome, and I don't get that. We should ask more for ourselves, and require more of our heroes.

It's like they can't get enough satisfaction out of having every device in society being in their favour in their day to day interactions with men. This is them going going out of their way just to pour a cup of misery and intimidation into the lives of men they never even meet. It's just so mindblowingly cruel, hyprocritical and rancid. I think its time to shun the feminists in my life, even if they're not part of stuff like this, it never seems to bother them enough. (Because those figures are…

Thanks, I have a sneaky love of posts like this because there's so many women who just can't recognise anti-male sexism even when its occurring right in front of them. It's not that they're bad people, it's just that they don't have the ability to register the concept. So it means a lot.

Bet she won't apologise. She's a smart cookie who wouldn't say this unless she was prepared to stand by it. She's taken a lot of very nasty heat throughout her career and she's used to it. Also, she's an active feminist, so she's not just wading blindly into this. And they always go easier on their own. In fact, she can probably only say this and get away with it because she is a feminist woman, and it could even be good pr for them. A tiny fig leaf offered after having used their power to run m…

I have huge congratulations to this place. I don't post often or know anything about how its run, or how much tightrope walking must have gone on over the years to keep it alive and free, but whoever's responsible has done an amazing job. This was a really important early station point in our battle, and it still continues to be, despite the ups and downs. I hate the term "safe space" too much to ever use it sincerely in conversation, but this place is like that to me from feminism. Congrats on …

I'm willing to work with feminists too, but we're not starting out as equals here. Feminism has treated men terribly, in both very obvious ways (its words and actions) and also by insiduous damage through its sustained hostility and oppressiveness towards men over a very long time. I'm willing to work with anyone if I have any sort of reason to trust them going forward, but for feminism to achieve that, it would have to first admit it has got a lot of things very wrong, and show some serious res…

This! Feminism does not represent women. Something being done in your name does not implicate you in it. Even if feminism has done huge crime to men and is a big part of the reason that women are the lucky gender right now, it still doesn't make the average woman our enemy. It's happened now, and to some degree we just have to suck it up with good grace. It's easy to get all squirrelly about this stuff, becasue feminists have been getting away with appalling hate for so long, and these days they…

I don't agree with that line of attack here. The genderflip is brilliant in some situations (like Jezebel perving on male Olympians or what have you), but it should be used judiciously. Mens' issues are different to women's, in both the things that they are and the contexts they exist in, and men's rights activism is incredibly different to feminism (I should hope). If we can't approach things in a specific way, how can we ever get anywhere?

Imo, they're easily the best of the British news channels Sky > ITV >>>> C4 (3 arrows for employing Cathy Newman)>BBC On the whole of what I've seen, they're about the best you can reasonably expect, they have an understated skepticism towards feminism. Which isn't saying a huge amount I know, and they're not in any real way on our side, but I can remember them covering men's day last year pretty well, in a kind of spirit of exotic intruige that while not exactly getting the point, wasn't hostil…

I couldn't support any form of men's rights that had anything remotely like feminism's track record of sexism, even as a very normal nice person. At this point, they're wilfully ignorant, happy to ignore the actual reality of feminism because of the benefits it gives them to be one. I know several feminists, and they are all lovely people. And all very determined in a manic ostrich kind of way to remain like that, even if it takes them to the point of dishonesty.

I was one. My best explanation is that growing up as a male in the 00's I felt there was some kind of unspoken accord in place, that they as women owned the gender conversation and all that came with it, and me as a (non-identifying) man was to understand that I was to stay away from all that. Didn't have to think about it. Wasn't allowed to think about it. Which both meant exactly the same thing to me until I ran into the gender equality (ha ha ha) society in college, and at that time as I was …

I had a moment like that too, about religion, around the same age as you (though sadly not in Jerusalem, which must be the absolute most fitting place to have it. :p) I can't say I've ever thought about religion and gender issues in terms of having possible parallels (because I consider feminism to be the bad guy in a way I don't about any religion), but that's definitely something to think about.

I think it's great for us. One of the biggest frustrations of being an MRA is that people (probably with good reason) just don't want to have to think about gender related stuff, because they know how poisonous and spirit-sapping it is. So even though we're pretty much entirely right, it's very hard to actually bring this to their attention. But anything sports, people are all over that like a bad rash. And here's a textbook feminist temper tantrum, with immediate recourse to blaming it on men, …

It's not the same thing at all. Top gear is a mainly masculine show, but if there were a qualified tomboy female who were interested in being on the team everyone, the hosts, the producers, the audience, the channel.... would be delighted to have her on board. Here, males are being specifically excluded (in politics, a neutral arena). The 6th woman selected was chosen p;urely on the basis of excluding men, as a bragging right. It's being done deliberately just to brandish their sexism, in an att…

I think there's a lot more of us than can be reckoned, because there's no real way of counting hands in this climate. Now usually of course we'd be merrily going around slapping any promising looking stranger on the butt so as to find each other, but the penalties for a false positive are just a wee bit too high right now. Yep, totally agree. We wouldn't give a fuck if it wasn't because we want revenge for having been the fish in the barrel in their horrible, demented campaign over so many years. We can never have that revenge, and we shouldn't want to either. It's understandable, but ultimately it means we're still being led by the nose by feminists. Taking their lead in how we react to things. I don't believe deep down any people here really believe this man has been traumatised. The woman was just having a bit …

But if we're taking bets, (and c'mon, this sounds fun), I don't think he's very likely at all to get confronted, either verbally or physically. People who do that kind of thing only strike when they're safe in their pussy hats at womens marches. Because they know full well they don't have a decent argument, the only way any feminist has ever won an arguement is through their confidence that noone has the nerve to challenge them. GirlWritesWhat on YouTube is great on dismantling patriarchy theory,. Try her out if you haven't already. For me the main problem is the "women are wonderful" effect (which is consistently verified by testing). Men treat women better than other men, and women treat other women far better then men. So feminism, by stating (as fact) that all men band together to subjugate women- a) makes men afraid of supporting each other, b) makes women feel they have to band together to protect themselves again…

I don't believe any artwork can ever be misandrist or misogynist, because both these labels just place limits on the stories that we can tell. Art should never have to undergo a purity test, and it never had to until feminists implanted this way of thinking in us.

The mannny faaaaaaacces... of Louis Walsh! Look, he's a sodden old leprechaun eejit who, if he's not already in deep trouble for this, is being protected by his rarified power. Don't worry, if me or you did this (anywhere, but especially on television!), it'd be an open and shut case. This is an outlier. It's not even slightly a regular occurence. As is good. Te problem with this law is that the truth is we live in a "he said, she said, so then she's right" culture, and that's virtually certainly the guy's real objection to this. He can't say it, as that in itself would be the certain ruin of him. (this in itself is also an indicator of the rampant misandry of the system), but he probably wants to defend the men who will inevitably suffer from it and be thrown to the wolves on the basis of pure allegation. Thanks for your words of kindness. Sometimes the amount of shit we get as men can make us forget that the vast majority of women are kind like you. And of course, it's very awkward for you to come to address us, because while you didn't approve this man-hating stuff, and you don't owe us an apology (because none of it is your doing), it can be very hard to come talk to an oppressed group without fear of sounding patronising or like you are trivialising pain. But the good news is that the BOE *did* pick the best candidate, despite his being male, and their being fully aware of how that decision was going to go down with their kissing cousins at the BBC. The BBC always has been and always prob will be feminist central. But this article, while its every bit as hateful in spirit as anything the BBC publishes regarding identity (which is about 92% of its overall content) is very low energy, and doesn't read as a serious call to arms. It doesn't necessarily mean they're sexist against men, it could just be they want to avoid unnecessary problems and have reasonably identified feminists as people who it'as best to err on the side of caution with. If they were falsifying the men's descriptors that'd concern me a lot more, but "The format of "Why are x so..." is going to naturally have negative words to finish. It's chilling, isn't it. The way they think. What they assume about the easiness of our lives, how they feel we owe them something. How they're always instinctively moving to shut us out, from cradle to the grave. How little we register as actual people with them. How our feelings don't even matter. Wow, yes, what a post, I could not agree more. Male Feminists of his ilk are people who just need to feel special and garlanded, they don't care where it's coming from. They would be steaming misogynists if they thought the climate would celebrate them for it. The term "anti-feminism" is about more than disagreeing with the tenets or practices of feminism. I like her, and hold her to be many classes above most famous feminists (along with Christina Hoff-Summers and Camille Paglia). Yeah, so The Female Eunuch is clearly eye-wateringly strong in its condemnation of men, but in it there's a very heartfelt and brave writing style, that of someone defining and exploring a new language and way of understanding. I hear what you say, and I always hate to see bitter and defeatist posts here. I hope we never censor, but I wish people who are just posting here to bemoan the horrible prejudice of the world without trying to move things forward could at least be civil. However: a) I don't think these posts are as frequent as you make them out to be. b) A lot of people are justified in their anger. c) Anyone deciding their opinion of the MRA movement as a whole (or of feminism, for that matter) from a hand-pic…

Also (in case you weren't aware of this), men's rights aren't only concerned with the well-being of men, we want freedom and opportunity for women too. To be anti-feminist is not at all the same thing as to be anti-female, thats the fundamental point of Men's Rights, and the one feminists are the most afraid of ever becoming common knowledge. We can't succeed unless it's as a voice for everyone, and we wouldn't want to, either. It's true that a large part of our opposition to feminism is due to …

It's alright. :) You can choose whatever you want to be, and change it as you want over time. You don't need anyone's permission, and you don't have to label yourself at all unless you feel you want to. I personally could never consider myself as both of the two because I don't consider feminism to be an equality movement, so I'm a men's rights ally in opposition to feminism in the same way that old-school feminists were in opposition to the patriarchy, I feel feminism is the enemy system we're …

This study lists Mulan as one of the most male-dominated films: do you think it's a reasonable argument to say that Mulan supports an anti-female agenda? If it gives men 60% speaking time so they can have adequate screentime to really expand on how just incredibly misogynistic they are, but then Mulan only needs a comparitively brief 40% (because that cat's as fast as lightning) to cut their balls off in counterpoint, does that make it sexist? (And what about the dragon? What share of talkiness …

I've never really looked forward to it, but over the years I remember usually being pleasantly surprised to realise the Oscars is happening during the coming weekend, and if free I usually ended up watching as much of the coverage as was available. It was cheesy, sometimes braindead, and unfailingly mawkish, but also kinda sweet, like the Eurovision, and it always gave me the warm fuzzies. This year, wild horses wouldn't have compelled me to watch one second of it. I turned off the news tonight …

I don't think the vast majority of women support the feminist agenda. Just because something is done in your name doesn't implicate you in it. The real nasties of feminism would love nothing more than to make men think women are the enemy.

Thanks for doing this. There's generally a low energy level on this sub, and an air of defeatism, which is understandable and excusable because one of the worst results of feminism is how successful it has been in making these traits associated with men. There's also a high level of petulant moaning, which is also understandable but less excusable (because if you're going to be here at least try and be helpful), so any post with this much consideration and hopefulness behind it is great to see. …

I fucking liked that magazine. I subscribed to it because it was intelligent and thorough but also winningly playful and light-hearted: I really appreciated their sensibility, whenever I got their magazine or typed in their URL it was with a sense of cosiness. It hurts my heart to see this more than anything since Crackd went Social Justice (and then bankrupt! Just saying, Macleans...)~ Whether they're blinded idiots, actively bigoted, or just pandering to the demographic they think'll feed them…

I disagree. I know this double-standard is infuriating, and that it's only one of many that us blokes feel the sharp end of, and the feeling that no-one cares makes us want to just lash out in anyway we can. But ask yourself: Do you really want this? Is that really what matters? Would your proposed campaign being successful make things better? Maybe you feel it would, but I think "No! Not at all! It would make thing worse!" I hate the widespread acceptance of the theory that the portrayal of a f…

Hello :) Firstly, I'll just say that I am all for everyone of every gender being free to be who they want to be, how they want to be it, just like the vast majority of other people here. And I hate feminism, but not feminists themselves. Just in case any of that wasn't a given. Anyway, I can't help with any German specific issues (sorry!) but this website is from a Western European viewpoint, and may be similar enough. I highly recommend it. mra-uk.co.uk And you could also go look at the videos …
