Your last paragraph I can agree to. I think it becomes much more difficult if you already have a family and finances are tied up. Maybe my idea works in those situations as a compromise. For the kids I believe it is still a effective solution for your sanity and ego to remain intact. Ideally finding a girl who already won't do that is best. So if you are young and she is too, fuck her and find someone better. Don't settle if you don't have to.

Women are children, teenagers. Telling them not to do something explicitly will (to some) make them want to do it. It's in their nature. Doesn't mean you punish them forever.

It 100% makes a difference. It might not be the most important but it is important. It shows at the very least you are not a total loser. You are someone who cares about his health and being fit, someone with energy.
