As far as I know the feelings are not reciprocated (by him), which would be a reason why nothing has happened. Still she longs for him in some capacity even if the limerence has dialed down after almost 3 years. We have talked to several other (older) couples and therapists regarding this and everyone seems to think that having a "crush" in a marriage is normal, which fucks me up. Don't get my wrong, I am well aware that the reason why she has strayed is because I have been weak.

I appreciate this comment. I have clearly stated my boundaries, which is don't hang out with the dude. Simple. But I have been too weak to enforce it. She plays dumb, claims that she doesn't understand what boundaries she is crossing. So I'm jumping through the hoops of trying to explain it in other ways. She thought I would be OK with inviting him because "she doesn't have feelings for him anymore".

The only enforcement I have is to leave. But then it's game over either way. I have tried to find another way

I confess, I am indeed a beta pussy. She said her infatuation is over and she no longer has feelings for him, which should make it alright to invite him.

Books will help you to navigate. To internalize you need introspection: eg identify what pisses you off and then enforcing boundaries. If someone says or does A and it crosses your boundary you need to put those people into their ”place ”. Will work with all relationships. You will become more aware as time goes on and initially you will only react after you have reflected upon the conflict. Previously you wouldve let it go. Slowly you Will become more aware of your boundaries and instead of an …

I'm sure she thought "just in case", but the results are still the same (for me). You, the only woman in this thread among 235 comments, are the only one that has suggested we could work it through. Interesting...

If something would happened to my kids I'd hang the stepfather or whoever. :( Funny, even in a hypthetical case my wife gets away with it, even if she put the kids in danger by exposing the kids to another man

For companies in rapid expansion they can choose the venture capital path where the company can absorb large amounts of capital. The business IS the ownership structure for the venture capitalists. Suddenly the company becomes a "financial tool" in some sense. In order for continous funding e.g. series A, B, C etc the ownership has to look a certain way. If wife got half of the equity the cap table gets fucked and no further funding will be possible.

It may be a similar character trait between these two women then i.e. insecurity. I was ironically being accused of cheating as well - although it was she that fell in love with another man. Running a company, taking care of kids and her .. how would I even have time for an affair... When did you break up with her, on the spot or did it take a couple of years?

I dont think you understand what I have put into the company. It's not easy to explain. It's not necessarily about the money. This quest has been in my mind every day for 10 years.

Yeah, but less over time. It's weird. Last few months I have decided not to come (she comes) because I dont want to waste energy. Feeling depleted after climax is the worst, especially next day. Somehow I have become a celibate monk. Last time we slept together (last week) I felt sick. Feeling used, like a dildo. Perhaps the body is catching up and says "no".

Yes, this is true. But in order to pay her I'd need to sell some (most?) of my stock. It would take decades to earn that kind of cash from a salary

In her eyes, the suspicion and subsequent actions was valid - so there really is no regret from her side. I dont think she can empathize with me. During the social service investigation she had the sudden realization that she(!) could lose the kids

Vesting is actually a good idea, starting with 0% stock and receiving it all at once after some years (after divorce). Legally I will not own anything at that point. Could work!

It was the doctor that had the legal obligation to investigate child abuse by taking it to social services. Wife claims she didn't know the doctor would take it to social services, although she worked in healthcare. Impossible to prove one way or the other. It was her only indirectly, but it's far fetched and impossible to prove.

I dont put too much weight in what she says. She is showing that she doesn't want to be with me nor the kids (she's barely home). Writing this she has been home for 3 days

I dont know if she was or is sleeping with the guy. It's probable. No, if I transfer my stocks to parents or whoever the value of the stock has to be taxed the same year that the stocks was transferred, which will be milions of $.

No, the accusations came first. Then after a year or so she started working and fell in love. But could have been the plan with a hypothetical male, who knows

We talk alright, she knows my perspective and that I have a difficult time with the accusations. But I'm not sure anything helps (for me), be it talking or going to therapy. I think my brain is preventing me from realizing it has happened because when I found out about being accused and having social services come, it felt surreal. It felt like I was in a movie, seeing myself in 3rd person. It still feels very distant, not quite real. It is something I could read about having happened to someone…

I had the mindset that divorce was never an option, which I communicated to her. We should work things out, I thought. Bad strategy. Now she could do whatever she wanted to without consequences. But I did file for divorce after her having told me she was in love with a coworker, although I retracted the papers after a few weeks. Also a bad strategy.

At this point in time there is really no pressing issue in the relationship, at least on the surface. We get along. In theory we could continue as is. But I wake up at night....

If you want kids and have a legacy you would have to deal with a woman in either case. Tricky in this day and age.

I am practically raising the kids by my own. When she started working 2-3 years ago she said it was "her turn" to focus on career, since I had put alot of hours into my company. She works way more hours than me - and I'm a CEO! Not sure if that includes fucking coworkers. She is on work trips/courses on average 2 days a week, working every other weekend and have late activities 2-3 times a week. So she's barely home.

Unfortunately not, it's a company in tech including hardware, software and having filed patents. Will lead to large infrastructure projects... The worst business to start over with

She never apologized. She doubled down. Because if I would have been a molester then she would have made the right choice, which she didnt know before the went to the hospital etc, or so she says.

90% of women commit to emotional infidelity at some point during the course of a marriage (I am not sure if it has been physical, but it is probable). That part is hurtful, but sometime I could overcome. The accusations of molestation however I'm not sure how I could overcome...

Letting some other man fuck my wife? Not sure about that i principle. In practice, perhaps if its in good manner i.e. discrete. Haven't thought about it. It would be the easy way, keeping the company intact, keeping the family household together.

I don't think I have any legal means to press charges. It wasn't a case filing, rather it went through the healthcare system. The doctor had the legal obligation to send it further to social services. It's the same proceeedings as if the doctor was dealing with a hurt kid but the doctor had a suspicion that the parents had anything to do with the kid being hurt i.e. parents hurting the kids.

I founded the business during our marriage so she will be entitled to half of my stock. If she gets half of my stock a major part of the company will be "dead equity". Venture capital will never continue to fund a company when the founder suddenly lost half of his equity...

I did lose it to some degree. I cried for the very first time in front of her during the social service investigation. I believe she lost respect for me even more at that point...

My son who was two years at the time was rambling some words that my wife interpreted as me having molested my daugther, so it wasn't just the rash. But if I would have heard those same words at that time I could have never believed that my wife was a molester, which goes to show how she things of me to begin with.

Yeah, I feel the (possible) infidelity is overshadowed by accusations of molestation. It's a pity if it goes the wrong way. I built my business for 10 years which could have changed a whole industry. I could be homeless if the business falls a part since I'm a guarantor for large loans the company has...

I thought so. What makes me unsure is that people in our social circles have no idea. On the outset we are the perfect couple. I sometimes wonder if other couples go through the same or similar things, even if they never talk about it.

Monkey branching is indeed a reasonable hypothesis. Since then I have improved vastly in terms of personal fitness, establishing a structure for my daily life and engaging in my interests as well as developing my business further. Suddenly the coworker isnt as interesting anymore - at some point my future was better than the coworker. She isnt in love with the coworker anymore. But it has indeed left an emotional scar and I see her very differently now. I improve myself for me and even if I coul…

Well, even if it comes out as harsh there is some truth to what you are saying. If it wasn't actually me who wrote this but someone else I would also have thought it was a whiny weak beta boy. But this is me and sure, I could have left the moment she accused me. But then my business would have crashed then and there and I could potentially have lost my children, especially if the accusations was "fresh" and could have been used in the divorce proceedings. There probably was a feeling of certaint…
