Because it's the chaos she is after and not the person. The drama and excitement is what she wants to catch. She will cheat on the drug dealers and losers too. Cheating is a thrill to people like that and nothing you could do can compare to what they get from it.

By not taking her actions as a reflection of yourself. You're beating yourself up over something you have no control over. It's only emasculating because you feel like you are somehow responsible. You aren't. A cheater is going to cheat regardless of anything you do.

Justice is not the goal of the American legal system. Especially not family court. When I truly accepted that I was able to quit getting worked up over it and start playing the game too. I wish I would have done that much sooner, my kids needed that from me and I let them down. I'm making up for it now though.

Sure! 40/M/Nashville. 5'10 strawberry blonde and blue eyes. I like motorcycles (sports bikes) and video games (PC/PS5). I play guitar (badly) and work out (irregularly). Also into boxing, both training and watching. In decent shape with a bit of a gut because I love my chocolate milk. I eat steak for breakfast lunch and dinner whenever possible. Just moved into a huge house and looking for someone to help fill all the empty spaces, including the ones in me. No idea if I'm a top or bottom, I've n…

I'm leaning more and more towards dating guys. I've always been curious and I think I'm going to give it a shot. I downloaded Grindr last night. I'm still not ready for a relationship but I can prob find a cuddle buddy without too much problem.

They have his kid, a 3yr old, saying she loves her. It was barely 2 months ago we were swapping highly emotional texts for hours every day. I know I shouldn't stalk her social media and I usually roll my eyes at what I read but this one is something else.

I feel like I do understand them. I think I'm going to date dudes going forward.

Just found out my ex jumped into another relationship and already moved in together. Wanted to say after reading this it really helped me stay settled. It stung for a moment but the more I think about it the more I laugh, that dude is in for quite a time. She is still married, can't stop angry texting me, and is involved with his children. I honestly feel for them but it's not my monkeys and not my circus. Wanted to say thanks again and point out how this really helped me through a specific emot…

Sounds like you could use some wokeness. If you insist on living in hate don't be surprised when you end up with a hateful life. Woke isn't something to be afraid of. Awakening to an emotional world and providing care and comfort for yourself and others is a good thing. It's how we love and it's how we heal.

Yes I had to get away quite a bit at the tail end of the marriage. Never to see anyone else, simply to get away from all the abuse.

All you can do is keep giving yourself grace and encouragement. It's a marathon, not a sprint. You will absolutely get there. I need more moments myself and I will get there too.

I've never read anything so poignant. I'm on divorce #2 and I can second everything about this post. I've actually been making moves to start dating again, it's 6 months post split, but this encourages me to wait a bit longer. I do have a lot still left to settle.

Understand that you matter and reconnect with yourself. Make yourself your top priority. Quit blaming and judging yourself. You've been through a lot and you're hurting really bad. Of course you're going to make mistakes. Give yourself grace, take the time and the actions that you need to get yourself to a safe and comfortable place, especially safety from and comfort with yourself. Once you're there you will find things like motivation come easily. When you put yourself first you'll find it muc…

You're assuming AL is a reasonable place with reasonable people. Family judges have absolute power with no real oversight. Even child support they arbitrarily modify based on their whims. All it takes is an ex with low morals and/or a judge with a chip on their shoulder and next thing you know you are fucked, legally, with no recourse. It's not a place of rationality or fairness.

The bigotry is full force in this post. Sorry you have to deal with that. There are some really shitty people on this sub.

No. 7 years later she still fucks with me. New husband and new kid yet I'm still the favorite toy. I hope y'all don't have kids. I told her I won't even speak with her until she gets into trauma therapy, emails only until then.

Judge gave my ex the house and left me with the mortgage, completely in my name. She stopped paying, I couldn't afford it along with my place, and they wouldn't kick her out so I could sell. The house foreclosed and I was left with 7 years of shit credit. It finally dropped off this year. This was in AL. Good luck.

The problem is when toxicity is used to create that strength, turning it toxic as well.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
