100k is 85th percentile for individuals. Now even assuming more men than women above that, we're already at 15-20% of the male population tops. 250k is roughly 98th percentile meaning 2-3% at most.

I disagree. There are loads of people who work all their lives not because they want to, but because they have financial obligations that force them to. Those people are definitely not FIRE.
/r/MGTOW14/01/21 07:51 PM

That's essentially what FIRE is. It's not about quitting and lazing around, it's about having the financial freedom to work as much or as little as you want on what you want.

The issue isn't lack of balls, it's lack of desire to buy clothes. All of my clothes except for some jeans and work boots were bought by women in my family, or given to me by work. I bet most of those men's clothes sales would normally be bought by women for their partner/family or by men shopping with women who are goaded into it.

IMO unless you really hate where you live, stick with the good job. Those are hard to come by especially now. Also as someone who has lived in various places including Oregon, you could do worse. Also you never know where your job might take you. Mine gave me the opportunity to live overseas for a while, and live in a few other places too. Living in a different culture can be a good learning experience, but unless you are going to move overseas you probably won't have a much different lifestyle …

Whom. "She" is the subject - the one doing the action. "Whom" is the object. Technically this sentence should be "To whom..." You're not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition even though we all do it commonly.

You ever tried home brewing? It's pretty fun. Does require a little investment for equipment maybe $150 or so but most of the equipment can be reused indefinitely. I'm doing a batch of hard cider now, about to bottle.

Nothing wrong with using your anger or competitiveness as motivation. Just always question why you do something and judge if the value to you is worth the investment. Try your best to be honest to yourself about your goals and think about both the short and long term effects of your choices.

Note the $6000 is for an IRA which can be opened separate from an employer. 401k cap is 19500. As a low earner early in a career, if you have the budget to save, a Roth 401k can be better as it is taxed now at your current rate, but the withdrawals later will not be. Of course all that assumes those financial instruments will still be viable in 40 years at retirement age. YMMV.

A man with nothing to lose has everything to gain. You're at the worst possible point now. No power, no autonomy. Keep working on yourself and you can only go up from here. I generally don't recommend a military career, but in your situation it might be a worthwhile option to consider. Also you do not owe your mother anything. You didn't choose to be born, didn't choose your parents. Live your life for YOU, not for anyone else. That's the essence of MGTOW.
/r/MGTOW18/11/20 07:41 AM

Unfortunately it's just something you have to deal with for now. Smile, nod, and ignore everything you learn outside of science, math, and foreign language classes. Maybe pay attention in history but with critical thought.

Also let's call this what it really is. It's not "Cancelling" student loan debt. It's forcing taxpayers to subsidize student loan debt. It's a bailout.
/r/MGTOW17/11/20 08:46 PM
5

If it was a program where only in-demand degrees were subsidized by the government, I would support that. Become a doctor, primary school teacher, structural engineer? Sure, I'll pay taxes for that. Become a women's study major, an art major, literature major? Those are luxuries, pay for it yourself.

I think it's more like "Men need purpose" and taking care of someone can be a strong purpose. So can a meaningful career, good friends, or a big project, and of course it can change over time. Our search for purpose is a big part of life, of being an adult. It sounds like OP was expecting his job to provide his purpose, and it isn't. A job can just be a job, a way to survive.

If you're not clear about what you want upfront you can get taken advantage of. They have windows all around with red lights. If the curtains are open there's usually a girl sitting there in lingerie you can hire. I doubt you will find statistics on it, but let's do some quick napkin math. If roughly 50% of marriages end in divorce, that's 50% that were unhappy. Of the remaining 50%, are all of them happy? Probably not. Dead bedrooms, cheaper to keep her, doing it for the kids, etc. are quite common. Let's say half for the argument. That leaves 25% happy. Plausible, maybe.

I mean, that's what a dowry is. Money paid to the husband to pay for the wife. You just adjusted for inflation and local exchange rates.
/r/MGTOW23/10/20 08:15 AM
15

Also one thing to consider - you say you're in a good place and don't want to pivot. I think this is the wrong perspective. Follow one path while it gives you joy, and then move on when it no longer does. Clinging or grasping is one of the main causes of unhappiness in Buddhism.
/r/MGTOW23/10/20 02:59 AM
12

Sounds like the frustration is from other people not having the same mindset/goals as you do. You might need to focus your efforts on something where you are the sole stakeholder. For me it's building a homestead - planting crops, fixing up buildings, starting an orchard, making wine etc. My mental drive is focused on those things, not on a career (which I do still have) that depends on the whims of others to progress.

Building value for yourself is still worthwhile. Consider what you want, not what is expected of you. If sexual desire is a problem, have a wank before making any decisions, then see how you really feel.

I prefer the tenga eggs to the fleshlight. Have owned both. Eggs are less expensive, easier to clean, more discrete, and allow you to control the pressure more. Somewhat less durable but at the price you can get an 8 pack for less than a fleshlight.

Resistance with bands is ultimately limited. There's no band commercially available that's going to provide the same resistance as a few hundred lbs on a barbell. Edit: I'm not knocking bands, they're great. Versatile and convenient, just better for beginners and light accessory work.
/r/MGTOW05/10/20 04:24 AM
2

You can do a lot with bands if cash or space is an issue. $10 or so for a set of 3 different strengths. Rows, chops, curls, tricep extensions, pullaparts, crunches, pallof press, 1-arm fly, front or lateral raise. Lot of stuff. They won't take you that far compared to weights, but as a beginner it's a super cheap and versatile investment.

No. I didn't take either and now make mid 6 figures / year. Also, unless you really want to move out ASAP, consider community college for 2 years then transfer. A lot of universities have transfer agreements with guaranteed admission if you start as a junior. Your diploma and resume only shows where you finished, not where you started. You can save a lot of $ upfront this way too.

Sounds like you have it figured out. There's no need to define yourself by your job. Lots of people (men) do it, but it's not the only path. Hobbies and skills outside of work can be more meaningful because you pursue them for your own pleasure, not because you're paid to do them. As for the suggestions you asked for... Books: Robert Heinlein (Starship Troopers, Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Stranger in a Strange Land), Asimov's Foundation series, CL Moore's Northwest Smith stories, Bernard Cornwell…

Got mine at 21. Insurance covered half, I paid $300 out of pocket. Was pretty straightforward, got a 15 minute consultation first, procedure a couple weeks later took about 45 minutes with prep, went back once for a semen test about 2 months later. Some soreness for a few weeks after. Nothing serious. I do occasionally get mild epididymitis on one side but it's only an annoyance. Definitely worthwhile. Kept me from getting trapped by crazy broads back before I went mostly monk.

Similar situation. Car is necessary, internet is good for remote work but not an absolute necessity. To OP don't expect to live off the land year round. You will definitely need regular income though can live cheaply as you described. Water is critical, you will need a good well and septic or composting toilet. Farming, gathering, hunting all good ideas. You will need to get good at preserving food too. Canning, vacuum freezing etc. IMO build up skills first if you really want to go all the way …

At some point you're going to hit bottom. Maybe you are now. I can't tell you how or if you will get through it, but I can tell you that you are capable of you really want it. I've had history with both brain damage and addiction and it is possible to move forward but you have to want it and be willing to be uncomfortable. It sounds like you're avoiding any bad feelings. Rather than pursuing the fullness of life you are addicted to shallow pleasure. Accept that sometimes you will feel bad, reall…

I'm not saying that there aren't some advantages to having a girlfriend - enthusiasm, consistency, the non-sexual stuff - but there are also risks especially regarding pregnancy, STIs, drama. I DO encourage you to make your own choices, but I want you to make those choices with the full perspective. Don't let societal programming give you a false, rose-colored view of relationships.

If you're not using a condom with random sluts you're taking a huge risk. Sounds like you're still in the grip of blue pill programming - romance doesn't exist. Or it does only in the sense that it's money and effort spent by a man in order to get sex from a woman. Random girls don't love you, they only love what you provide.

Most people follow the life script - go to school, get married, have kids, work until you die - because they don't consider that they have options. "That's just what people do" is bullshit. YOU decide how YOU want to live YOUR life. No one else gets to make that choice. Certainly observe as much as you can and make informed choices, but make the choices yourself, don't let others make them for you.

The red pill? Sounds like you're taking it, piece by piece. You're experiencing red pill rage, that state of anger at the lies we've been told. Soy proteins act as phytoestrogens, basically mimicking estrogen in the body. Certain plastics can act similarly, known as xenoestrogens. These can negatively affect your hormones. I would say that the extra soy protein added to a lot of processed food (cheaper protein, soy flour, etc.) is a bigger risk than a bit of tofu. Soy sauce and soy lecithin (used in some foods) are not an issue.

Yes that's correct. The opposing mating strategies are hypergamy and polygamy (or polygyny). Women want commitment from the most attractive (status, dominance) man and will trade sex for it, men want sexual access to the most women and will trade status (wealth, prestige) for it. MGTOW generally recognize that wealth and prestige are a lot harder to come by than sexual release, and also that women are no longer expected to hold up their end of the bargain, so we aren't willing to make the trade.

Some intense quotes. Prostitution is evolutionarily familiar, because mating is evolutionarily familiar and prostitutes (at least the classy ones) are no different from other women, whom men also have to pay – not in cash payments but in dinners and movies, gifts, flowers, chocolates, and motor oil Intelligent men are less likely to believe in silly propaganda against us, and less likely to have the kind of fragile masculine ego which would be wounded by "having to pay for it." The quality of women on average is just that bad.
