Nothing to do? What? You should be doing it whenever you're interacting with people. It should never be a mode or switch you flip, it should be a constant state of always on. Don't be like, "ok! I'm going to go out and converse with people for an hour!" There's nothing natural about that. Never be afraid to chat with people, and do it whenever you can. You're a busy guy, just do it with people you come across on your busy day.

You are never going to please everyone and have everyone like you, stop trying to please. I'm still trying to fully learn and embed this. It's so true, and important to realize. But it's also important to learn the balance between knowing you don't have to please everyone and not moving accidentally into jerk attitude territory.

That actually works very well for me. I like that idea and try to utilize when I catch myself not being in the moment, but it's a little like a catch 22. "Oh, I'm not living in the moment, I need to do that now!" which always felt a little weird to me. But the 'expect no outcomes' idea is fantastic. I'll have to try that from now on.

I completely relate to point two. I still find myself more in my own head and thinking about the future when I'm around someone I like. It's difficult sometimes to just disconnect when around them and live in the moment, know what I mean? Anyone have any good tips on how to live more in the moment?
