Wife dragged it out for 4 months, treated me like dirt, and now might want counselling? Too late.Yeah sounds about right. Didn’t move in with the family, moved in with the other guy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/06/25 10:05 PM
How did you finally decide to pull the trigger? After a few years of trying to sort it all out I said to myself over the next 4 weeks do absolutely everything that I think she wants. No matter how stupid and how much shit I have to eat. I did this and ate a lot of shit and she still the same. It didn’t matter what I did she wasn’t going to change regardless. The next day I organised to see a lawyer. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/01/24 01:24 AM
To spend now or wait?No I don’t think so. I’ve heard that the family court rarely has the need or time to go into the specifics of cheap furniture. Honestly I don’t think we’ll make it to court and probably settle with disputing property through arbitration proceedings. I think the best bet here is to go with the cheap IKEA type options. As time moves on, post divorce start to get the things I want. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/01/24 08:19 PM
To spend now or wait?I see IKEA in my future. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/01/24 07:51 PM
To spend now or wait? Thanks that’s the kicker right. It has to be worth it. I can afford it luckily. It’s not going to bankrupt me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/01/24 06:56 PM
To spend now or wait? Thanks for the link. It was good to get another perspective on moving out. TBH moving out just seems like the best option. The conflict will be constant and extreme on her behalf and that has already hurt the kids. I don’t think I can take another 12 months in this house either. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/01/24 06:50 PM
To spend now or wait? The situation isn’t safe if I stay. Moving out is the best choice. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/01/24 06:23 PM
| -5 | To spend now or wait?I had a chat with a lawyer a week back. No problem in leaving the house during the separation. Once I tell the STBX I’m going to divorce her I will have to leave. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/01/24 10:37 AM |
