By allowing it to bother you, you aren't being alpha at all. If anything, you should be the one taking control of her conversation. This guy is completely over thinking it. If she isn't supportive of his dreams, which he has probably expressed to her in the past, then she isn't the one for him. Nobody, male or female, should be selfish enough to deny their significant other an opportunity to fulfill a dream. The fact that he is even considering caving into her is sad to me. He needs to go ahead with or without her. If she is worthy of him, she will follow or work it out.
