It's not that straightforward in India. You can stretch the case for literally decades and live your life king sized because the judicial system is so corrupt. By the time you'll have to pay child support, the kids will have kids of their own. It's not that expensive either, stretching a case doesn't really take much skill and lawyers on both sides are for it because they'd rather have a steady source of income.
