This…some issues are so important that people would waste money rather than agree on something.

For my clarity are premarriege earnings and assets be protected? In 2.5 years whatever is earned and assets built will need to get equitably distributed.

Then don’t marry right now…live a little. Life is too short to waste esp if your heart is not in it. I am not sure why you want to rush to marry..do you want more kids, is 1st GF on clock for kids? It’s ok (in fact better) to break her heart now vs later when you realize you are not get over younger girls..

Don’t marry rebound love…wait a little bit..have a fight and test the relationship. If you still feel good then proceed with care. I know easier said than done.

How did you start mediation immediately after serving? Did she already have a lawyer? My understanding of process is after you serve she has 15-20 days to find a lawyer and if she asks for continuance it can be more. So after you serve and move out there is no way to get to child if SBTX does not let you see your kid. As I understand the process, Mediation starts after she gets lawyer and judge order mediation..but most likely that is not correct given what you said.

How was your temporary plan before the mediation started?

Thanks for asking this question. I am in the same boat and am trying to figure this out. My SBTX is on vacation and I am trying to figure out move out now or after she comes back with kids. In my case kids make it difficult to move out without meeting them. But if you dont have that problem then I would recommend move out as soon as you can do it peacefully.

I have heard that in disputed custody case Washington state rarely gives 50-50. for instance this statement on official help site(https://www.washingtonlawhelp.org/resource/parenting-plans-court-orders-about-child-cust) listed on king county court for forms and such - For the FAQ question: "Can I ask for joint custody?" it says: "Probably not. Washington judges rarely enter a final Parenting Plan that splits custody 50/50."

When people fall in love and want to have family, they marry. If you are worried about your property, there are ways to shield it. Move it to trust, have a prenup. Not the most palatable solution, but better than not finding your love and never marrying.

I have similar issues and I realized this many years too late. Good for you, you realized it fast. Get out as fast as you can. Be glad you dont have kids.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
