I can see how very "purple" I was in the name of not being a doormat. You'll tend to find that being a RPW is not synonymous with being a doormat, there's a post explaining the difference here :) Welcome to RPW!

Thank you for your response. I had to really read it through a couple of times and I really appreciate the time you took to write such a lengthy response but it really did help me understand more so thank you again. It was also very well-balanced without any scorn attached to it which you have no idea how grateful I am for as it comes way too often on the internet! I do agree that although looks are placed highly on, only making cosmetic changes and then expecting everything to magically fall in…

Nothing wrong with that, I'm all for self reflection, positivity and encouragement myself. And while I do respect that not all mods are the same and have different viewpoints, it just seems a bit odd to me that some are celebrating her while others are "slating" her (my personal opinion is the same as cats and I think it was a bit cringy myself but if she is really happy then to each their own - but that's besides the point). It's like with meowry a couple of posts up, who sounds perfectly happy…

Yes. I was simply pointing out voluntourism in particular because most who do it have the same reasons as the "regular travelers" that are being discussed. Somehow everyone thinks voluntourism is a valid exception to the "travelling women as red flags" when really it isn't. Likewise, women should be weary of men who travel for the same superficial reasons. PS. Didn't think my post was as long as the other posts in this thread :P

A lot of millennial girls will also "volunteer" just to get likes and selfies with lions and tiger cubs and African children. A lot of them do it with an elevated attitude that they are "so much better than normal travelers watch me change the world I'm so caring". Voluntourism is also heavily on the rise to make themselves "more interesting", so I'd still be weary about these types reasons for women travelling - it's hardly "unique" anymore. If they really were that caring, they'd donate that $…

SEA is to Australia the way Europe is to the British and the way Mexico/Caribbean is to Americans. Cheap booze and exotic locations really. And then it's the people from these places who go to America to "party party party!" I have to say Asian countries are quite charming though and highly recommend travelling there for NON-PARTYING reasons. It can really broaden your mind on how a culture so different from the West operates - teaches you to be (culturally) sensitive to differences (and therefo…

Try to connect with him on an emotional (not sure if that's the right word)/deeper level? Of course don't push him into talking about things he doesn't want, but one way I knew me and my SO were getting really close/serious was when he started talking to me on a deeper level about his life, family, ambitions, etc. that one would normally not share with friends/shallow flings. That touch of vulnerability and trust really kind of sealed the deal for us. Course, that's not something that just happe…

Commitment, loyalty, our time, youth, efforts and beauty - why give any of that away to someone who doesn't prioritise you? Why rearrange your life, sacrifice, and give your all to someone who views you as disposable and has that hanging over your head the entire time. How does that environment inspire love? Not trying to troll, but this was the exact message that I was trying to get across in that "You are replaceable" thread but was deleted, and now the same content that was "irrelevant to RP"…

Correct. She needs to show him that she's worth waiting for by doing more for him to show she's a good prospect so he's not just dangled on a string feeling frustrated at waiting. OP hasn't mentioned so far what SHE does for HIM. I agree it's frustrating and pointless for guys to be waiting around if there's nothing to compensate for the waiting.

And you've just confirmed exactly what OP was worried about. Some will wait IF they are looking for an LTR, which weeds out the ones who aren't. I'm the longest my SO (who is quite attractive btw - at least to me :) ) has ever waited for a girl and he says that the fact I wouldn't just jump at it with just anyone made him respect me more and he really appreciated my low n-count. Ask any lady in a successful LTR, I've never heard of any of them wish that they slept with their SOs sooner.

At least you recognise that you two would not be a good match, instead of still pining after him. Who knows, maybe Alice was his main plate who dealt with him hooking up with other girls and was upgraded? Would you have wanted the same start to a relationship like that? If you did go after him, most likely he would have enjoyed the attention of plating two main girls and that would have added lots more drama in your life and definitely would've made you more of an alpha widow. It is unlikely tha…

This is good - definitely learn how he views relationships and sex and what he's like in one. If he's had lots of casual sex in the past and is a player, it's quite likely he's still looking for that and saying whatever he can to get in your pants. If he views relationships and sex as meaningful, then you know he's more on the same level as you.

Wouldn't that be a good thing though? If I was dating an attractive guy with options and he moved on, I'd be quite relieved - that's one less person trying to pressure me into something I don't want to do yet, and if his bros are telling him to move on that quickly, then maybe she was only going to be a longer pump and dump. It also makes room for someone who genuinely cares about OP to wait until she's ready. It's one less notch count and she shouldn't have to waste it on someone with douchebro…

By the sounds of it, despite having loads to do you still have lots of downtime! Another thing you could occupy yourself in, that I haven't seen mentioned yet, in addition to the other ladies' advice, is maybe start a blog? It doesn't have to be a public one where you spam everyone's newsfeed with, but it can be a private one, where you answer questions on your life (Tumblr's great for finding 30-day writing challenges!) or just jotting down your thoughts. Based on the info you've given about wh…

I agree with your overall message about having the courage to confront the problem, but in this situation I think the mother is too set in her ways and is unlikely to change. I can picture her screenshot-ting that message and posting on social media playing the victim saying "look how the devil turned my own daughter against me! She was never like this before she met her husband, some people let men pressure them to change and be things they're not! rah rah rah etc." If the mother does have a sm…

Keep it that way! I do the same and have thick hair too and absolutely hate sludging and using products on my hair. I did that a lot when I was younger and my hair ended up being a really frizzy mess and even now when I use straighteners and curlers I really burn my hair and create horrible split ends! I find a haircut with lots of layers really helps - where they take out all the 'weight' in the hair at the back of your head - no one notices it, but you really feel how much 'extra weight' is go…

Okay, I understand and I'm sorry my post was taken the wrong way. It wasn't intended to be taken as policing SO's tone or manipulating at all (gosh no!) - it was all about encouraging positivity and self-improvement and how to bounce back from (subjective) negativity which is what I understood RPW is all about (please correct me if I am wrong). Perhaps I used the wrong words, I always thought that 'tactful and classy' were good ways to describe a RPW response, but please advise me how else I sho…

I am proud that despite being in a LDR for more than a year, my SO still wants to be with me and appreciates whenever I come over. I am proud how we are able to deal with problems and not dwell on them. There's a lot lot more than two :D

Thank you for your objective response and it's great you see many sides. I definitely wrote that post thinking he said those direct words to you and not in general, and it's great you acknowledged that it didn't really apply to your SO. I'm trying to figure out why my post was deleted as I thought I remained very objective, providing a slightly variable view point whilst still keeping on the self-improvement message. I'm happy to have an open discussion with mods about this (or on private messag…

I agree. How is he supposed to know what he's missing and appreciate just how much you do for him if you're still doing it? There's a reason why the saying 'You don't miss it until it's gone' is true.

This. Everyone seems to be forgetting that it's june/july NEXT YEAR. That's not so "early on in the relationship" as many claim. By that time, the relationship is either very strong at the year long mark, or nonexistent. I'd suggest going on that trip. It's one of those 'if not now, then when?' things, and there are many great suggestions already into how to keep your man in the loop and show you're thinking of him. But if you're going to hamster away this opportunity, you'll probably hamster aw…

Nope, good guys are out there...fortunately for you a lot of TRP will show you the kinds of players you need to avoid and to what extent they will try to use game tactics and dread game to get you to sleep with them. Well done for not having a ONS when you easily could've fallen into that trap. At least you've learned the easy way that guys will try to do everything to get in your pants when they don't mean anything at all, and not when you've slept with loads of them to learn that. First of all…

As long as I know that they're all together and that they're safe, I wouldn't mind having the week off if it was me. Course, it is a dick move if the husband knows it would worry the wife to no ends, but I'd find it hilarious if the whole thing backfired on the dude when he was expecting anxiety x1million and she was just like "sure babe take them and have fun!" and then he realises how much work it takes to take care of all of the children by himself, because of course, he never did all the nan…

Maybe she's a RPW and not looking for a casual fuck? Just next her, do both yourself and her a favour if she's looking for something serious and you aren't.

A dick thing? Personally you did her a favour and practically gave her a week off of relaxing. She's probably enjoying her spa breaks and having a good night's sleep without the kids and it's finally your turn to deal with their shit. I'd love to have my future husband do this for me.

It's harder to reference looks, but someone should definitely make a reference for personality eg. 1 - completely self-centred, daddy's princess type, always on her phone taking selfies, etc. vs a 10 - loyal, assertive but not bitchy (in the way she can stand up for herself and not having to needily run to someone to fight her battles for her), not a doormat but still loving and places priority on your needs etc. Maybe that would give some better reference on what to have a standard for

She stopped liking you cause she was expecting something from you (a date that you set up but never followed through) only to find you flirting with someone else. You got her hopes up and just left her. She obviously really likes you but you just want to fuck her around. Stop playing with her emotions and leave her be. Plenty of other girls to bang out there without playing mind games on them.

As a developing RPW, I know that if my man ever cheats on me, he's out the door unless he lets me do the same. No man's resources is worth the disloyalty and I'd rather be single than be with a cheater.

Agree. Just keep in mind, OP, that what's going to stop you from dumping your new chick once the novelty wears off and you're looking for a brand new toy to keep baby boy happy? That being said, you'll be doing her a favour by dumping her. Don't let her waste any more of her SMV prime years on you.
