Absolutely. At the time I thought it was liberating but looking back, I let guys treat me like dirt, like a literal piece of meat, and it was disgusting. Never again.

Omg YES! I always feel so guilty for thinking this because the system is completely messed up and I wish this weren’t the case - but at least at work, I’d rather have a male boss ninety percent of the time. At least I know how to work the misogyny (flattery, faux admiration, etc). Women bosses that I’ve had, on the other hand, have absolutely gone out of their way to sabotage me.

This is so spot on. I’ve dated a guy who I thought was a HVM for six months. At first I got flowers, trips, romantic and thoughtful dates, meals cooked for me....lately he’s been doing less and less of this and several weeks ago implemented a rule that I’m not allowed to ask about his past dating life at all. Not even a prom date from 25 years ago. I think he believes I would become jealous and dramatic (the word he uses). The thing is, I’m objectively a better catch, but I was drawn to his kind…
