We'll have to agree to disagree then. No one is attacking your beliefs about what constitutes chasing a man. Just don't judge ME for not judging a woman for trying to figure shit out early in a r/s.

This. Although I don't "do" casual sex anymore, I'm not about to shame women getting their needs met in their own way as long as it's 100% their choice/pleasure. I would NEVER advocate for unprotected sex with anyone but a spouse.

Sis, you can't do whatever you want in your relationships. I wait for no man to figure out where my life is headed. It's a simple conversation. I don't judge other women for how they choose to get the information they need to either bounce from a relationship or not. I've read the handbook. Are you telling me we have to follow lockstep and if we deviate from it we'll be banned?

What now? Who said ANYTHING about desperation? Thankfully, I don't know too many women who are clamoring for marriage or believe that their self worth is wrapped up in that. Woman can initiate just as much. We have voices. If a woman proposes it's a clear sign: I'm ready now and if you're not, I'm out. No one saw ANYTHING about it being okay to wait years. No one said anything about begging. A lot of assumptions here, sis.

When you say "20s" how old do you mean exactly? B/c if he's 28 and living at home AND letting his mommy pack his lunches , do his laundry, you're in for a potential problem later on re: his expectations. Remember (!!!!) that no matter WHAT he says he wants in a partner or what he CLAIMS his expectations are with regard to gender roles, he may very easily slip into what he knows/how he has been conditioned. Do NOT move in with this guy right away. Let him show you that he's capable of being an ad…

When I lived in a major city in the Northeast, men had at least a sense of dressing for the occasion. Here in Florida, it's flip flops, shorts, and tee shirts. UGH No thanks, lazy ass dudes. I'll save the cute dresses and blowouts for someone who is adult enough to know you DRESS to go to a nice restaurant.

He was a fuck buddy, not a FWB. I've had both. My FWBs were actual friends. We could hang out with or without sex and we had a mutual respect. We knew we weren't going to be running off into the sunset together and we were both cool with it. If he hits you up again, just a hard no will suffice. He he presumably not stupid and will know why you won't be sleeping with him again. As for your ex, block him everywhere.

Being demanding about how long it takes you to text back. Accusing you out of nowhere of cheating/wanting to cheat. Asking where you went, who you were with. Endless list.

Beards are gross anyway. They carry more germs than dogs' fur. And if a man has oily skin, forget it - what's underneath will stink and he'll have acne. (I'll forgive a VERY short scruff IF it's kept very tidy and CLEAN.) Hiding a weak chin is the lead of it.

I feel like most of the time the "abuse" men suffer at the hand of their exes is 1- wholly untrue or greatly exaggerated, 2- used as a tool of manipulation whether or not there is any lasting trauma from the "abuse", and 3 - the subsequent women are punished for someone else's transgressions. What kind of r/s is this? One that benefits the MAN only. Actual adults DEAL with their trauma rather than laying it on someone else's feet.

Doubtful. She probably has PLENTY of guys in her inbox b/c men love women like her. She's "easy." She'll take whatever scraps they give and be happy about it.

The fuck? Lemme know when women start getting EQUAL FUCKING PAY in this country and then we MIGHT start talking about quid-pro-quo dinners.

I read "victim blaming" as in blaming the victim for defending herself by any means necessary. I certainly do not buy into the idea that women should be blamed for an attack - that is purely the predator's blame to bear. And you don't have to have a black belt in martial arts to learn to defend yourself. You don't HAVE to defend yourself but women should at least know how should they chose to.

Love the idea of a dog. At the very least, they can act as an early warning system. At best, they will deter an attacker and/or defend you if possible.

ETA: I'd shy away from getting a gun with a child in the house. I only had them because of my line of work and they were kept locked in gun safe and unloaded.

This is AWESOME! "another level of personal confidence" can't be stated any better.... That confidence can be an excellent deterrent for opportunistic men.

I can't agree with this statement at all: "a man who wants to kill you, will kill you." I don't care about victim blaming if she SURVIVES the attack and does not get sexually assaulted. We may be physically weaker than men, but there are ways to mitigate that. I've taken down many a LARGE man in training and in the course of my duties as a soldier and police officer. Frankly, most men would never assume you'd be capable of it to begin with. And the idea isn't to get into a fist fight. It's to be…

Biggest tip is LISTEN TO YOUR GUT. Don't ever let your socially-conditioned "niceness" put you in jeopardy. Walk down the street like you're a bad ass bitch. Make confident eye contact while NOT smiling. Rapists/attackers are opportunists. They like to pick people who look weak. You can pull out your phone and call the cops, pretend to call the cops, or take a picture of them. You can turn around and say "STOP FOLLOWING ME" so that passersby hear you. You can stick your finger down your throat t…

But there are things you can do that ARE in the realm of self defense that happen well before you are in someone's reach. There are also blows to vulnerable areas of the body and face that can temporarily stun an attacker - giving you time to flee or strike again (and AGAIN!) until they are incapacitated and you can escape without fear of pursuit. And I'm not talking about trading punches with a man, because typically there is an upper body strength disparity. And getting to the gym and learning…

Could be a food allergy or intolerance. I have Celiac disease and will often forgo eating dinner at a restaurant I haven't been to before. And I won't always tell someone I am newly dating about the Celiac disease, either.

Gotta agree 100%. There is NO wiggle room with Borderlines, and worse yet a treatment resistant one? Nope the fuck out of that shit QUICK.

I actually like having crushes. It doesn't mean I actually want the guy, or would ever date him, but crushes are fun and flirting can be fun. None of that means you should be picking out wedding dresses in your head. They're just a source of feel-good hormones. Enjoy them for what they are and don't ascribe any grand meaning to them and you're all good.

Most modern religions have never had a positive impact on women and girls. I'm not at all surprised at the comments below. tbh I read the OP and thought "LUCKY GIRL!"

Wow. Okay, even IF he was just plain clueless, I'd dump him just for being that stupid. But we all know it was not an innocent comment. He's a tool. In the future, don't ever put yourself in a situation like that - crashing at a strange dude's place is never good idea.

LMAO I love this. My abuela used to say the same thing "Mejor sola que mal acompanada." I've been told things like, "You're too picky" and asked "Do you not like sex?" because I am super picky and won't date below my standards anymore. At the VERY first sign of foolishness, I bounce. And the vetting process to even HAVE a date with me is beyond most men's abilities. I LOVE being single. Always have. I don't have to clean up after anyone, I don't have to cater to anyone's needs but my own, I don'…

That definitely could be it. Men are conditioned to be emotionally constipated, so maybe he didn't want to cry in public. I HATE crying when I am not alone, and I refuse to cry in public, so I could see this being the issue.
