I just (unfortunately) finished listening to the segment you were referring to, OP. The “ladies” on the podcast mentioned a few different things: -Virtue signaling (pretending you’re a born again Christian and claiming it was your past when you haven’t changed at all / putting on a wholesome image) *A lot of girls have a wholesome image on social media filled with pictures their families/church but turn out to be nasty people.* -Faking virginity/Being prudish They also said that being a slut is …

I agree with you, looks don’t matter much. I’ve interacted with plenty of attractive women that do nothing for me since we don’t have the same beliefs. I’ll admit that “best years” line was off color but most people do use the “best” years of their life (where their health, sex drive etc are at their peak) to mess around. Also, I’m actually in my last year of college, lol. I honestly don’t even want a relationship at this point as I don’t really see anyone (right now) as being worth pursuing. La…

Thanks for sharing your experience. You’re right to say that a female probably doesn’t completely lose the ability to pair bond after multiple partners but from interacting with women in my personal life with decently high n count, reading women’s experience with promiscuity, some of them will admit the way they connect with their spouse/current bf is completely different to the way they connected to their first partner. I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t have a hard time believing someone wi…

It’s zero. And why do you disagree with what we know on pair bonding? While the lifetime average for a female is around 5-10 partners, many are well into the double digits and even triple digits(and yes, on the other hand, some have 0-5 partners). So many girls have done it all with guys more attractive than their life partners and started the carousel in their teens. Some will remain faithful, but others, like a drug addict will be VERY tempted to go back to their “fun college days” and possibl…

Let me explain where I'm coming from. This sub has changed the way I view my faith and between everything I've read here, reading my bible, podcasts, youtube videos, I've realized that I'm failing at being an effective Christian, but also, how the modern church doesn't seem to match up with what I see in scripture. Again, I graduate this year and will be more involved with the cause of Christ later this year. I actually hate school and would rather devote my time to bible study etc., but I need …

Great post as always, Deep_Strength. I need to work on being an example more than anyone here, but none of the recent church gathering I’ve been to have done anything to prepare me for living out my calling. I never get a chance to discuss anything real, it’s just constant stimulation from activities from beginning to end or incorrect teaching.

I know you’re probably being facetious lol, eventually, most churches grow to a size where it’s hard to keep things biblical. There’s pressure on the outside to compromise and most churches do. Even if I created my own church, it wouldn’t necessarily be a solution. I get that I need to be an example in all areas of my life and be a doer of the word, but the Bible commands us to encourage one another daily lest we have an “evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God” and tells us …

My church does minster to those in prison and give food to the local homeless/poor which is great.

I don’t really think I’m being that critical and honestly, not much at the moment. My life is going to be hectic until I graduate later this year with an internship, work, and school. I need to share my faith with those around me and have felt that pull as I have admittedly not being sharing as much as I should. This is all apart of my initial post as I’ve been thinking critically about the horrors of hell and how most of my friends/family are probably going there. However, when I go to a modern…

True, but generally, males are the ones that have to pay alimony, child support, and can lose up to 50% of their assets regardless of who cheats. We’re seeing this happen right now with Jeff Bezos... I know it gets repeated almost every day here, but so many men are getting into marriages with an amazingly high risk. Many of these guys don’t truly know their girl and what she was up to prior to marriage (and sometimes she doesn’t even know herself or simply changes) which complicates things even…

I’m not that type of guy. I have no problem with stretch marks, saggy boobs, or wrinkles. I would never think about leaving my future wife just because her body changed, that’s not very Christ like. Sounds like something the world would do. I value monogamy and faithfulness. The physical is so far down my list that it almost doesn’t matter in comparison to having a godly marriage. The Bible says to flee sexual immorality, therefore I would strive my hardest to never put myself in a situation to …

I actually just read through all of The Rational Male, and at one point, Rollo actually refuted the idea that you could properly “vet” a woman. I think he might change his tune if he knew the difference between being born again/playing church and read a proper, Christian vetting process that couldn’t be faked by a potential mate, but I still think he has a point. Even if you think you’ve found a virtuous woman, she still has all the power to divorce you etc. and she could just be telling you wha…

Thank you! This is all incredibly helpful. I don’t know anyone who could fake all of this.

Thank you for clarifying!!! You're right, even if I find a virgin, what if she has 100K in debt from school? Or hates the gym, hates working and would rather sit at home watching soaps? There's so much more to consider that I've barely even thought about, and there are always going to be compromises on both sides. I appreciate you.

Well I only meant sometimes. I was involved with campus ministry and it was clear when some of the girls were faking it. They would raise their hands in worship and then be cursing sometimes right after the service etc. Some of the girls had built up rapport w/ the leaders and yet there was no difference between them and the world. Same thing goes for the youth groups I've gone to throughout the years etc. It's the "nawalt" acting ones that I'm most suspicious of. It's hard to know if they are f…

Very true, but I’m not sure if I get the analogy. Basically, a pastors daughter who fully understands what she did and is repentant is a safer bet than someone raised by hippies w/out God’s law?

Yeah, you’re on to something here. A lot of men in the church (and elsewhere actually) think that being a good provider who kisses up to his wife is a good idea, yet it always seems to backfire. I clearly need to read more Christian RP material on ways to avoid this.

Agreed 100%! If she’s not enthusiastic when we are together, I wouldn’t personally want to marry her. You can kinda tell when someone is settling for you.

Can you explain what you meant by the difference between the way your wife bonded with you and other women? I thought that women with an n-count greater than a few partners almost completely lose the ability to pair bond?

True, it's basically always better to go with new if you can manage it, but I was also just reading a post here on reddit about a "Christian" couple a few days ago who waited until marriage and the wife wanted to run off and ride the CC. This subreddit has done a great job of reminding me that nothing is certain, and everything has it's risks.

I find it hard to know when a girl is faking her faith sometimes and when she's really renewed in her mind. Vetting definitely helps, but anyone can say what you want them to hear all the way up to the wedding night, right?

Thanks, but how do I really bring this up, and when is a good time to do so? With the last girl I was talking to, it kinda just came up. Am I really just supposed to come out and ask "are you a virgin" a few dates in or something? Lol. If she isn't she's probably gonna be on high alert and try and shame me to get off the topic. If she is..it may not be as much of an issue but I wouldn't want her to think I only care about virginity.

That's actually an excellent point, if a girl said "I struggled with being promiscuous in the past before I was saved" I'd then be curious to see how she's doing post repentance/conversion. I don't wanna deny the work of the Holy Spirit. Before his conversion, Paul persecuted Christians, yet in Romans 9:3 he wish to be "cursed and cut off from Christ" for "the sake of his brothers." Pre-conversion Paul and post-conversion Paul were different people. I want to believe that God can do that with th…

Thanks for sharing your perspective! This whole post is great. My biggest struggle is basically with your last two sentences. There are a decent amount of virgin women left in churches from what I've read here, but if I fall for someone with an n-count, it would be hard for me to start over with someone new just because the first girl did things in her past. That said, I definitely want a marriage that has the highest chance of surviving..I would prefer to avoid a Gomer situation if at all possi…

Wow, I appreciate your perspective..that's a perfect way to put it. It's easy to become desensitized to sin. Drinking and doing drugs would always be dealbreakers for me, yet for some reason I hesitate with making high n-count a dealbreaker.

I can’t dispute any of this. I’d much prefer a virgin, but most of the women around me are not virgins. That’s what makes it a bit hard for me. About the single mother situation, I’m assuming that the father would still get visitation rights etc? Would be strange having a third party in your marriage who gets access to your wife’s kid(s). I know some kind hearted, Christian single mothers but I’d like to minimize drama if at all possible.

To me it’s around 5-10, right around the average amount of lifetime partners for a female. It seems like after the first few, women can’t pair bond so that’s why my numbers are so low. I don’t have to prod too far to get a decent estimate of where they are at. I will admit that I’ve never asked an exact number. And then there is always the multiply by 3 rule.. Thank you for your post. Edit: that link you posted covered just about everything I’m talking about. Thank you. It’s actually the post I …

What do you mean by changeable? Because sometimes people aren’t just lying to you, they are lying to themselves when they tell you “the past is in the past, I’m a new person now” Couldn’t someone easily lie all the way up until the wedding night or even a few years in the marriage, where they revert to their old ways for a while? Just something I’ve been thinking about lately.

Thank you again, Deep_Strength! I think I will have to go through your whole blog at this point. “Vetting” is the thing I’ve been missing I think. All of those vetting questions are perfect, but what if i also asked her about her views on 1 Timothy 5:12? Would that be too far? Either way, that’s a perfect way of seeing where someone is in their faith. Some things you can’t fake. If anyone understands that going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, it’s me. I went to church my entire life, lis…

Thank you, but what if I meet a great Christian girl, who I love but she has a past of maybe 5-10 guys? That’s around the average amount lifetime sexual partners for a female...could being hellbent on finding a virgin be almost too “mechanical” if that makes sense? I sometimes worry that I’m trying to tick off boxes rather than find someone that cares about the mission of Christ. But I definitely understand where you are coming from, the baggage that comes from having a ton of sexual partners sh…

Thank you for your post, that’s true! I think even a lot of professing Christians have secular marriages with no prayer, no focus on the mission God has given us and wonder why they fall apart. I would only ever agree to a true Christian marriage where proper God given rules and structures are supported. Another poster brought up a great point though; even if you’re a “Christian alpha” who leads your family well, if your wife changes in a few years due to being influenced by feminists ideas at h…

Yep. Males generally make more in a marriage. I need to find the statistics. Most women will not “marry down” so to speak.

Where did you get the 60-70% from? I normally see a 50% divorce rate for all marriages.

Those are some crazy stories man, I’m sorry about what happened to your family. One thing I’ve recognized is that people can’t hide who they are for long. I pay very close attention to red flags. I don’t think 80/20 is quite accurate though..it’s more like 95/5...if we’re talking about “Christian” women who actually follow Christ and would make a good helper. Can’t prenups be thrown out after a certain amount of years or if the female claims it was created and signed under duress? Merry Christma…

Merry Christmas! And while it’s true that it’s “not good for a man to be alone,” remember that God said that when we as humans were still living in the garden. God would love to have kept our original agreement, but since we did the one thing he told us not to do, sin brought a lot of brokenness into the world. Because of sin, some people simply never marry and are given the gift of singleness in order to further the kingdom without restraint. Jesus and Paul were committed to this path. Unfortun…

Working hard is not the issue for me, it’s the fact that you’re working so hard, providing, even doing bible studies etc. and your wife could still take everything from you if she’s unhappy. I’m not talking about a scenerio where someone has given up on everything, I’m talking about God fearing men still being at major risk financially, emotionally etc. Yes, you can still find a Christian, virgin woman but they are incredibly rare and it’s not as easy as you make it seem. I’m definitely looking …

Merry Christmas man, I appreciate your post. My initial post was extremely rushed but I don’t think I’m discrediting the Holy Spirit at all. We all make mistakes. King David was a man after God’s own heart and still stole another man’s wife and had her husband killed in an attempt to cover up his sin. No one is good. A “good” Christian wife could slip up and forgiveness must be offered. I’m just saying that would be hard for me, and even if I did, I could still lose everything. The Christian gir…

This is what makes me uncomfortable about the modern day church. So many women are told they are forgiven no matter what and they end up in situations where they ride the CC and the church encourages men in the church to disregard their past, man up, and marry them. I’m not even sure half of them have any intention of truly repenting at any point in there lives, they just say they are “struggling with temptation” while diving headfirst into bad situations.

Hey guys, I’m new here, and I think what blows me away the most is I can’t refute pretty much anything you guys say. Had a female acquaintance tell me she had an old ex tell her to come over for sex...she was in between relationships. They always have a plan B, C, maybe even D. Idk. I’m just disgusted with how this world is. I feel lied to about everything. I will make a more formal post later on.
