He’s like “wait slow down so I have a chance to emotionally manipulate you 🥴”

I wouldn't be too stressed about it, although I can understand why you may feel concerned though. Society puts a lot of a persons value on whether or not they're dateable and puts too much value on how many partners one has had. That kind of mentality is harmful, especially towards women. As if you need a man/person to complete you as an individual. Honestly keep focusing on yourself and do not let your friend's negging get to you. If a person comes along the way and displays interest in you jus…

I honestly don't understand his point. You waste an entire paragraph negging her and bragging about your "awesome" sex so you can feel proud at the thought of impressing a random?? My guy is acting like a king when he's clearly just one of her pawns

He didn't want to throw away everything they had but he literally just threw it all in her face.

Thank you this really reassures me I definitely need to relax and take it easy. So far we’ve mostly been texting but he’s always eager to call or video chat but I’m typically tired at the end of the day I’ll try to be more excited and less nervous 😖

Oh thank you for mentioning that gives me more to consider! I would like to assume a meal based date although he did speak well of the atmosphere and felt that I would really enjoy it Which I feel that I would but I’m wondering if I’m being too uptight. I do enjoy going to new places I haven’t been to this restaurant before but heard a lot of good things about it

Good point I appreciate your input! This is one of the few men that I’ve been able to consider decent so far so I’d hate to allow myself to let things slide subconsciously just because he’s nice We have yet to schedule a video chat but once he arranges that then I think I’ll accept a date here when the time comes

Idk but good men don't typically have to try so hard to convince someone how good they are

Yes I agree with all this! OP you really need to study the handbook to help get yourself to a better state of mind. Being a virgin or a prude isn't a negative thing. You have to set your boundaries to not tolerate any nonsense a LVM will throw at you regarding anything promiscuous. Block them and move on. Stop wasting time on these individuals they're draining your energy that you could be putting towards yourself. (also congrats on the soon to be engagement u/Sea_Soil !!!)

These are all qualities of LVM Trust your gut. He's rushing into a relationship, comparing her to other women (Killing her self esteem), and speaks over her. This is a setup for a codependent relationship that are very hard to get out of. It's hard watching your friends experience a low quality relationship. I have a pair that are in relationships with LVM and its frustrating being in the same room with their husbands because I dont want to start any issues but watching how they interact with my…

He had the audacity to call you arrogant when he felt entitled to your attention. Good for you! You stood your ground and didnt let this scrote intimidate you. Keep it up we're rooting for you!

All I can say is that my heart feels so sad for her to feel as if she is second in her relationship to his friends.. I remember my ex would always fake "running away" at any mention of marriage or those bouquet tosses at weddings and it would hurt me just slightly inside. I tolerated it because it was "funny" and I was "cool". Honestly so glad I'm over that life now.

Trust your instincts! Ignore and continue with your life, you dont owe him any friendship. He has family for that. The audacity to think that he's entitled to your time after 8 years

I would give him space. You of course are free to be sympathetic towards him in his hard time but I feel that this situation could end up with him being dependent on you for comfort. Not that you wouldn't want that but this early could lead to him seeking you for therapy with out a defined relationship. You tried to discuss it and his response tells me that he is understandably dealing with too much right now and does not have the emotional energy to share for a relationship. So overall, dont in…

This sounds absolutely toxic. He talks about it as if her ex "marked his territory" and "claimed" her. Way to show her you value her as an actual human being and not property.

In my case it was more subtle or maybe I ignored the signs, but with my ex I now realized his issues when speaking about topics. like Blow Jobs and anal, I explain my distaste for them and he would be surprised because he assumed that's what women just do. We were both each other's first and I was aware of him watching porn so reflecting on it now I see that his first exposures to sex really affected how he viewed intimacy and relationships. He pressured me into having sex, he wasn't aggressive …

THIS! I think about this every day now after FDS. I'm frustrated at allowing myself to become distracted but I'm happy that I'm working towards myself now for a better future.

Will do, being my first experiences after reading FDS I find myself in conflict with my old mentality. I just feel guilty for being so aggressive about my approach even though it’s the most secure way not get involved with LVM. I used to be so patient with them and gave a lot of passes. But I’ve removed them all now. I’ll be sure to go back and block the one who looked me up just in case, he hasn’t messaged me since but never too careful!

Yes I used to accept this till I realized there's no value behind it. Essentially they do not care if you are there or not, so why go out of your way for someone who doesn't matter? Spend your time around those who appreciate your presence and want you there. Don't accept this weak response and leave.

its a slick way to hide messages and receipts anyone who is obsessive of using it over text messaging or calling i feel is a red flag

I feel that if you are stressing over a man that you aren't married to then it's best to move on and make plans to go back home with your family. He has already shown you that he prioritizes his family above you. You clearly value a man who values you. This will seem to be a forever conflict in your relationship, you have to ask yourself if this is something you want to tolerate. You have every right to have that expectation out of a man that is willing to provide you the attention you request. …

Do not take responsibility for his actions or lack of. You have no control of what they will and will not do nor their intentions. Do not go into a relationship expecting change. You accept them as they are red flags and all. You accept them as that individual that will not be changed, so when you see these issues come up remember what you value and make the decision to proceed or not. Because they will never go away. Overall this man was not good, he withheld information from you and decided to…

Thank you for pointing that out. I myself have never really paid attention to other men and never realized why it bothered me a bit when my ex would comment on another women's appearance. It was never a feeling of jealousy but I now sense that it was disrespect.

Oops LOL Wouldnt have made a difference anyways, I'm not doing last minute plans any more sowie! Its so funny because in his defense for me "figuring" out his birthday he said that he had to find out himself as well. Since I actually have it on my profile for public and I know for sure it is because I got a lot of messages this year(I had always had it hidden up till this year) I asked how and he just sends me a screen shot of our convo of that day. It literally reads Him "HBD?" Me "Why the ? lo…

Thinking about it, yea I agree Reading back the convo he mentions that “it shouldn’t be that hard to solve” so with that joke coming after it does set me off a bit and seems like a minor red flag He’s always seemed really nice so I can’t imagine where pettiness would come from, but whatever I’m not about to waste my time analyzing Thank you for responding! Your input helps me feel validated for my experience

I was just thinking of 2) myself. Should we not tolerate a man who teases you? I'm still working through the handbook its a lot! For context I've been speaking to a guy casually, he seems to be interested as he tends to reach out first lately. We're friends. Anyways we were talking about birthdays and I asked him what his was and he sends me an equation. I laugh and say ah I'm so bad at math I haven't practiced since high school etc. (I really am bad a math I've always had a hard time processing…

Honestly your post comes off so positive and nowhere does it seem like you're trying to insult anyone for their size you were just stating what works and feels best FOR YOU. Literally anyone giving you a problem about your preferences is projecting. Like get over yourselves. The world doesn't revolve around your dick

Just started doing this for myself. It's been really hard since I just ended things with my ex and he was my best friend a really kind and generous person. Unfortunately our relationship burnt out and I was just dragging it out as long as I could. I didn't want to cut him off but I know for me it's the best. It's been 4 days since and its sad when I think about it but my friends have really been here to support me <3 I hope he's doing well too, I know he has his family so I wish him luck And of …
