I have to say, it has to be terrible to be a woman in stem. Even if you do make it, and become successful, people just wonder if you were hired to meet some quota.

scrutiny of males is more severe than scrutiny of females. As a scientist, I would argue the opposite. Most women are under such pressure to prove themselves that they would try to avoid misconduct as much as possible. Not that women in general are not more or less prone to misconduct, its just that due to the overwhelming gender imbalance they tend to over compensate.
