Why do you need your friends to be carbon copies of you ? What are you looking for in a friend ? Is there a reason why YOU haven't reached out to the girl who asked for your number ? How many times did you initiate a hangout this year ? I am not asking these to make you feel bad, I just wish for you to reflect on the energy/effort you are actually putting in. It seems to me like you really want friends, but you deny that fact in your head by saying it is not worth the effort. You comparatively h…

I absolutely love this community but I'm shocked about how everyone skipped over their ages? Unless you're in a very different culture, how is it ever okay to marry someone at 18 when he is 30 years old. How many years have you been dating beforehand? How can a 30 year old man be interested by a teenager. For your sexual drive, masturbate/buy some toys and learn to enjoy your sexuality without him. All the other women here gave good suggestions on how to address the problem but I think you shoul…

Hey just want to warn you, don't forget to use heat protectant before straightening them or using anything hot on them! It's EXTREMELY important for the health of your hair ! They won't look good if damaged !

What did you really think about the article though ? Why does he ask you, are you also a writer/in the same industry ?

Hello, I've just gotten broken up with the man of my dreams. How can I best move forward and get over him ? ( Or lure him back in at a later time after he's sewn his wild oats ) Thank you very much. It's so awesome you're doing this for us !

It has been a year. If he still doesn't get that you're worth it soon enough ,I don't think he ever will . I would put a timeframe on it, do your best, if by x months he's still engaging in that behavior, walk. They'll always look, but messaging is going one step too far

What was the content of those messages he sent? Are these girls he knows, friends,..? Liking your friends pictures is totally fine in my opinion (at least if they are appropriate..). If he compliments/flirts online with girls he's never met, he's absolutely not a keeper. Would you imagine being able to do this to him, and him being okey with it ? I don't think so.

If being "closed-off" and "antisocial" is something you want to change about yourself, you should make an effort outside of these family events. Personally I can be really shy when around large groups of people I don't know and that I want to impress. Being at my SO's family events is quite a challenge. For now, try to smile as much as possible, look interested in what they say and ask lots of questions. If you find someone that likes to talk this is a perfect strategy, and easy to implement. Th…

Look at it this way. Maybe he wants you to tell him it's okay to move forward because you're so shy, and he's afraid you're only telling him yes because you're afraid to say no. :)

Hey your comment is really long so I took a longer time to respond. Needing to feel forgiven/loved is one point where one can exit. Make oneself responsible and emotionally self-regulating, independent. One can exit that loop at other places as well. However you can not exit at the mistakes. Humans do mistakes. Period I got out of the circle. There's one day where he was completely cold to me , leaving me on "read" on Facebook. I figured that he needed space or was really busy with this projects…

Yeah, I think I have trouble figuring out what to bring out, and what is just considered as "nagging" haha.. I feel like nothing's really important and that I should just enjoy the moment with him before it's too late.

that a lot of abuses of men by women come out of a delusion that we have no power and our actions don’t have consequences, even though they clearly do I think i quite don't get that part

Yup already on that :) Thank you

What I understood from this post is that a woman believes that if she has a good connection with a man, it's because they are "compatible". But the truth is, this man could have good connections with thousands of different girls who will think exactly the same thing. So it's not that those two are compatible, it's just that the man has many desirable qualities that can attract thousand of different type of girls. The personality of the girl doesn't really factor in too much in that "compatibilit…

Haha I think it's the wrong moment for that kind of lovey stuff. But I've asked him several times before but I always forget haha. Or I'm not convinced. He told me he really liked that I was his girlfriend but also his friend (lol): he can talk about anything to me and doesn't have to hide any side of himself. He can tell me when girls hit on him without me getting jealous or suspicious or something. We're doing the same studies and so he likes it that we can talk about the same stuff, and that …

Ofcourse, this man gave me so many things I could've only dreamt of before meeting him.

You're right. I talked about it with my therapist. She said something about bottling my emotions up, and not communicating them in a calm, healthy way. Because when I do try to communicate them, it's already too late and they just want to "explode" out. I see every emotion as negative, and so I don't welcome them into me, and so it's impossible for me to let these emotions "release" in a healthy way... I'm afraid because I feel shameful to be this way...

Hey you, thank you for your long reply. Your words gave me a more soothing perspective than the others. At the moment you feel pressure to hold back your emotions and he feels pressure to sooth your emotions It is exactly what you said, I need him to come back and validate me, but he wants to stay back and away from me. The biggest mistake is getting trapped in guilt feelings after something like this happens. I really know that very well. If you are trapped in guilt you will seek validation fro…

If we get physically back together again, I'll refer back to your comment. Thank you for the advice!

I'll try to keep that in mind. Give but expect nothing in return. Thank you

I want to add, that we do text eachother everyday (LDR or not). It's juste those last 5 days now that he's been distant, because of what I did. For the bus-stop thing, he was just really tired and I took it personally. If I'm being emotional, I'd prefer to not make him out to be the reason I'm crying when he's not :/

You are right I don't think I fully understand what being with someone of high value entails. My previous boyfriend always required my attention. I had to message him regularly or he'd throw a fit (even when I was studying...). We saw eachother maybe twice a week and that was enough for me. I found him overbearing and controlling (forbade me of playing video-games when I rarely even do because I can't respond quickly when I do play them, he'd be upset if I slept past midnight on weekends...). My…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
