You can go YOUR own WAYYYYYYYY... GO your own WAYYYyyyyyy...

Some of these comments are outright hateful. You're being controlling though, imo. It sounds like she's asserting touchy boundaries with you because she feels she needs to, because she doesn't feel safe within your judgment of them.

Sadge, but appreciate the honest answer.

Thank you very much for the link. I absolutely will.

Good instinct. Not long at all. And I've always felt this way about her. The boundaries have always been there, and she always eventually chose to comply. Our break was me needing to think about a different serious compability issue, about which she really heard me and we ended up getting on the same page. This was a year ago and we've had no issues about it since. But this issue has always been under the surface for me. Is the answer as simple as: I never should have started this relationship?

He made a valid point that you can't expect helpful advice with how little info you provided. You brushed it aside and got defensive. So... no advice for you I guess.

I can say if a guy is physically attracted to you, he'll want to bone you. It doesn't matter what emotional stuff is happening, he still wants to bone you. Men aren't like women in this way, generally speaking. So, with this in mind, my suspicion is that your insecurities triggered his insecurities. He still wanted to bone you (enough to let its absence destroy the relationship), but his insecurities that had triggered prevented him from feeling he was able to. Often, our own insecurities have a…

No problem. Any ideas what made it so good with your first?

It sounds like you're probably not the problem then, if you're sure that's how he saw it as well. Sexual chemistry is a hard thing to work out. The hardest. A lot of people get stuck on it. A lot of ”otherwise perfect” relationships end because of its lacking. The good news is there are people you're compatible with because you found one.

What you perceive as rejection may not be rejection. But whether it was or wasn't, you took it hard and personally and, from the sound of it, let it affect your relationship a lot. You stopped initiating. The only thing that ever communicates to a man is that you aren't interested anymore. Because the bottom line is, always and forever: if you were, you would.

With the right girl it will happen. You werent the right girl because, according to what you yourself said, you weren't sexually satisfying him. This is incredibly important if not #1 to most men and is something that cannot be faked for long. You weren't a good fit, and he made the right call. Maybe it is your problem, maybe it isnt. Was sex also rather passionless with the other long-term partner, in his eyes? Do you think you make your man feel wanted, desired, and craved?

This is what I don't understand about "healthy boundaries". They seem like just a slightly deeper level of manipulation.

As another man who is aging like fine wine (am consistently told by both men and women I look late 20s as a bearded 40-year-old, furthermore they're Asian and I'm white and Asians tend to look younger): OP has the right ideas but the wrong executions. He's right that diet is 80% of it. Yet he's unironically giving health advice while self-admittedly riddled with health problems (he mentioned several medical conditions in his post, his body is shutting down). At 40, I'm in the best shape of my li…

The government would if enough people went vegan. It reflects the will of the people!

How do we stop factory farming, or at least our part in it? Each time we buy an animal product from a factory farm (over 90% of animal products including meat, eggs, and milk from the grocery store), we are raising the demand for companies to breed more of these suffering genetic abominations into existence. Supply and demand. We can't really demand companies or the government make changes if we ourselves are not willing to make those same changes.

You researching about chickens because of this conversation shows you're more open-minded than most. Yea man, to me, their level of sentience and the suffering we inflict on them far outweighs the habit to eat them, which is the only reason we do once you think about it. Check out Dominion (documentary on youtube) if you haven't yet. Regarding your original point, though, being sentient enough to make an argument is shaky ground for moral consideration because there are many humans who can't. Th…

It's admirable you don't fund the suffering of pigs and cows. Similar to us, chickens and fish feel pain and suffer, experience complex emotions, have a strong desire to live their lives and experience their natural behaviors, and have an individual subjective experience of the world which is everything they've ever known. Objectively weighing this against your habit of continuing to eat their bodies, the moral choice is clear. Furthermore, your analogy conflates direct with indirect intent. A m…

Though the ability to back up your position with sources can be good, 99% of the time it won't matter as logical arguments do not convince people. People operate from cognitive bias, emotion, and personal interest. If being able to prove a stance worked to convince people, everyone would be vegan.

Ironically, I directly copy-pasted it from AskMen, which of course allowed it, after changing the pronouns.

Is she a dipshit in her beliefs? Sure. But I disagree with your thinking that it's not ok to break up with someone over ideological differences. That's one of the few good reasons to break up with someone, because thought leads to action. Point in case: I don't date non-vegans, or at least non-vegetarian, because their thinking about non-human animals and moral imperatives leads them to actively fund and participate in the greatest atrocity with the most completely avoidable suffering and death …

It's simpler than people are leading on. Move to Asia (pretty much any country) and teach English. Your job will sponsor you to live here. Depending on the country, some will make it easy to stay or obtain permanent residency. Here in Taiwan, you get permanent residency after 5, and you're a citizen after 7. No extradition treaty and 0 fucks given. ;) My fuckup and word of advice: don't keep an American bank account, even a joint account with relatives, as CPS will dip into it after you become o…

Why are you so upset? My argument, as laid out, is that if we care about men's rights, it's also worth considering other oppressed groups. OP said he has a sense of universal values like justice, empathy for others, and responsibility for himself, as well as being open to having his views change with facts presented. It was heartwarming to hear as I genuinely feel the same way about myself, so I decided to share some info with him which, when I found out about it, made me care a lot more about t…

Ohh interesting do you have a link to scientific community thing and how we would deal with plant based diet sustainability? Sure, here's one. You'll find in the paper the UN has already recognized and is trying to implement it. I can give many more sources if you like. https://www.chathamhouse.org/2021/02/food-system-impacts-biodiversity-loss I am an omnivor so I do in fact want to eat meat....please dont suggest things of rape or child killing and compare me to it. im talking in interest and…

What do we eat tho? could humans as we are now(population and groth) truly sustain a all plant based diet? With out seriously destroying more animal habitats to plant more food? Plants. Yep! Something like 11x the plants are required to feed an animal we're going to eat than to just eat the plants directly. ...what's your thoughts on carnivorous animals eating other animals. Would you have issue with hunting wild animals for food As needed..... Are you a carnivorous animal? Do you justify all …

I am certain that I and everyone else is also deluded about certain aspects of life, but if someone challenged my beliefs and gave me a long list of facts that refuted them I would absolutely consider them. I have a sense of universal values like justice, empathy for others... That's awesome that you're open to having your beliefs challenged, empathetic, and have a sense of justice. I am too. As a result, I fight for both men's rights and animal rights, because imo any oppressed group deserves t…
