Is this something you could live with for the rest of your life if you got married? For your children to grow up around? Can you live with it if he were to bring home an std, or if your child or a friend or family member saw him somewhere. He's proposing a lifestyle, and at least he's upfront about it. You should think carefully about what this could mean for you down the line an whether it's something you want for your (future) family.

There's dye available especially made for carpets. I don't have experience with it myself, but it's supposedly very easy to use and inexpensive (especially if you compare it to the price of new carpet).
