How can I get my carpet to look better without replacing it. My husband and I live in an older house and can not replace the carpeting at this time, but I feel like it takes away from how clean the house looks. It is a light off white color and I have shampooed it several times with an at home shampooer.

I don’t know if this counts as a homemaking tip, but it didn’t feel like it needed its own post either.

My man and I currently rent an apartment, which throws off the balance of tasks a bit. I can still cook, clean, do laundry, etc. But he can’t really take care of the yard (no yard), fix the cars (no car), or fix the house (not allowed). And he definitely doesn’t have the dream workshop he will eventually have. So he’s been feeling under-utilized.

However, to my fellow renters, we may have come across a solution: 3D printer and arduino. The printer was surprisingly cheap ($150) and sits on an end table in the living room and the rest he just does on his desk. But you can make infinite gadgets with those two things and they are all apartment-sized and apartment friendly. So if anyone’s man is feeling like he doesn’t have “manly”/building things type tasks to do, maybe look into 3D printers.

How much time are you supposed to spend cooking in a day? I feel like I’m ridiculously slow at cooking but when I asked my mother she told me cooking took a big chunk of her day as well. Should we become more efficient or is this normal lol
