Doubt it, every dude I know who does fine with women is perfectly happy.

Everything in life is about other people, if you remove all social contact from a person they go insane
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/24 08:17 PM

That's just escapism
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/24 08:16 PM

They only people who say there's joy to life outside dating, are the ones that never really struggle with dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/24 08:16 PM

Why would I want to create anything for a world that just constantly shits on me?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/24 08:14 PM

More like quiet depression.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/24 08:04 PM

"just ignore the meaning of life"
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/24 08:04 PM

There is straight up 0 joy in life if you have no success dating, like really the most quintessential part of human existence; when you don't get to experience it life becomes meaningless and dull.

I don’t want to accept it but I think you might be right. I just tried doing an online test, which I know aren’t 100% accurate, and I got flagged for “Possible Psychosis”

I could understand that for the thinking “maybe she’s into me”. But I don’t see how it’d be delusional to think “no this girl absolutely hates being around me” Cause I do both, sometimes I swap back and forth depending on the interaction. And it’s not just with dating sometimes I’ll think I’m close friends with someone who’s really just making casual conversation, other times I’ll think someone hates me because they didn’t say hey to me when we passed each other.

Honestly you’re better off. The level of anxiety that comes with overthinking is annoying.

Anyone else read way too much into shit? Because I swear that’s one of the things I hate most about myself. Especially when it comes to girls in interested in; she’ll smile at me I’ll start thinking clearly she loves me, then she’ll say some innocent comment and I’ll start thinking it has some secret double meaning that says she actually dislikes me.

Women or men?

The way I see it there's been a huge push in the last decade or two to never make women feel uncomfortable in social situations. As a consequence of this men can't risk flirting with women because if she doesn't return the feelings then you've now made her uncomfortable, and that now carries a huge social stigma. It's like a social mine field: Sure, you might be fine and never step on one but god help you if you ever do.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/24 12:56 AM

I'm fine with small talk, problem is I end up just being their friend instead. I've found it difficult to escalate from just making small talk to flirting without coming off creepy.

Guys being afraid to talk to women (that they're interested in) is so commonplace nowadays it's insane, like it's not just a meme even the most confident outgoing dudes I know in their early 20's are paralyzed around women they like. These are the dudes will be talking up about how they're going to be assertive and flirty with her, then they're actually in front of her it's just "......"

If you removed the pleasure from sex every woman will be treated like a man. As a woman you might think "that sounds awesome" but every man reading this knows what that truly entails... You'll find that the world is a much lonelier and more hostile place than you're used to.

Honestly this is just women's version of "the wall". Men one here act like women become completely undateable after 30/40, the truth is they date just slightly worse than they used to, still much better than men do at their age. Women in this thread in a similar fashion want to believe that men become completely sterile or their kids will be guaranteed to have massive problems. Truth is fertility/outcome is only slightly worse for men as they age, still much better than women's fertility/outcome…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/24 01:05 AM

<image> Because men are still mostly fertile up until they hit retirement age, hell there's even news stories of men in their 70s getting women pregnant. Simply biologically speaking women are far more likely to experience fertility issues earlier in life. There's a lot more shit effecting men's fertility e.g. diet, dropping testosterone levels, endocrine disrupting chemicals; those are the concerns for men's fertility, not age.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ypFdROdpYZg A few weeks/months ago I commented on here about literally exactly this lol, about how a girl I knew in work I was completely unsure if she was interested in me or thought I was creepy because she kept glancing at me. The comments on this video confirm I'm not alone, every guy basically like "yeah it's not worth the risk of being wrong".

But not to the same degree as dating apps. Every single man I know is on dating apps, only a handful of the single women I know are on them. Yes but it's still a common issue on dating apps. People notice looks irl but they also notice how you carry yourself, your interests, your personality. Online it's 90% looks and nothing else.

Beyond IQ I firmly believe that people can be intelligent in different ways, and that doesn't get taken into account enough on here when people talk about intelligence or IQ. You can be a prodigy in mathematics but hopeless at writing; both an award winning writer and an engineer are "smart" but in different ways because they both require a different kind of intelligence. That's important because I believe there's a kind of "social intelligence"; and this social intelligence trumps any other kin…

I'm not jealous of dudes in toxic relationships. I am jealous of dudes who pump and dump a lot of women, not because I want to emulate that but because if he can pump and dump women chances are he's attractive enough he could easily have a relationship. Also, the women I want to date are busy getting pumped and dumped.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/24 06:01 PM

"I hope this woman is empathetic and sees me as a human being" "That's a completely unrealistic image of women" lol
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 03:27 AM

No BP women will say it as well, but they say it because they claim they "don't care about muscles at all!"
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 03:24 AM

People who get plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons usually have body dysmorphia though and don't stop because they're never happy with how they look. <image> Erin Moriarty went from stunningly beautiful to messed up in just a few short years thanks to plastic surgery. Humans are astonishingly good at picking up on faces, I've never seen someone who got plastic surgery and didn't end up looking slightly uncanny valley; even for just minor work.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 03:21 AM

Not necessarily. Most men will by default like a woman when they first meet, it's only by further interactions that they start to hate them. Only thing that's changed recently is that social media has kind of shattered the illusion that men had surrounding women (that they were kind, loyal, and caring) and made it really almost none of them have those qualities. Yet even still, every man holds out hope that he might find his dream girl. The dream girl being: a woman who genuinely cares about the…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 03:14 AM

I mean men are a lot more visually driven biologically. If I see a hot woman I won't "stare" at her but I'll probably notice her immediately. Even in the gay community, men are obsessed with looks, where as lesbian women don't really seem to be as concerned.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 03:03 AM

Plastic surgery never ends well in the long run, google what Simon Cowell looks like now.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 03:01 AM

Then why are y'all mad at RP men and not the women who are creating them?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 02:45 AM

I've unironically heard BP women say you're wasting your time hitting the gym as a man, but that's really the main way to looksmaxx as a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 02:43 AM

From what I've seen men (particularly older men) use OLD to try and cheat. I don't often hear of or see women cheating on OLD, the majority of the time it's a man they know IRL they cheat with. This is why you've got women who want to see everything on their mans phone, and men who don't like their woman being friends with other men.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 02:20 AM

The job world is just as red pilled as the dating world, in fact they even cross over sometimes (looks). We like to tell ourselves work is pure meritocracy, but anyone who's paying any attention knows that connections and your family matters a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 02:03 AM

Don't mention it at all. Being up front about it serves no benefit, and it has the potential of giving a woman who's into you cold feet. You bring having little experience with women and she'll start subconsciously thinking "what's wrong with him? is he a loser?" thoughts that might have never crossed her mind until you put them there.

In most western countries modern women have considerably more advantages than modern men. The whole idea of feminism was to have men and women on equal footing, and now that women are actually slightly ahead of men they still demand more; this is what's causing men to become "anti-feminist". They see it as nothing but women who have every advantage thrown at them still asking for more. Women are outpacing men in education, all things being equal women are now more likely to get hired to hit dive…

Did you actually read the data you linked? They claim they found no disparity between genders, but at the same time they mention "yeah other studies found a disparity between genders", then they explicitly refuse to publish the data pertaining to gender differences. If they're not willing to actually publish the data pertaining to it then it's not something they can make a strong claim about.

Because they do want a virgin but often times they’ll settle for a girl who’s had 2 or 3 previous boyfriends. You have to look at why they want a virgin, they don’t want a girl who has a high number count. You know how girls will judge other girls for the guy they date? Guys will judge other guys if they date a girl who’s known to put out a lot - those girls are never seen as relationship material by anyone other than the most desperate of guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/24 12:15 AM

The more people a woman’s dated before dating you the less likely the relationship is to last.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/24 12:12 AM

Clearly not, y’all are on Reddit.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/24 12:03 AM

That’s pretty much the situation I’m in, live rurally so I have fuck all dating options. I’ve also seen stats that say that cities have a slightly higher % of women while rural towns have a higher % of men. Strongly considering just uprooting and moving to some big city to up my dating potential.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/24 12:03 AM

I mean yeah, when guys say they want a virgin what they really mean is “a girl who hasn’t been ran through by half a dozen guys”

The people who are genuinely die hard anti-abortion believe it's murder. For the record I'm pro-choice but I can at least understand the other side of the argument, particularly for religious people. They believe that killing an unborn baby is the same as killing a normal person.

I think the two both kind of compound on one another, but they're both mostly caused by the same issue imo. Speaking from personal experience having no dating success ruins your mental health, but having shit mental health kind of ruins your dating options; no one wants to date a depressed person. In saying that though, the cause of both is the proliferation of social media and the increased isolation. We've known for a long time now that social media is terrible for people mental health, but ol…

Anyone who hangs out on an a forum talking about their IQ is likely to be miles up their own ass. All the people who I've known in my life who, when I met them, immediately struck me as very intelligent never mentioned or even hinted at it. It was obvious from the way they spoke about and engaged with topics as well as their litany of achievements. I've also met a handful of people in my life who bragged about how "smart" they were. Doesn’t look like a celebrity, she was showing me a photo on her phone and I noticed she also has a handful of what look like saved Snapchat selfies with text of this dude. Possibly a friend or a brother, but i don’t know anyone who sets their friend/brother as a screensaver
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 08:39 PM

Thought this girl was interested in me because she was constantly glancing at me. Today I noticed she has some guy as the screensaver on her phone, which is pretty much the modern day version of noticing a wedding ring.

That's what I want to believe, but my nightmare scenario basically goes like this: \I approach her and start talking to her, she's smiling intermittently but not very talkative.** Me in my mind: "Wow, she's smiling, avoiding eye contact, I think she's even blushing a bit this is going great!" Feel like the cultures shifted a lot around that. People are way more open about their steroid use nowadays. But I think the general public doesn’t realise things like every single Hollywood actor being on steroids, sets a real unobtainable standard for men.

I feel like I have to, even if it’s going to take me years to build size. Women, at least where I live, do not like thin boys. Funny think is I started around the same time as a buddy of mine who was overweight. His transformation in a year was a lot more dramatic, but it had more to do with him dropping weight than building muscle.

Fitness as a man can be really depressing. I spent a solid year maintaining a lifting routine and by the end of it I look literally exactly the same in clothes, and without clothes I just look marginally more muscular. If I didn't enjoy the mental benefit from lifting I probably would have given up a long time ago. Everyone knows it takes a long time to build a good physique, but it's not until you actually start trying to build that physique that you truly appreciate how long it takes. Like I'v…

I'm kind of 50/50 on it, I feel like I would but there's no way to know she's a virgin unless she outright tells you which she won't unless you already have some sort of relationship. On the other hand I feel like at my age any woman who's still a virgin probably has either close to zero libido or a lot of hangups regarding sex. Neither of which I'd be interested in dating. It's fucking easy as shit for a woman to get laid these days, and there's almost zero social stigma.

Not being approached in public or at a bar is literally what women have been asking for for decades. Women asked to be left alone, now they’re being left alone.

I like how the implication is that misogynistic men don’t get laid. Meanwhile every man knows plenty of guys who have no issues getting laid, then spout the most off the cuff misogynistic takes about women when they’re not around.

I used to think of modern dating as a prisoners dilemma for men. The more I think about it though it seems more like a tragedy of the commons. Every man is incentivised to act thirsty to get laid as much as they can, leading to a shit situation for everyone.

Guys want girls who they have things in common with, and they (mostly) know their league; they know that 10/10 supermodel is probably not going to date them. You think a guy who loves video games wouldn't love a girlfriend who could play video games with him? I know a dude who's really into cars, and wouldn't you know it the girl he's dating is also a huge petrol head.

The point is women's preferences aren't logical. I have no problem with a girl who's in amazing shape, conventionally attractive, has a good personality saying she wants a guy who's tall, attractive, and interesting. But all too often I see girls who don't take care of themselves, aren't conventionally attractive, and are quite frankly pretty boring, complaining that they can't attract the funny 6'2" handsome guy. IMO it's one of the worst things about society today. If you're genuinely kind and helpful people will think of you as weak and stupid, on the flip side they think fucking people over and lying makes them "smart" and being an asshole means they're "strong". More of a problem for men IME, I see guys who I know deep down are kind dudes, but they won't show it because they don't want other guys to think of them as weak, and I know other dudes who are egotistical fuckheads but think they're geniuses…

I've noticed that when men list their desires for a partner, there's usually some logic behind it; they keep in shape so they want a woman who keeps in shape. They have hobbies and a personality so they want a woman whose hobbies/personality lines up with their own. Meanwhile women when they desire a partner just kind of feel entitled to it, there's no logic or reasoning behind it, they just feel like they intrinsically deserve x/y/z guy.

Unironically true in my experience. Matched with an absolute bombshell on a dating app, seemed to have a pretty interesting personality too, thought "wow how is this person still single?". As a short man I think the only women I can truly empathize with when it comes to dating are ugly women, like the really ugly women... This is because, as a guy, I know how guys treat ugly women. You could be the sweetest kindest woman doing everything guys say they want and you'll still get treated like you're invisible to them. Meanwhile a drop dead gorgeous woman will get treated much kinder by men, they'll get cut a lot more slack, and they'll get complimented for the smallest of things. For…

Heard recently about "Shifting Baseline Syndrome", it was in relation to climate change and how our expectations for what's a "normal environment" changes over time as we become more exposed to the new environment. I think it points out something fundamental in human nature, and think it can be applied somewhat to what we see today in the modern dating market. It also depends on how much you care about your job. The more you care the less you should do it This is exactly why I want to figure out a way to subtly figure out if she’s actually interested in me or if I’m misinterpreting signals.

The kind of vibes I've been getting from her recently is she either really likes me and is shy, or is put off by me. The fact that I'm 50/50 on if she likes me or is creeped out by me makes it 10x worse. If she was creeped out by me then snapchat has probably just commited social murder on me, because she'll tell all her friends about "that creep from work who was looking her up on snapchat". I'm just gonna play it cool and hope it's pray it's nothing, if she doesn't say anything hopefully I'm in the clear. My own fault tbh, my nosiness got the better of me, there was really no reason for me to search her in t…

Yeah I'm hoping that, the only times I've gotten "added you by search" notifications were spam accounts that were trying to add me then send spam messages. I just can't figure out what could have changed between the first and second search? Maybe it was just that our locations were close when we were in work and then it "updated" because we weren't anymore.

Basically there's this cute girl at work, who I was 50/50 on if she liked me or was put off by me, I curious if she was on Snapchat so I searched up her name (didn't add her just typed her real name into search) and low and behold an account popped up with "you may know", I assumed probably because I have her in my contacts (…

As a guy I think the reason it's so hard for men to "pick up on signals" is because the "signals" can often have complete polar opposite meanings depending on the girl. For example: Girl is always hanging around with you, talks to you all the time and hangs out with you a lot, it could mean: She is very interested in you and is trying to signal she's interested in you as much as she can without outright telling you. Or, it could mean she sees you as nothing but a friend and the reason she's so b…
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/23 01:54 AM

Just curious are you a man or a woman? I know "friendzoned" is a cliche but in my experience it's often times men trying their heart out to date a girl but she doesn't reciprocate his feelings. So it ends up with her thinking of him as just a friend, like you said maybe at times considering him but not seriously. Meanwhile he is constantly wishing they were together.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/23 09:35 PM

Do you guys think (straight) women and (straight) men can be platonic friends? Maybe this says more about me but if I see a girl and a guy hanging out together a lot I immediately assume either: They're dating, or one of them (usually the guy) wishes they were dating. If one of them is gay it's a different story but I just really can't see straight men and women being close friends and there being nothing else going on.

As a young teenager sure, I pined after the attractive girls. “Elevating my mindset” is what brought me to this conclusion years ago. You can be a sweet kind and caring man, and you know what? Women will treat you like shit. Not outright but subtlety; they stop viewing you as a “man” and so they won’t treat you the same way they treat other men.

Y’all don’t want that. Y’all keep saying you want men who are emotionally intelligent and in touch with their feelings, then you find one and you think he’s weak and effeminate. Getting in shape and earning more money (and likely more social status in the process) is exactly what guys should be doing. I don’t know many emotional men who kill it with the ladies. But I do know lots of in shape narcissists who do just fine with women.

As someone who’s gen Z, the generational changes in dating aren’t talked about enough on here. If you’re not gen Z you have to understand the dating landscape is just different these days. Social media, dating apps, and social trends in general have completely changed the game. It would be like trying to compare pre-industrial to post-industrial farming. Sure they’re both “farming” but the methods and problems they face are not the same.

Social interaction is absolutely a human need. Solitary confinement makes people go borderline insane, to the point where it’s pretty much considered inhumane for all but the most dangerous of criminals. Sex is a lower need than social interaction but still needed to be a healthy functional adult.

I always thought “gym bro” was a meme but the dudes who frequent the gym really are the most red pilled guys you’ll meet. I suppose it attracts that kind of person, they wouldn’t bother working out if they didn’t think women care a lot about looks. Which is a body that actually has quite a lot of muscle, and would take a shit load of time in the gym to achieve. Either you don't actually know your own height, or you live in some outlier land, the data doesn't support that. Younger people in the US are taller on average... by between 0.2-0.6 inches. Plenty of guys in the 5'10-6'2 range but 6'5? 6'6? That's still extremely rare

Dating apps are basically one big prisoners dilemma for men. Men can either focus on a small handful of women, or shotgun it and try to talk to as many as possible. How is this a prisoners dilemma? Well for men as a whole it would be better if women’s inboxes weren’t flooded with messages because then your message would stand out more. I think the reason men try less now (in terms of dating) is because of how apparent the black pill has become to most young men. Pre-2010s everyone bought into the whole "personality is most important" speil. If a guy kept failing he'd assume it's because his "game was weak". Now? Dating apps and the internet in general have made it abundantly obvious that none of that actually mattered. At the end of the day looks were the number 1 most important factor. How low do you think sexlessness will drop before the general public views it as an issue? Because so far every few years a new study on sex will drop and it's always the same thing: the number of people (particularly men) getting laid drops a few percent, and people are losing their virginity at later ages.

Whenever people debate dating online, especially whenever the topic of height comes up; I wish people would stop misusing the word "preference". Seemingly no one can tell the difference between a preference and a requirement. It's fine to have both, but I wish people would be honest when they have a requirement in a relationship and try and soften it by saying it's a "preference". I have a height "preference", I would prefer a girl to be shorter than me but I would (and have in the past) date so…

I've had this personal theory that the biggest thing holding average men back on dating apps are just numbers. The statistics suggest best case scenario men out number women 4:1, and worst case it's like, 10:1. Just by the numbers alone if we assume people pair off at 1:1 ratios then that's anywhere between 3/4 to 9/10 men on dating apps who just get nothing. What I don't understand is; with dating apps now more prevalent and socially accepted, why is there still so few women using them?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/22 05:36 PM

My original goal, as lame as it sounds, was to get in better shape for dating apps. But right now all my profile pictures are 2 years old at least. I can't bring myself to upload new photos because, although I'm much fitter now, I keep thinking things like "your chest is poorly developed, your forearms don't stand out enough, legs could be bigger."

Modern dating is rapidly becoming (probably already there tbh) a two tier system for men. The proverbial "middle class" of dating (long term relationships only) is dying. It's turning into one group of guys who get physically get fucked all the time, and the other group who get metaphorically fucked all the time. Japan is pretty close to it already with 40% of men in their 20s having never been on a date compared to only 25% of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 10:11 AM

Why are fat women so seriously over represented on dating apps? The average girl I see day to day is a fairly healthy weight, only like 10% are overweight. But look on any dating app and like 30-50% are overweight.

Imo no woman will ever be able to relate to men when it comes to dating. Even the most successful men can relate to unsuccessful men on some level. Women however simply can't, the world is just so vastly different when it comes to dating for them. That's why you end up with women giving men a lot of shitty useless advice, they've never had to actually try in dating so they don't even know if the advice works.

Pretty much everything men have achieved or done was purely to increase their chances of sex. Sex sells because it's what society cares most about. It's their own private matter but they still judge others based on how much sex they're having.

Life is meaningless without sex, anyone who says otherwise is coping hard. From a scientific standpoint reproduction is the only reason we exist, and it's the main biological drive of all life. From an artistic standpoint art basically revolves around sex. The vast majority of songs, paintings, poems, and movies have sex as a main theme. From a social standpoint not having sex makes you an outcast. People will completely change their view of you based on if you have or have not had sex, and how …

Not a myth, moreso as I said a symptom of not taking care of yourself. If you take care of yourself you can dodge the wall, otherwise you're going to wake up one day and realise you've hit it. And it's a hell of a lot harder to try and climb over the wall than it is to just try and avoid it in the first place.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/22 09:20 AM
4

"The wall" imo, is just people making sense of the lack of diet and exercise in modern society. As long as you don't completely overdo it you can get away with minimal exercise and a shit diet when you're a young adult. Once you start getting older though all of it catches up on you. I've seen one girl who I had a huge crush on when I was 19 has gone from super hot to just average in the space of like 2 years; all because of the weight she's put on. True. I mean if you think about it men outnumber women 4 to 1 at best on dating apps; at best! If we assume everyone pairs off 1:1 then that means that 75% of men on apps are just out of luck.

You'd be surprised how many virgins are in college. Not just men either. Seen a report from some English university (cambridge maybe?) that said like 1/3rd of their students were virgins.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 11:08 PM

In college, virgin, but no gf - so this question is 2/3rds suited to me. I'd be willing to wait a few months. I'd be fine just dating and getting to know each other at first, but if we were say 3 months in and she still wasn't ready then I'd be done.

Because men and women think each other suck for different reasons. If a woman dated a man and all he wanted was casual sex and had zero interest in going on dates or getting to know her she'd probably think he sucked. Tbh I have far more respect for women who don't cheat than men who don't cheat. Because for the average man not cheating isn't that difficult, just don't actively pursue other women. For women on the other hand all they have to do is exist and they're more than likely going to get propositioned or hit on every now and then. Women are pretty much constantly having their morals tested whereas most men have never been been in a position where they could cheat.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/22 01:04 PM

Not nearly as important as the sexual aspect. If it were looks wouldn't be the main thing people look for in partners
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/22 05:02 AM

I honestly don't see why any man would ever want to settle down in the modern age. If you're attractive and able to get sex casually from women there's no point going further than "girlfriend" stage with any woman. And if you're not attractive and can't get sex casually then you're just going to end up getting divorced or cheated on.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/22 04:53 AM

You say "LVM" implying that the ones who support roe v wade being overturned are lvm. The problem is women are going to be "picky" based on looks, not morals. I'm overall pretty left leaning and get 0 action. Meanwhile plenty of staunch right wing guys I know who actively discourage abortion have never struggled to get laid, even by women who claim they care about abortion rights.

Pretty much every time a man expresses his discontent with his sex life. Literally a few weeks ago was driving home from the gym with my gym buddy and was talking about how I really need to find a girlfriend or something and he pulls out the "there's more to life than girls".
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/22 10:36 PM

Your missing the point though, those people don't think much about music because there's nothing stopping them from enjoying it. In this hypothetical scenario you're unable to listen to music so of course you'd end up obsessing over what you're missing. It's all too easy to just brush sex aside when know it's not something you legitimately might die without ever having experienced.

I used to live with a couple almost exactly like that. Girl was like 5'2" easily over 200lbs, also a pretty shitty girlfriend (abusive when she got drunk). The dude? He was 6ft tall, extremely athletic, and got a tonne of attention from women. I just didn't get it, he would not have struggled to find a nicer and fitter girlfriend I have no idea why he decided to stay with her.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/22 10:24 PM

I don't get how so many people can just brush virginity off as "there's more to life than sex!". There's more to life than music; but if suddenly you could never listen to music, just magically became incapable of processing any form of melody or music, you'd probably be pretty upset. When all your friends are talking about going to concerts, or listening to their favourite new songs and meanwhile you just can't. Don't you think it would suck a lot of joy out of your life?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/22 10:12 PM

Yeah, that'd be the point. 6'4"is tall enough that you're going to be taller than the vast majority of men save a few outliers, but still not so tall that it starts to turn women off. There's just no downsides, other than the health I guess (taller men on average die sooner). But I'd rather live a fulfilling 70 years at 6'4" than a shitty 90 years at 5'7".

It's much harder to get into a relationship as a man, way harder than as a woman. Thus men are more willing to settle because they know they'll struggle to get into another one. Women on the other hand can break up with one guy and be dating another before the end of the day. So they don't fear losing a relationship like men do.

Something I noticed anecdotally in OLD: The older you set your age range the more demanding they seem to get. Girls in the 19-early 20s range mostly just have jokes and shit in their bio. Set it to like 29+ though and all I see is a bio that's a list of demands. Oh yeah and I know it's a cliche but these women have not taken care of themselves. As bad as it is for young guys I dont know how older guys are supposed to find anyone. It's basically "you have to love me for me, I get to reject you fo…

It's been my experience that these 20-something women refuse to compromise on anything when looking for a man. Purely from personal experience (albeit anecdotal) I think this is a case of correlation ≠ causation. Video games have been a growing market for a long time, so it's really not a shock that young adults are playing them more now than before. That's pretty much how I always interpreted it when women said they want "nice guys". I think where a lot of niceguys™ come from is the fact that most women will choose attractive + not nice, over nice + not attractive. It's like imagine someone told you they just want a nice reliable car, that's easy on fuel. Then you show them a 2008 Toyota Avensis and they turn it down because it's not fast and doesn't look cool. I don't know how these things work in the US, whether you have to vote to change the policy itself or vote in representatives to change policies, but I imagine that those women will secretly vote to bring back abortion while simultaneously telling everyone they hope it stays illegal. Women lose all respect for a guy as soon as he opens up about his feelings. I don't know if they do it consciously or subconsciously but it happens. As a man for me it's body. Both have their thresholds though. My rationale is that, given the choice, I'd take a (5/10 looks 10/10 body) any day over the inverse. If I'm being honest I'd even say I'd prefer (4/10 looks 8/10 body) over (8/10 looks 6/10 body).

Completely refused to even entertain the idea that it might be a symptom of something wrong with modern society and immediately jumped to pinning the blame solely on the individual.

It's interesting to me that with almost every problem in modern society people look at the full picture; and examine what could have lead to that situation. For example when obesity rates are rising people are quick to tout the changes in our diets and lifestyles in recent generations. But when virginity rates are increasing all of a sudden it's just personal responsibility, everyone rejects the idea that huge cultural changes in recent decades could have lead to it.

Him: 3. Could be a 5 or 6 if he got better glasses and got in good shape. Me: it's impossible to accurately rate yourself. If I had to say I'd say 4 or 5. I have a weird dichotomy about my looks. On one hand I've had tinder matches tell me they think I'm hot, and I have been occasionally hit on irl by both girls and gay guys. On the other hand I'm still a virgin, and if I really was "hot" I would have lost it long ago.

Imo the pandemic was a catalyst that accelerated trends that already existed. I've similarly also heard some of my friends, who don't use reddit and have no idea what "pills" even are, bitching and complaining about women and dating. I think most of them are just seeing and experiencing what most guys on here are. Average dudes struggling on dating apps, struggling to get a gf, then seeing their hot male friend bang a different girl every week. It's all just coming to a pass now, so many men str…

The 6 6 6 thing is a bit of a meme, but I'm sorry you're naive if you think looks don't play a huge role in pretty much every relationship. If you were ugly she probably might have been friends with her but you wouldn't have back at her apartment getting it on with her. Be honest, if she was obese and ugly would you still be stoked to sleep with her when you found out she was a "music girl"? That's ultimately what people on here are talking about. It sucks when you're below average looks or heig…

Fake nudes being spread around, especially if someone is claiming it's their "real nudes". If you've been following the semi-recent Blizzard controversy you'll know how horrible a situation it can be if you're being sexually harassed. Now imagine a woman working in a job like that, and now a big rumour starts about how much of a slut she is after her "nudes" are shared to everyone around the office. And all it took was some dude making a deepfake and sharing it to everyone.

Is there any data that shows it by age range? I have a suspicion that it's skewed by older people. I see lots of people late 30s+ walking around who are clearly overweight, but the average early 20s woman really doesn't seem to be all that fat. No doubt if you go by mean everyone is fatter, and I haven't looked at the data, but I bet if you go by the mode it's relatively unchanged.

Honestly think being short and/or ugly is going to hinder you more than actually being autistic. I say this because I have a second cousin who was diagnosed with asperger's syndrome when he was a child. He's definitely a bit odd, the fact he struggles to relate to people and their emotions really shows. But, despite genuinely having asperger's, he's tall (like 6'2"), family is pretty well off, and can pull off the "pretty boy" look. He had plenty of success with women, came out as gay a few year…

As someone early 20s I disagree. If you're genuinely average as a dude I think you'll have an easier time finding a relationship than a one night stand. It's not difficult to find a guy to fuck you on tinder so naturally they only go for the hot guys for ONS. For a LTR though an average guy has a decent shot.

Yes average men can find partners on dating apps. But make no mistake, the odds are NOT in your favour. Friend of mine is almost the same height as me (I'm 5'6", he's 5'7"), overweight by BMI (like 80kg), literally has a receding hair line too, yet still has gotten 2 relationships off Tinder. It takes a very long time though, and a shit load of effort. The Great Gatsby was really just a story contrasting Beta Bux Jay Gatsby, and Alpha Fucks Tom Buchanan. Think about it, Gatsby spends his whole life orbiting a woman (Daisy) who doesn't give a fuck about him, and is not as perfect as he thinks she is. The difference is a woman can say she's cheating and there'll still be a line of guys willing to nail her. It has no effect on her ability to get laid. A guy on the other hand is gonna significantly reduce his chances if he's open about the fact he's cheating, as even women who want a ONS won't want to sleep with him if he's cheating. The British pharmaceutical industry literally started bitching and complaining about how "unfair" it is that they're not allowed to advertise in the EU. They would fucking love for people to start pestering their doctors for drugs.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/21 05:25 AM

I'm from the EU. They don't run ads for antidepressants like they do in the US, purely because it's illegal to advertise prescription drugs. Doctors still over-prescribe them though.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/21 05:20 AM

Unfortunately the standard of therapy in my country is pretty low. If you apply for therapy you get put on a waiting list for anywhere between 6 months to 2 years before you'll even see a therapist. In most cases it's gonna be at least a year. I'm glad it worked for you it's just that from personal experience with people I've seen in my life (Believe me, I've known plenty of people who've gone on antidepressants), they don't seem to come out any better on the other side.

I mentioned it in another reply but basically try and address whatever is making you depressed as best you can over the long term. And in the meantime you gotta get some goals to work on. Fitness, education, side projects, art, whatever it takes to give you a sense of purpose. You should also probably cut out or limit anything that's exasperating the depression. If an average, or below average, man started saying he'll only date the hot girls everyone would tell him to stop being so picky about looks. How do people justify chastising those men but when an average or below average woman does the same all of a sudden it's "that's okay, she just has a preference for the top 20% of men."

Is that necessarily a bad thing though? If you ask me, yes. Humans are naturally social, we don't enjoy being alone for long periods of time and I think relationships are the same. I think the thing with women being unhappy is if they didn't secure a husband AND they want kids. If they want kids they're on a biological clock, and trying to raise a kid by herself isn't going to work out well for her or the kid. And I'm not just saying that to "dunk on" single moms. Nope, most men have a "quit while you're ahead" approach to dating. Literally an average girl who is genuinely into him is all it takes for most guys to be content. You have to keep in mind most men don't have options like most women do when it comes to dating. So if a guy was in that situation he'd take the first passable girl and run, he's not going to keep pushing his luck.

I have similar feelings about weight. Some women carry weight better than others, tbh I don't consider myself "picky about weight" in that I don't care if you're carrying a few extra pounds. Hell I know a couple of women who fall into the "overweight" category but I'd still say they're incredibly attractive. Women are able to support themselves just fine these days so they literally don't care how well off you are. Most important thing women are looking for is height. Legitimately everything else comes second to height as a man dating in 2021. Doesn't surprise me that he's struggling at 5'7", he could be perfect in every other way but none of it matters when he's not at least 5'10"+

Boobs to men are like abs to women. It's a bonus sure but not the be all and end all. And having visible abs because you're underweight isn't really the same as having them because you're in amazing shape. Similarly having big boobs because you're overweight isn't the same as having them when you're in shape.

The looks bar being so high is also why the effort bar is so low. Ugly guys figure what's the point in trying when women are just going to choose the hot guys no matter what. And the hot guys quickly realize they can put in 0 effort and still have a line of girls waiting for them.

You're trying to make a strawman out of the argument. The original point was that (most) women aren't going to give you an honest answer about why you're struggling especially when it comes to looks. But yes I have had women say they "don't care about height or muscles" and all they want is a nice sweet sensitive guy. And every time the response from women on here is either "it's your own fault", "quit whining", or they just flat out deny that it's an issue. I think it's just that most guys think they have a better shot with less attractive women. Sure it would be awesome to date a girl with an awesome personality who is also beautiful with a 10/10 body. I think the "women look for successful guys" is a remnant of a bygone era. Back before women were in the workforce and were expected to raise a family they would have been told "Make sure you marry a nice successful man, you need to raise a family after all!"; and if she picked a bad man she was stuck with a shitty life. I'm not sure what percent I'd put the split at but it's somewhat even I guess. I believe that there is more than just physical attraction in relationships.
