There are people that are annoying to be around because they are obsessed with narrow interests such as comic books, anime, coin collecting, etc. But these people are harmless. Tyler is annoying to be around because of his obsession with The Game and he's also harmful because he's trying to manipulate and get something from everybody.

So true. Not even in the most socially retarded past parts of my past life did I ever think RSD could fix my problems though.

I'm just surprised that anybody can get through an entire Tyler video on Youtube. He has the most weird and obnoxious mannerisms.

Me personally I grew up with terrible anxieties in general, not just with women. Now that I'm older and wiser I actually agree with you, I thought I was afraid of rejection for most of my life when the truth is it was actually a side effect of my unhappy childhood

Take a guy who is a 3/10, give him confidence and game, and he will still get rejected by any decent looking girl. Not every decent looking girl, just most of them. I'm definitely below average in looks, borderline ugly depending on who you ask, yet when I go out I do get IOI's from a few girls that you would think would only be interested in good looking guys. I simply accept that most attractive girls are going to ignore me.

My problem, and I think this is the case with almost every guy that gets into PUA material, was that I had terrible anxiety issues most of my life. Reading PUA material doesn't help fix the core problem.

I think this is true for the typical club / high maintenance women whose life revolves almost entirely around social status. These women are frequently surrounded by very good looking, high status men. But the women who are more homely, reserved and work in a boring corporate environment will likely be much more receptive to a cold approach if you've got your appearance in order. So many guys that work in these environments look and act like schlubs and the women they work with are desperate to …

Thank you for explaining this. I used to be one of those guys that tried to follow routines and of course they never worked. Turns out my real problem was that I needed to just learn how to converse like a normal person.

"This really frustrated me winging with a friend. He would say they are not hot enough." I used to have this same attitude myself and it's terrible. I realize now that this attitude came from misplaced arrogance and pride.

This is a pretty personal question that I understand you may not want to answer but was your childhood unhappy in any way? In my case it was pretty unhappy and talking with other guys that have serious approach anxiety it almost always stems from lack of affection from a parent while growing up.

Good points. Personally I'm almost done de-programming myself of most of this PUA and self-help advice (some of it is valid) and what you're pointing out with regards to the abundance mentality is correct. The problem with it is that when you're trying to get better with approaching women it puts extra stress on you because if you get rejected (which is the likely outcome) you think in the back of your head that the reason for the rejection is that "I didn't believe in the abundance mentality en…

May I suggest getting a haircut and going with a totally clean shaven look? My opinion is that if you can't shoot 100% for the Thor/caveman look then just go in the opposite direction instead. I'm an Asian male in his 30s that's never shaved once for what it's worth.

Honestly this is why so many PUA guys who have been "successful" (personally I think most of them greatly exaggerate their level of success) are so depressed. They're chasing club sluts that have no redeeming qualities aside from their looks.

Yeah what /u/Hazeleyedguy14 said below, there's bits of PUA advice that are useful but in general it's almost all crap. If those PUA guys you went out with were analyzing every small detail of an approach then those are not the type of guys you should be listening to (doesn't mean you need to stop going out with them, just take what they say with a grain of salt). I have this analogy about why PUA theory and over-analysis of interactions is bad: when you engage in this activity you're treating w…

Clean and Press/Jerk lifts. If you follow the proper form it forces you to shrug your shoulders back like /u/OGlancellannister recommends below.

AA come from fear of judgement. Just realize that someone judging you doesn't mean squat in the grand scheme of human existence. We'll all be old and ghoulish looking one day and then we die. The End.

No, not any girl can be yours. That's pure delusion. Women aren't a computer program where if you input A you always get B. In the prime of his PUA days Paul Janka said his success rate was 5% - 10%.

Were you turned down by Asian women who are actually immigrants (not born in the U.S.)? Those are the ones that usually insist on dating (also usually immigrant) Asian men, I suspect because they prefer conversing in their native languages. American-born Asian women tend to prefer to date white men for the same reason that we would like to date white women: status points and bragging rights. Dating in America is totally dysfunctional and cutthroat!

Status points and bragging rights. Also the "ethnic women mostly prefer men of their ethnicity" assumption is more complicated for Asians. A lot of American-born Asian women actually prefer to date out. I'm a lot more aware of this phenomenon because I'm Asian. Anyway I kind of agree with you. A lot of American-born white women have really bad attitudes, don't get why so many men want to put up with that.

Talk therapy is one thing although from what I've heard you have to work hard to find a therapist that actually understands your problems. But DO NOT take any prescription medications to deal with your anxiety or depression issues. Not ever. These medications are seriously dangerous. It's painful to confront your personal demons head on without the aid of medication but it's the only way to slay them once and for all.

I was in a similar boat as you. 100% Asian and took music lessons as a kid. You have to start getting noticeably bigger and fitter through lifting and fitness. Get a personal trainer if you need motivation. The brutal truth is that as Asian or half-Asian guys we have to work out for most women to even give us a chance. But hey, the world's not fair. Feel free to PM me if you're still feeling down.

I'm in a similar boat, I'm not photogenic and hate the way I look in photographs. I get much a much better response from women in person because of my fitness.

Obviously I don't know what minority you are but I think African-American and Hispanic guys can do okay if they've got their appearance together. If you're any other minority (that's that group I fall into) I think meeting girls online is pretty much useless, too much working against you because of societal stereotypes.

Your words apply to interactions with other guys as well. Become the fun guy at the party and your confidence will naturally increase because everybody wants to talk to you. Don't think of it as becoming an attractive male, you want to become an attractive person overall.

No, never. It's a very unhealthy dynamic for both the man and the woman involved.

To be fair the narcissism issue is much worse in certain places. Here in NYC the narcissism of many girls is off the charts although there's a ton of cool people as well if you frequent the right venues.

If you've been going on traditional dates where you sit across the table from each other and order dinner and drinks a great way to alleviate anxiety is to stop doing this. Let's face it, the traditional date is incredibly stressful (and expensive!). Make it easier on yourself and your date by suggesting something more casual like taking a walk in the park or going to a museum. Not only will you spend less on the date but you'll be seen as daring and edgy by thinking outside the box.

Watch movies (especially older ones) that feature charming male lead characters (i.e. Sean Connery as Bond) and try to emulate their speaking styles and mannerisms.

"what he says affects my confidence more than the actual rejection!" Sounds like a friend that you should consider dropping. I understand if it's just lighthearted ball-busting but this guy sounds like he's privately jealous of your courage to cold approach and doesn't want to see you improve with women.

"How to avoid? Stop being a pussy. Being friends is cool, but consoling her about how she's awesome and not a slut for giving a random guy blowjob in the club, isn't the kinda shit you need to be dealing w her." Great advice. Her girlfriends are the ones who can console her about her bad decisions, if anything as a guy friend you should be the one calling her out on her self-rationalizing b.s.

Ironically once I stopped being the "nice guy" that you've just described I actually became a nicer guy overall. Why? Because I stopped getting frustrated and upset over doing nice things for women for nothing and just accepted the way they act as being a feature of their femininity, not a bug.

I don't think it's "creepy", that's too harsh. However if you really want to get a girl interested in you commenting on her body right off the bat is a completely incorrect way of going about things. What you should do is make a playful, funny comment about something in the picture that lets her know that you've got an edge to your personality. i.e. If she's wearing ripped jeans you could comment with "Don't know if anybody's pointed this out to you but your jeans are ripped"

Yes and I can say his approach works. First of all I don't know where you get the impression that he's good looking. He's actually a pretty average looking guy and I'd say below average looking compared to guys in NYC. He's not Paul Janka who actually is both tall and good looking (no disrespect to Janka whose advice I appreciate as well). I think I know what you're going through. I'm probably even uglier than you are and as a result I let this perception of my own objective attractiveness feed …
