Yikes. That mindset greatly increases the risk of self-deletion. While I agree that a life without sex is very unfulfilling, it’s not necessarily a good reason to take a one way trip to the great beyond.

I don’t think you really understand what it means to be an introvert. Especially an introvert with anxiety issues. It’s difficult enough just to drive to the club and walk in the door. And then you expect that person to be sociable and have a good time. And then you expect the dude to be able to approach women? And you think that the guy is going to be capable of being charismatic enough to get the attention of a woman? Get real. It’s easier to move a mountain.

If the woman is intoxicated enough to “make a bad decision”, she is intoxicated enough that she may not clearly remember what happened. That often leads to a grey area where it is not clear if there was consent, leading to accusations of SA.

I’ve been choosing the dry spell. I think I’m worried about being unable to perform in the bedroom if I’m not feeling a strong attraction. Maybe it’s time to start thinking about pharmaceutical assistance because I’ve gone without for way too long and I’m not attractive enough to get with the women that really turn me on.

It seems to me that you are focusing on the wrong things. Substance abuse ruins people’s lives. I think you’re going to need to take responsibility for your actions. That doesn’t mean giving up on life. But, it does mean that getting clean needs to be your first priority. Otherwise, everything that you have left is going to fall apart. You need a support system to help you get through your substance abuse and depression issues. Group therapy can do wonders. At this point, inpatient treatment mig…

Yes. But the average woman is much more selective about who she has sex with than the average man.

Playing “hard to get” is one thing. If you want to make the woman work to convince you to buy a dance, I don’t see an issue with that. But, be ready to pay for a dance at some point. Don’t go to a club with the intention of not spending any money. If you are taking advantage of the woman’s patience, without doing anything for her in return, that makes you a douchebag.

I wish this was easier to find. After being divorced, a lifelong relationship seems like an unrealistic goal to pursue. Friends are more likely to be accommodating when you need some space to be yourself.

My ex found someone within two years of the divorce and has been (happily as far as I can tell) married for several years. It’s a real kick in the ass because I’m lonely and I’ve barely been on a date.

Like many of the posts in this subreddit, it seems like you’re over analyzing. Approaches are always a gamble. In my opinion, self esteem is the only limiting factor. When I’m feeling down, I’m not going to take the chance that a rejection might make me feel even worse about myself. If I’m feeling really confident, a rejection isn’t going to bother me. So, I might as well take a chance when I’m feeling good, even if the odds are against me because I have nothing to lose. If you have to follow so…

I guess some people just enjoy the thrill of the chase. Probably the same reason why some people are never satisfied in long term relationships.
/r/seduction21/04/26 09:40 PM

It really depends on what is important to the man. If having sex is enough to make you happy, then casual sex will keep you satisfied. Most men are not completely one dimensional. Eventually most heterosexual men will, at some point in their life, desire companionship and love from a woman. At that point, casual sex and feeling attractive is not enough to satisfy the man.

I think most people would have more dating success if they spent less time over analyzing the social dynamics of dating and put that time into interacting with other people.

It’s a very simple issue of bodily autonomy. Women reject the idea of someone else telling them what they can do with their own body. I don’t think women generally complain about men sharing their feelings of loneliness and sexual frustration. I think women complain when men sound as if they expect women to take on the responsibility for fixing those problems. No one should feel obligated to date or have sex with someone out of pity. Women have the right to be selective about who they want as a …

Herpes, hepatitis B, HIV (AIDS), and HPV can all be treated. However, they cannot be cured. People with one of these diseases are stuck managing the symptoms and trying not to spread it to their sexual partner(s) for the rest of their life. Thankfully, AIDS is no longer a death sentence (even though it is uncommon between heterosexual people, as you stated). However, I think most people would rather not have an incurable disease. I’m not anti-promiscuity. But it makes sense to use condoms and be…

You had my attention with the first paragraph. You lost me with the second paragraph. I agree that men who have casual sex are typically more successful and attractive. However, sleeping with as many women as possible is a good way to end up with a (possibly incurable) STD/STI. While I would like to experience casual sex, I’m not going to “sell my soul” in order to accomplish that.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 05:54 PM

You might be overthinking this. There is a very simple principle that may have been overlooked. Sometimes people try things once and decide they don’t like it. Other times people do the same thing for a while and eventually decide they don’t want to do it anymore. That’s not limited to kinky activities. It could apply to sports or hobbies or anything else couples might do together. Just because your girlfriend played tennis with her ex-boyfriend, she’s not obligated to play tennis with you. It’s…

I think if you have charisma and good looks, most jobs create an opportunity to meet women. There are some exceptions where you would be surrounded by men all day, such as a job in a steel mill. But there are a lot of women in the workforce nowadays, if you’re ok with an office romance. Jobs where you interact with the public obviously provide a wider variety of women to meet.

From the perspective of a middle aged man, I would say live your life and be true to yourself. If you’re frustrated with dating, you should be putting your effort into being the best version of yourself, rather than worrying about when the right guy will show up in your life. If being promiscuous seems like the right choice for you, then go for it - if that is what you really want, as opposed to a knee-jerk reaction to the aggravation of modern dating. Also, be prepared to protect your physical …

I guess it’s both. The sex itself is different. Different people have different preferences. Every individual has preferences for how and where they like to be touched. There are variations on sexual positions that work and don’t work which vary based on who the partner is. One person might like a particular type of music during sex and someone else might like something completely different. One woman might moan softly while another one is a screamer. The discovery of what the other person likes…

I believe in the expression, “Variety is the spice of life.” I’ve been in long term monogamous relationships and was always faithful to my partner. But, no matter how much you try to spice things up, sex with the same person over and over eventually gets boring. I’m currently single and I don’t know if I could ever handle another monogamous relationship. On the other hand, I don’t fully understand the appeal of sleeping with a double digit number of women in one year. It seems excessive. With wo…

Apparently you became “metrosexual”. Definition: A heterosexual man who is sensitive to stereotypic feminine interests and is very concerned with personal appearance, as in grooming and dressing stylishly. If it makes you feel any better, the gay men may think you are bisexual, not completely gay. That would be a good thing in your case, because it means you still give off the vibe of a man who is attracted to women.

It sounds like you split before having any kids. Be very grateful for that. You can make a clean break from her. If you have kids with someone, you can potentially be stuck with that person in your life for decades. After the divorce is final, you are not obligated to ever have to communicate with her again.

I’m definitely not an expert in this area. However, it has become clear to me that, “I don’t have sex unless I’m committed” is usually NOT set in stone. It’s a way to get rid of the thirsty fuckboys. I can’t say that I blame them because there are countless stories of men just using a woman to get off, without any concern for her having an orgasm. If a guy is willing to keep things going without the prospect of an easy lay, he’s probably gonna treat her much better, both in bed and in public.

Please be very careful about including alcohol in your plans. It’s not as big of an issue if you’re in a relationship with the person. But alcohol blurs the lines around consent issues and memory of events. You don’t want her waking up the next day forgetting that she was literally asking for the “D”, and she thinks she was coerced.

Women do have preferences. No matter how much any guy tries, they will not have success with 100% of single straight women. The vast majority of men have to overcome some quality that some women will find less than attractive. A man could be overweight, underweight, balding, have an oddly shaped nose. Maybe the guy has a stuttering problem or a physical disability. I’ll bet you can think of at least one guy you know who has overcome one of these issues to find a remarkably good woman. Height is …

That depends on what you mean by “chase”. Will gorgeous women drop hints that they are interested? Absolutely. I’ve even heard stories from friends about beautiful women giving the guy her phone number without him having to ask for it. It’s important to remember that women find confidence irresistible (real confidence, not false bravado). They may like your improved physical appearance. But the most important change from getting physically fit is probably that it made you much more self-confident.

It can take a while to build self confidence. Don’t make it all about dating/seduction. Some sort of hobby or recreational activity can help to make a person feel good about themselves. That confidence can carry over into dating/sexual situations.

On the other end of the spectrum, you can be handsome and wealthy, with a great personality and you still are unlikely to have success with 100% of single women. You didn’t give any context as to why the divorce is happening. Is she sane and trustworthy? Maybe there is a chance to save the marriage. I think you are partially right. If you meet a woman and think of her as a romantic prospect and she does not reciprocate the feeling, it is unlikely that a friendship will be an adequate consolation prize. However, if you meet a woman and there is no romantic chemistry at all, but you enjoy each other’s company and have common interests, this can develop into a valuable friendship. Kindness matters if you are concerned about being a decent human being. That should be a higher priority than what it takes to get a date. Some middle aged men find their female peers to be jaded, cynical and both physically and mentally worn out. Younger women often still have a bright outlook on life and have vivacious energy. They will typically have a number of potential child-bearing years ahead of them. Some men just think younger women have more to offer. Some older men do take advantage of younger women, but I think it is a mistake to assume the motives of every older man that seeks a relationship with a younger woman.

If your goal is a happy long term relationship, you probably have to make some compromises. It is statistically improbable to find someone who is 10 out of 10 in every category: looks, personality, sense of humor, financial security, etc. For a long term relationships, women (and lots of men) are ok with the partner who is 6/10 in looks but 8/10 in every other way. I think you have a different definition of trust. Trust is mostly a feeling that is based upon an assessment of a person's character, values, statements, and past actions. It is the feeling that in the present and future, the person's actions will be consistent with the type of person that they have shown themselves to be in the past. Trust is the foundation of relationships. Let's assume that the context here is long-term monogamous relationships. Most women will view automatic paternity testing as a red flag that the man has trust issues. If a man trusts a woman to be faithful, logic would dictate that there should be "reasonable suspicion" to believe that a paternity test is required (borrowing a term from the legal system). If a man can't trust the woman to this extent, either he hasn't found the right woman, or he wants …

I don't think much has really changed on this front in the last 100 years or so. Men are allowed to show a little bit of emotion. And a woman can be very loving and supportive of her man. But, ultimately, men are expected to be stoic for the most part. Men are expected to be the rock of strength and the voice of reason. Most women are turned off by a man who can not fulfill this role. Do you have any idea how socially unacceptable it was to divorce, prior to the 1960s/1970s? People stayed in bad relationships because divorce was an equally bad option due to the social stigma. Nowadays, people are much less likely to feel like they are trapped in a bad marriage with no escape. The couples that are actually meant to be together into their 70s and 80s will still do so.

There is some truth to that. But does every discussion have to revolve around physically attractivemen having an advantage? We've all seen gorgeous women dating average looking men. It may not be common, but it does happen. This means that the average guy probably approached the woman at some point, and shockingly, did not get rejected. Just because you're not a male model, you shouldn't assume you are automatically going to have a 0% success rate when approaching women.

I think one of the biggest problems is positive feedback loops aka "a vicious cycle" or a "downward spiral". A young man has problems with self-esteem. This prevents him from being appealing to women. The lack of success with women hurts his self-esteem. This makes him feel even worse about himself. His further lowered self-esteem makes it significantly more difficult to have success with women. This often results in a lack of motivation, which means that the man doesn't take action to improve h…

Do men not have social awareness? I'd say approximately half of men are lacking in social awareness, to some degree. For whatever reason, the social awareness software in the male brain has a lot of glitches.

I would agree on thirst traps - they make no sense unless the woman is seeking a sexual partner or some other type of sexual attention. Kinda gross if that person is in a monogamous relationship. On the other hand, women should be able to do friend activities with other women. OF accounts are a bit of an extreme situation. While OF content creators are very well represented on reddit, they are only a small segment of society, and I think that very few relationships are actually affected by someo…

Legal Marriage is just a contract. It makes it easier to own property jointly. It makes it clear who is entitled to inherit things of value when one person dies. It also helps to affirm who should speak on an individual's behalf when that individual is incapable of doing so for themselves (such as a person having a medical problem). That's about it. A marriage certificate doesn't really do anything else for a relationship. There is also the intangible benefit that it allows two people to publicl…

There are a lot of other considerations, too. In those days, one man could bring home an income that could support a wife and several kids, in addition to himself. Most people at the time (including women) believed that a woman belonged at home, raising the kids and keeping the house neat and tidy. A large number of women were perfectly happy in this role (although, logically, some women probably did not like this idea). Young men were not taught about cooking and cleaning and child care, and th…

I think it is also important to look at jealousy and possessiveness as very toxic states of mind. Mankind (or humankind, if you prefer) should strive to avoid fostering an environment where jealousy or possessiveness exists.

I think this is a very good take. I agree that monogamy is not natural. But that does not make it wrong. While I do not believe that monogamy is not natural, I think establishing a bond with a romantic partner that is based on trust IS in fact, a natural state of existence. In monogamous relationships where one individual (or both individuals) decides to discreetly have another partner, it is the BREACH OF TRUST that is truly damaging to the original relationship, not nessicarily the presence of…

Even nowadays, with more independent women than ever, a woman typically wants a man to contribute at least 50% of the household income. When men have poor access to jobs that pay a living wage, they will struggle to find a relationship partner. So, logically, if a man can find a job that pays well, he has an increased chance of finding a relationship partner.

I am happy to hear that monogamy is working well for you and your spouse. However, the "seven year itch" is a very common phenomenon. I'm sorry if you felt personally attacked. Yeah, it's nice to have an emotional connection, too. I don't mean nessicarily being "in love". But, strongly liking the person for more than just their body heightens the experience. Actually getting to know the person, and being able to genuinely say "I like you" is really powerful. Especially because at that point, making sure the other person is having a good time becomes a priority. I think that it's kinda difficult to make that emotional connection within a few hours of meeting someone.

A lot of guys with high libido prefer staying with the same person. The sex tends to be better that way, as you and your partner know each other really well, and know what exactly the other person likes. Excellent point. But after a while things can get boring. At a certain point, you run out of ways to "spice things up". At the end of the day most people are monogamic, including high libido men. I have to partially disagree. Monogamy drastically lowers the risk of getting an STD/STI. If there is an accidental pregnancy, raising the child in a loving two-parent environment is a possibility vs. making the choice of being a single parent or terminating the pregnancy. These two factors effectively lead to the conclusion that it is easier to have unprotected sex in a responsible way when a person is in a monogamous relationship. It goes without saying that many people prefer the physical sensation and/or spontaneity when…

The stereotype seems to be that sex being a chore tends to happen after the "honeymoon" phase of a relationship. The honeymoon phase generally lasts somewhere between 6 months and two years. Couples tend to have much longer engagements nowadays, but many are actually married by the two year mark. It is a lot more difficult to just walk away from a partner if you are married to them. I'm just being honest. I'm older than a lot of people on reddit. I don't think that is my issue. I feel like I've got more than enough testosterone to begin with. Started getting crushes on girls from a very young age. Obsessed with trying to fuck young women during my teenage years. Still horny AF. I'm reasonably muscular without even goung to the gym. This statement hits me from two different directions. I know from experience what it is like to be a sexually frustrated young guy. For those of us with a high testosterone level, it can be hell. But I can see the other side of it too. It makes me really sad to hear a woman describe sex as a painful chore. If sex isn't pleasurable for both people, something is definitely wrong. Rather than searching for the unicorn-like nymphomaniac virgin, I think it is a more realistic goal to find a woman who is "a lady in the streets but a freak in the sheets". Someone who is experienced and passionate, but does not make sex their whole personality.

Having experience is not the same as "sleeping around". From a male perspective, a woman in her thirties who has had somewhere between 3 and 9 sexual partners would be wonderful to find. That is not to say that there is anything automatically wrong with a woman whose "body count" is in the double digits. Like most things in life, experience is usually the most effective way to become good at something. If you want a virgin, you have to accept the learning curve that comes along with a lack of ex…

This is good practice. It is helpful if sometimes you go a little out of your way to compliment someone without expecting anything in return, like a date or a phone number. I will tell you why. You will make the girl feel good about herself - that is basic human kindness, which is a quality that you want to cultivate in yourself. First of all, this is a generalization. It does not apply to every man. Second, I'm not saying that the result will nessicarily be sexual violence or violence towards women. In other species, the males who do not have a mate become violent towards the other males with whom they are in competition. Im thinking of bucks (male deer) that during mating season they smash their antlers together until one gives up or dies. "But those are deer and we are human", you may say. I predict an increase in violence. Males are genetically programmed to compete for a mate. If you look at other mammal species, the competition between the males during mating season usually involves physical aggression. Many male humans who do not have relief of their sexual tensions will become violent. I noticed that someone else here predicted an increase in the male suicide rate. That is a reasonable prediction since suicide is violence directed at oneself.

That may be a factor in the failure of the relationship. But I doubt that it was the ONLY significant factor.

Maybe this post would be better suited to a post about breakups rather than seduction. But it sounds to me that this is something that the author wanted to share because many people end up in this situation but it is difficult to put the feelings into words. I don't nesicarrily see this as a post about a man lamenting the loss of one particular woman. I think the message is to be honest with yourself about what you expect from a relationship and how you want to be loved. Otherwise you may end up…

I don't know if my dad was a player. But I've seen old pictures of him before he met my mother. He definitely had swagger and he was popular with the ladies. I guess it skipped a generation. 😕

"If she was doing what she was supposed to do, then she wouldn't have to worry about being beaten by her husband". This is the thought process of many people who defend perpetrators of domestic violence. Notice how similar that sounds to the tl;dr for this post. Nagging isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes a forgetful person needs to be reminded by their spouse to do certain things to keep the household running. But nagging can quickly escalate to a form of verbal and emotional abuse. If a person…

I was very young in the 80s, so I can't really talk from personal experience. However, it does make sense that the AIDS crisis put an end to the "sexual revolution" that started in the 1960s. Imagine being an adult in the late 80s into the early 90s. For the first time since a treatment for syphilis was developed, having sex could end up being fatal.

I saw this in my feed and at first I thought this tweet had been posted to a Forex (foreign currency exchange) trading subreddit that I follow. Apparently Forex traders have something like a 1% success rate of making a net profit in the first year or two of trading. Even knowing that, I feel WAY more confident about winning at Forex rather than having success with approaching women.

How old are you? I'm just asking because I feel like younger guys have better luck with this.

I'm really bad at this too. But I have learned one thing. If you are about to run out of things to say, politely end the conversation on a positive note before it gets awkward - and walk away. Even if you don't get a phone number, it is still good practice for talking with women. Since the woman usually has the power to accept or reject when guys make these approaches, it feels good to turn the tables and be the one to end the conversation if it doesn't feel right. Walking away can really build …

You actually got girls to match with you????? I thought that was just a myth or a legend that this happens.

@traceviral Wow. That is so relatable. Sounds like what I go through. Nice to know I'm not alone.

I'm mostly in agreement with what you have said. I think that this is the crux of the issue: Guy thinks "I would really like to date and/or fuck beautiful, fun sexy wome. Guy has lacking social skills and therefore doesn't have much success with women. He doesn't even know how to even begin approaching women. Guy thinks learning the pickup game is the answer to his quest. Guy gets frustrated because the pickup game is an ADVANCED social skill which he is not even remotely ready to master. You ha…

I appreciate the input I’ve gotten so far. The two questions I keep asking myself are: Should I give my ex-wife extra money beyond the legally required child support? I want my daughter to have opportunities for social and cultural enrichment and other extracurricular activities. I don’t know if I feel comfortable with providing only the bare minimum of my child’s needs. But I’m really struggling financially right now. I would never think of my child as a burden, however I don’t know how much lo…

"The article is pretty interesting, but don't most people do most of that subconsciously? It's part of how you interact with someone you like, no?" This type of interaction may be instinctive to some people but for others it is like trying to learn a foreign language.
