Debt free is the way! I am almost there my self. Just a few more months and I will owe nothing to nobody! Good job brother!

Take a safety course and buy a motorcycle. Two wheeled wind therapy is a thing. It's a Hobbie that you can wrap into others as well. Seeing new places and having experiences, it's incredible for the soul.

Hey there brother, I hear you. I was you. I am at my two year mark as well. I have had some extremely dark days. I have asked God to just take me on many occasions. It's a process but you can overcome it. It is the hardest path to walk down. But it will get better. I know when I used to read that on here I thought, no way in hell. But it's the truth. Time and working on yourself will help you through. Always up for a chat if you ever need anything. My phone is always on. Hang in there friend.

She's gone. The hard part is going to be seeing glimpses of who/how she used to be. Those are going to tug on your heart strings and make you wonder all sorts of things. But at the end of the day you filed, she was served and you are continuing down the hard road of divorce. Divorce is a means to an end, it was bad enough it had to come to this, so don't sit and wonder, it will eat you alive. As for the calm before the storm, I believe it is. My X was acting the same way at first. Then the beggi…

Completely normal. I ofter romanticize about the past and what should have could have been. Don't think of it as you forgetting the pain you were going through, think of it as healing because that's what that is.

I suffered from almost nightly night terrors. I found that if you eat a heavy meal (not spicy) about two hours or shorter before bed, take some melatonin, and no screen time an hour before you hit the pillow it helps. I was also on klonopin at the time and would take a half after the meal. Hope this helps, they will get better with time, trust me.

this for sure. Mine has been trying to replace me since we'll before the divorce was final. Good luck. I know my worth. OP know your worth as well. I have had several women fall at my feet since then, they see my worth but there is so much trauma out there. Respect their trauma don't get attached.

She begged me constantly, cried rivers, apologized for ruining the best thing that's ever happened to her. Then when I reject her is back to war. Then shortly after the venom stops spraying its friendly talk. It's a vicious cycle to say the least, but it's bothering me less and less

There are soooo many similar stories out there. It's sad

Same with mine, the I love you not in love with you turned out to be an affair. She started partying hardcore and reliving her 20's. Not saying yours is an affair but it lines up with countless stories of midlife crisis and losing one's self.

Depends on what transpired to cause the marriage to dissolve. Mine was happy and didn't need me and seemed so carefree, then I moved out and her world crumbled.

My ex has moved on with several people. It was a gut punch at first. But now it's just meh. You will make it through. Do not worry about what she is doing or feel you have to be doing the same or better. Do what YOU want to do and what makes you happy.

Don't let her get you down! I know easier said than done, and coming from a guy who is several months post divorced and still fights and everyday internal battle over someone that treated him like trash. I was told I was doing nothing with my life, I was stagnant and going nowhere. Come to find out she was cheating when I was hearing this new information. Mind you the truth is I am very successful in my field and singlehandedly financially supported a household and kids. But on the inside I was …

That's messed up. When I got divorced it was insane how intertwined we were that I wasn't really aware of. Just canceling the basic household stuff or getting it in her name was a small nightmare. But if she signed my name for something without my full consent I would flip my lid!

Just a thought check your credit report for any inquiries or opened cards that are not yours.

I have some of the same feelings due to us having kids together. Her financial situation is not good and I hear about it all the time. She cheated, lied, treated me like shit. It sucks to see the struggle, but at the end of the day not my problem, I meant nothing to her at the time and she had it all figured out. To the point where she told me over and over I don't need you for shit. Until she realized how much I did behind the scenes.

Then I would suggest you do it. I know it's hard but why stay with someone that dosent want to be with you. The longer you wait the worse it can get. My ex and I did most of the legwork ourselves, it was fairly simple, if most is agreed upon

Delete all her windows into what you are doing, she can be mad all she wants but it will save you TONS of headache, trust me. I thought you said she wanted the divorce, now she won't file?

Mine did the same. She deleted me first, but lost her shit when my family and friends dropped her. She thought life would remain the same.

I do the same with the notes app. When I start getting to that place in my mind I pull it out and read through all the bullet points.

Every word...wow. I will be re reading your post for sure. No I do not want to go back to her ever, I would never let that happen. I was the one who pushed and wanted the divorce. She begged and pleaded every which way. But like you said I think of her out of habit and it's a tough one to break. I think of how I loved being her husband, I loved taking care of her no matter what. But through all of that it was only about her and never me. Even after the divorce she still tries to make it about he…

I know, and healing is not linear. I thought that the divorce being final would help more. Having to see her all the time does not do me much good either. I need to breathe and just chill. Easier said than done.

I would say you need to stop entertaining these calls from her that get you all wound up. If the child is with her she needs to take care of the tantrums not you.

I hear you. I put everything I had into making my wife happy. I turned myself into a doormat. Not any longer. I saw a quote on here, It's hard to get walked on when your standing up. Since I moved out she is realizing how much I did for her.

I could have written this myself and agree with all the above advice. I tried to stick it out and worked really hard to get past it. In the end it was the end of us. I'm still sad to my core, still have love for what I thought I had. It's like she died, but we have kids so I see her all the time and it's haunting.

We are very similar. But I am still in the thick of my depression. Trying hard everyday to just keep moving. The meeting other women part is not even on my radar yet. I know I am an attractive fit guy when I look in the mirror, but I still feel/see my broken heart every day and it brings me down quite a bit.

Your feelings are valid and normal. I know that divorcing my STBX is the right thing for me and my kids in the long run. She has proven this to me time and time again. She has given me every reason to divorce and yet it still hurts. I asked my therapist about this and she said it's hard to turn off all the love immediately. It will take time. Talking with close friends and therapy has helped in leaps and bounds, but I am still an absolute mess. Time is the only thing I see that will help. Take c…

Even though I always disliked the holidays I feel this. I never liked dealing with the decorations but it was her thing and it made the house warm. My suggestion would be to have a friend or two over and decorate if only a little bit. Maybe a small holiday party just to try and have some laughs and forget about everything even for a moment. Don't turn down any invites to others parties, it could be a fun distraction.

This is exactly how I feel. I'm very new to the whole divorce side of things, nothing finalized yet. It's great to hear there is life on the other side. Right now I feel like I'm barely keeping my head above water.

My STBXW had invited me over for dinner a while back. I did so to sit down with the kids. It took everything I had to not grab her and take her upstairs, and i know she would have been down. I had to put up my wall and remember why we are divorcing. It was very tough, the night ended with a small hug and a see ya later. I know if I had acted on my thoughts it would have been a mental setback for me.

I can attest to treating her like a queen and being a Subject. It was all about her, but at the time it didn't matter to me. I thought I was doing what I was supposed to be by honoring my wife. I'm doing what I can for the kids. Work has been very supportive. I need peace. It's good to hear I am not alone but I wish none of us were here.

Thank you very much for your insite into this. I have to keep reminding myself of all the horrible things she did and continues to do. I am not an angry person by nature but I need to keep that fire lit I feel.

I am trying to move forward and be the best dad I can be to the kids. I just feel stuck in all the hurt and don't know what to do to move forward. She is moving on, and that hurts too. Everyday is a gut punch. I need to figure myself out. Have been in therapy since it happened and has helped a great deal.

No for me yes's for her. I did nothing but honor her and our vows at every moment possible. And I know that may seem hard to belive but I truly did. I had the upmost respect for our relationship, during good and bad times

I could have wrote this myself. 15+ years and kids together. I gave her every piece of me while giving myself nothing. She cheated, she lied, treated me poorly. I now have anxiety and Complex PTSD etc. Even after all that, I type this out in a ball of nerves. The whole thing makes me physically sick. The bad outweighed the good, but the good was amazing and that's the hard part I am dealing with.
