I doubt anyone here is going to judge you for going to see an escort. Personally, I'm merely impressed that at 19, one has the finances in order to see one!

Honestly? It's going to hurt for a while. I was with a girl for a month (I really only count it as a week, really) but we still bonded. We kissed, we hugged. No sexual connection, though. Seven months later, I've come to the point where I don't miss her... I just miss having -someone-. I'm a bigger guy with shitty self esteem, and half of a job though. It's hard to get girls for me in my location. I don't have any tips on how to pick yourself up. I'm sorry. I simply don't have much experience in…

Reading some of the comments here are interesting. "It isn't sexist because they don't NEED baked goods." Okay. Using that logic, it would be 100% kosher to revoke the right for women to vote. After all, women don't NEED the right to vote, right? It's completely optional. (For the record, I'm not advocating for the removal of womens' right to vote. I would strongly advocate, however, for the requirement of women to sign up for Selective Service, or the abolition of the Selective Service being a …

No, greed, corruption, and deception by those at the very top got us into wars. It's been like that all throughout history.

"Ironically, if some of them could simply state that they feel exactly the same way about many feminists, maybe we could meet in the middle or at least have a conversation." Funnily enough, we do you biased witch. Whenever we do, there's a chorus of 'not all feminists' or, 'those are the radicals' even as you bring out the worsts of those who would claim (or be attributed the claim) to be an MRA. Why are we giving this woman any screen time at all? It's clear she'd never see men as anything but …

Slowclaps, my friend. Slowclaps. I'd love to see a follow up, if you have the time and don't mind.

It isn't required under VAWA, however the school, itself, requires it now.

I have no evidence stating that all students, despite gender, were required, but I've had broad-cast email from one professor that seemed to target all students, reminding them of the survey. So, for now, I'm going to assume that it wasn't just sent to the guys. And, as stated, the test seemed very gender neutral. It was vague in a few places, but nothing inherently malicious came across my radar at all.
/r/MensRights03/02/15 10:46 PM

Actually, the course, itself, was gender-neutral. It does seem contrived, as we've had fewer than six cases (from what's in our handbook) of sexual violence at our university since 2011.
/r/MensRights03/02/15 08:39 PM

That's what I'm assuming, and that is the belief that I would place in conversation. I'm not going to go out of my way to determine if they were or not, but if they were not, I'd be raising hell.

I don't have any confirmation that women had to take it, too, but other than a few very vague things, this thing seemed mostly harmless.

Because violence against men doesn't exist. No, not even man on man violence. All violence is perpetrated against women. Saying otherwise is misogyny and violence against women. So is a man punching another man. Everything is misogyny. /joke

That's correct. There's campuses all over the area. Don't think it's just Plano, but there are a few campuses here.

I made an album of some of the highlights, and I commented it in. I'm still getting used to linking things on Reddit. I'll say this again here: The course was very gender neutral, and I only found a few loopholes, but I think that's nitpicking. Overall, I think that this test meant well, and I felt safe taking it after the fact. That doesn't excuse the fact that I was forced to take it to continue my education. But, for now, I will endure it without a grudge. It's nothing demeaning or accusatory…

FOLLOW UP I've just completed the course (didn't take more than 20-30 minutes) and to its credit, it is fairly gender neutral. I've taken some screenshots of the highlights for your viewing pleasure, and put them in an album. Note, I didn't screenshot everything, but it was more due to my mental slipping, rather than deliberate omission. http://imgur.com/a/5busb

Right now, I'm screenshotting the highlights. To its credit, it's actually pretty gender neutral.

I got this email this morning. I haven't yet accessed the course to determine if it is gender-neutral, or if it is discriminatory against men, but I figured I'd make some noise and let this known. My college tends to be pretty gender neutral when it comes to things, but I'm still nervous that this will just be another man-bashing attempt that universities are prone to.

He means that figuratively. He isn't the literal man in the story. He is merely conveying that his ex had attacked him.

"That he didn’t [call the police after I attempted to assault him] says much about the strength of our relationship and how well he understood me." No, you entitled idiot. The fact that you were willing to assault him, even in a fit of rage, shows the strength of your relationship. His not calling the police could be a number of things, including fear, acquiescence, or even giving up. I can't believe that one can just explain it away so casually and be so blase about ASSAULTING ONE'S SPOUSE. If …

Might just be limitations in Germany. In America, I'm able to see it just fine. More often than not, I listen to their podcasts. They're pretty quick in making a podcast out of any show, usually the next day at the earliest. An easy way to make it through the day. :)

We've all been at that dark point where, no matter what it seems we do, we can't get girls to even pay attention to us. I'm just coming from that point. But I guarantee you, before I came here, I was clueless in the ways of wooing women. I'm getting better now, of course, but were it not for decently helpful people, I would be nowhere near what I am right now. The answer isn't to turn them away, but to politely nudge them to /r/AskSeddit. After all, that is what it is there for; beginners are su…

You are a fountain of knowledge! To be brutally honest, I've never had a problem with cougars. I always figured they were looking for the more fit, sports playing guys, though. In all honesty, since I started taking my balls when I go out, I haven't exactly made the best effort to look for them. I always sarge alone, mainly because I don't have anyone to wingman for/with. Okay, have any tips on how to attract cougars, such as physical changes? I have a pretty well-known cougar den nearby, but I'…

Thanks for the advice! A few questions, if you don't mind: 1) What's important about Thursdays in terms of bars? Also, at what time should I expect to get the most reception to advances? 2) What's the best way to determine if a girl in a coffee shop is receptive to being approached? I suppose, any girl in general? 3) Say I do increase my age bracket. What is the best way to attract someone 10-15 years my senior?

I'm a larger guy, 5''6' and 245lbs. Online dating isn't an option for me. :/ But yes, it's going to be weird to be consistantly on the prowl. Have any ideas for clubs that I might fit in well with? Something one wouldn't normally think of? I've exhausted meetup.com for 10 miles

Plano, Texas. There was an odd thought when I realized that, yes, I probably needed to flirt with everyone. It's a far cry from the introverted little nerd I started as.

Don't let this discourage you. The second time I approached a girl, she had a boyfriend, and the fourth time, she was married (I failed to check for a ring!) It happens, but you just keep going!

Ever since the beginning of human sentience, our perception (the way we understand and see the world) began to develop before we were born. As we grow older, our perception hardens, as ideas, beliefs, morals, joys, hatreds, prejudices, and assumptions are set in stone. The perceptions of children are the most malleable, they can be formed and shaped however anyone chooses. The perceptions, the reality of younger teens are a bit more hardened, but an open-minded teenager will still allow themselv…

Don't think of this as a defeat. Think of this as a lesson. You're going to get rejected, man. Hell, I went out last night and cold-approached four beautiful ladies, and got soft-rejected each and every time. You don't ride a bike for the first time without falling over. And, unfortunately, there's no training wheels for the game. Keep at it!

If they're better at gaming, that's great! There's a little something called 'watch and learn.' Have you asked your friends to help you? 1) Time with friends, always good. 2) You'll get kick-ass pointers on not just approaching, but on picking up women, as well. 3) They can lead you by example. You're fucking lucky, man. I have NO ONE to go sarge with. No one. I've had to learn everything I know by my own. Your friends are an asset. Use their knowledge!

Of course everyone is shallow. I didn't say that they weren't shallow. I was merely conveying that people who some would consider 'unattractive' are still fucking killing it in the pick up and hookup games. And even if you're hot, you're still doing work. You can't just be ripped and walk up to a hottie in a club and say 'Hey, wanna bang?'

Okay, man, you have a classic case of Approach Anxiety. Luckily, I'm a doctor. The only medication I can give you is practice. Make five approaches a week and call me in a month. On a more serious note. You go up to girls the same way you would go up to a guy. This goes for both in a club and out. There are tons of suggested ways to approach women, and in all honesty, it's best to come up with your own. One example I'll use is my personal favorite, and it's gotten me the most success. When I see…

Good looks alone will only get you so far, however. It'll get your foot in the door easier, but even fat/less attractive guys can get girls' attention in the bar and in bed. Believe it or not, women are not as shallow as many people tend to label them. Of course, fitness and physical attractiveness doesn't hurt, not at fucking all, but you can definitely pick up, perhaps even hook up, even if you aren't Orlando fucking Bloom. You still require some skills at the game, though.

Unfortunately, man, I don't think that's possible. If it was just as easy as glancing at a girl, getting her to notice you, getting close to her, and then taking her to your place, this subreddit would not be as gigantic as it is. Everyone would be getting laid, man. Game is hard, man. Game is probably the most frustrating social shit I've had to deal with in years. It takes a lot of time and practice, but it's an art form. It's a muscle to be stretched. It is a dance that can be improved, perfe…

So, open cold and fast, "Hey, I couldn't help but notice, you look amazing tonight. I love your x (earrings, blouse, scarf, ect)" and build up conversation for a couple of minutes. After the opening, start some kino, light touches on the arm, warm smiles all around. Maybe glances breastward when I 'think' she isn't looking? How might I escalate this further? I'm feeling amazing right now and I am going to make this happen!

Not my terminology. :P I understand the mentality. I'm not the competitor, I'm the prize. I'll probably just come back and say my interests are pretty low. If she's able to hold a conversation, and willing to hold a dick, I'm probably interested. I know that sounds horrible, but it is mostly true.

Thank you! I'm worried to read over it again. (It was like 2 AM when I finished it and I was one foot in bed) I will say, however, I will be making another tonight if I have my way. I'm going to be headed to a local supposed cougar den, and I'm going to try approaching and practicing interest. My only concern is that I'm a tad chubby, and I'm still not sure if I've worked out how to hold her into the conversation. I'll definitely keep last night in mind, however.

This. Absolutely this. Of all the things I aspire to be, a relationship breaker is not one of them. Unfortunately, I don't quite have the social circle big enough to be invited to parties just yet.

I think I know the feeling. Except instead of just women, it was with everyone. Hell, sometimes I still feel that way. But tonight, I'm going to hit it up at a local bar for a few hours, flex that Alpha mindset and see where it'll take me. I'll be happy at at least 1 #-close, but a k-close will just make my entire day until the new year.

I'll admit that I hesitated, but the AA left probably less than 5 minutes after I saw her. In truth the 'cute as hell' thing I heard from a podcast (I think I was Dating Skill Review or something like that) I've since realized this works best when you want to chance a quick toss of the fishing line when you're running out the door.

Were I in california, I would ask 'yes' to do ANYTHING with my girlfriend EVER. "Can I touch your breasts?" "Can I kiss you now?" "Can I hug you?" "Can I stare at your chest?" "Can I look at your butt?" "Can I put it in now?" "Can I go faster?" It seems less about making women safer, and more about making them dominatrixes

I don't have a hell of a lot of experience with this, but I get where you're coming from. People in general, despite gender, want to be adored and appreciated. At this time in our culture, unfortunately, it's more acceptable for men (the bug, dumb brutes that we are) to adore women. That said, if a woman shows any interest in a man (especially a man who is not used to having womens' interest) then the man, as well as people around them, may think that there is a romantic interest on the part of …
