On top of other things listed here, what people say and what they do are not always compatible. I knew someone who was absolutely savage to everyone in her life, including her "alpha" husband, who has nearly left her over her behavior twice and who attempts not to have sex with her so that they don't have yet more children. Her MIL actually contacted me in secret once after I cut contact because she was so concerned about the escalating verbal abuse. Online, this same woman presents herself as a…

They don't accept that they're doing anything wrong. There is shame involved in calling out your own behavior. In order to accept that you have done something that ugly, you have to love yourself enough to forgive yourself. They do not love themselves enough. At the end of the day, the red pill is about being externally validated because they aren't internally validating. There is nothing in the world more woman-centered than the manosphere.

The idea that one person should manage the home isn't inherently red-pilled. There is a lot of responsibility to balance, especially if there are children or a family owned business to consider. Domestic work is legitimate and valuable, and it is inappropriate for couples to over-work themselves or neglect their kids in order to reinforce the devaluation of domestic work. If both folks make enough, then help can be hired to assist with demanding hours, but for many families, the most logical dec…

Replacing one addiction with another is extremely common. If he doesn't get the help he needs, he may get rid of this addiction just like he did with alcohol, but there's no telling what will take its place. He may not be drinking, but he is not what those in recovery call "sober." There is a 12 step group for loved ones of sex and porn addicts. I strongly recommend it.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned sex addicts anon. The 12 steps are peak interior work, imo.

TRP doesn't change those things, it exacerbates them. The tension and infighting is the point. That's what they want. I can't blame you for feeling like your efforts are being downplayed. They are. But frankly, women didn't build this oligarchy. Women didn't summon this bifurcation. Don't let yourself be bated. My suggestion is to avoid media that makes you hate people- it's trying to do just that. Effective distraction is helpful to their golf buddy class, and the adrenaline created by that ang…

Addiction means it's a problem for you. You don't seem to believe this is a problem. Sounds more like a lifestyle choice based on your OP and comments.

After a few years, you totally shut off your emotions, so while it's happening it doesn't feel like anything. When I left him, that was a blessing. I had not bonded with him for years. I had not consented to anything physical for years- which is not to say he respected that boundary. It made me totally cold to him, in a way I have never experienced toward anyone else. It also made me respond to feeling s_xually vulnerable with eating disordered behaviors. Last summer (a year and a half ago) I ca…

Your friend hates the prefrontal cortex, which is the part of the brain that tells women why they are angry and offended by him. " It doesn’t matter how smart teens are or how well they scored on the SAT or ACT. Good judgment isn’t something they can excel in, at least not yet. The rational part of a teen’s brain isn’t fully developed and won’t be until age 25 or so. In fact, recent research has found that adult and teen brains work differently. Adults think with the prefrontal cortex, the brain…

Apparently, the red pill is not a good ideology because it oppresses women or something? But it has worked so well for me. I mean... yeah, most oppressors harm others because it benefits them somehow.

Other people should not need to suffer for you to feel okay. If someone has an easy life, that's neat for them. Resenting them for it will hurt you.

She took me for everything in court I assess divorcee decrees all day at work. Know how marriage and divorce is structured in your state. Do not get your lawyer to "fight for you"-- they are sharks, and the law will win every time. Divorce awards are just an algorithm your judge plugs some numbers into. You'll either get half of everything based on your state's equation, or you'll get half of whatever is left over based on your state's equation after your lawyers suck you both dry. Period. I pro…

A single mother is a woman who has what they consider the ultimate "she can never abandon me, no matter what I do" qualifier (a child), yet they are walking around free and happily independent. Red pill men are, ultimately, terrified of being alone or vulnerable. Don't let that trick any passers-by into believing they can change a red-piller. These people do not see their views as a problem, and if they are going to change, it will never be from external forces. You can't love someone out of the…

being such a high value guy that you get to have it all and your ltr is monogamous and happy w you knowing you’re fucking other girls and she’s okay with it because she values you so highly that she’s afraid to leave you and put up with you fucking other girls while she has to stay loyal I think this under-estimates the likelihood that motivation to be in a LTR is linked to self-assurance and Freud's ego. I think there are people who do this on the surface, but that it's fully transactional. I s…

If I leave, I'm going to do so with some dignity. And if I cheat, my codependent brain is going to compulsively excuse any and all behavior 'because I'm no better.' Honestly, this is terrible advice. People being curt and dismissive is one thing, we all have those moments. But this is ignorant and/or predatory. You should both have more self-respect, and that's coming from ME.

Thank you, that may help me more than AlAnon. In the shower tonight, I thought "I am a good partner. I try to maintain my commitments. I try to be kind. I try to be responsible. I try not to ask for help when I can do something on my own. Staying with me is not the ultimate act of martyrdom that I pretend it is. Being with me is a gift." I honestly think I need to meditate on that pretty hard until it sticks a bit better, because it felt like a huge revelation and it really shouldn't.

Thank you very much for this. I don't have a long response to it right now, but it will probably be my alanon journal prompting for at least a solid week. Thank you.

I have to wonder if you have tendencies towards codependency I do. I fired my last therapist because she also excused this behavior and was essentially just reinforcing whatever I wanted to hear, which is a very expensive way to make no progress. But I am trying another one out as soon as she has an opening (IN JUNE!) and I also have begun to attend AlAnon to remedy my issues. Asking how I can change him is, frankly, against my AlAnon sobriety. So, I'm sort of glad that the entire sub just gave …

Thanks for being frank but not sarcastic or degrading. Curious, not that it much matters nor would it justify it: did his activities with professionals start AFTER the plotted/attempted murder? No, they started before that. They took place from 2013-2019.
