-2	Why is female virginity valued while male virginity is not? It stems from the ancient standards for each gender to have a "perfect being". Female virginity is held in high regard because it's viewed as one of those perfect qualities. Historically, female virginity was an indicator of youth, innocence and beauty. Thus meaning she was a "perfect women" that could give her sexuality to her husband alone and could be a "perfect wife".
