"we don't have further information on this" It wouldn't be speculation if I had data. But you proceeded to call your speculation statistics

How? Is saying "you can't force women to sleep with you?" also putting the blame on women?

I actually think the sexlessness is a good thing, considering I'm more trad in my views (i.e. no to premarital sex). But as for the data. I disagree with you, but the rest of the study might make you happy. https://www.hepi.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Sex-and-Relationships-Among-Students-Summary-Report.pdf It states only a third of students watch porn (31% all, 43% men, 22% women), one in ten are voluntarily abstaining from sex (11% all, 10% men, 12% women), and around a third has never kis…

You don't need to be "top %" to have standards

Aside from OP's point, rappers are hardly the figure of traditional masculinity. They're either fat dudes in baggy clothes, average dudes in baggy clothes, or super colorful and up to their teeth in jewelry. And I'm not even trying to say that Killer Mike or Chance or Tyler the Creator or The Weeknd or Post Malone don't look good, just that they're not the squared jawed ripped demigods people here seem to think is the model of masculinity

Did you not read the previous sentence? She said it's the second lowest because of the chance of resentment against women, if that qualifier wasn't there it wouldn't, be so low.

To add, from OP's study, it doesn't appear to make a difference on marriage happiness for women, but then again the only options were "Very Happy" and "Not Very Happy" so there's not much nuance to be examined. Top 1% vs 99% Both sit at 61% Very Happy. Top 5% vs 95% A meager difference of 62% vs 64% Very Happy, respectively.

The other interesting part is that, among the educated categories, the only education level where men are more promiscuous than women are less then high school education. Sorry, but it is not really fair to say women are more promiscuous than men in these categories given it is comparing women with 16+ partners and men with 50+ partners (top 5 percentile for each). What's interesting to me is table 1, where the only time number of lifetime sexual partners is higher for women than men is in the b…

I don't get why it's laughable tho. Even if its not all that, losing housing can be just as devastating to a lower income person as losing their business or inheritance to someone better off, so why should that not be as acceptable?

No hard and fast rules. Will always depend on ehat's the culture around you. Look at the beauty standards for Asians: they prefer sleek, cute, more androgynous men, with a flashier fashion. Think K-Pop and J-Pop stars, those anime-looking boys, etc. Even with the different tropes they have for looks, they're all "more feminine" compared to American standards, for example.

From what I can tell from hearing people on hrt, yes, that's true and a hormonal trait. Obviously there'll be variance on any population, but in general men have more testosterone, which in sexual attraction is associated with visual stimulus. Women will have varying levels of estrogens, testosterone and progesterone, which will affect how much, how intense and how the sexual desire is expressed (not respectively), and while individuals taking e for hormonal treatment report that it changes thei…

How do you teach someone something out of their control? That's just teaching to ignore and play along with a problem if you see it

But then it's not should, it's expected. There's a difference, if you express that's what should be, then you are also taking part in setting that the idealized expectation is actually true, in "telling this to others".

Not really, it's not an expected rule to be followed, more of a "this can happen too". Expect all kinda of backgrounds for male/female subs/doms, but of course there's the self-selection that the men who can pay foi r a domme will be successful in their careers, and the contrast sticks more in the mind.

Dude, you're just full-on lying about something that from the sounds of it you never even read, because it's not even a conclusion of the book that "opening up to women is a mistake" (it's not even focused on romantic relationships), and the way you've been describing vulnerability is diametrically opposed to how the author does in the first fucking chapter. Even the name is based on Roosevelt's "Arena Man" speech. In case you didn't catch it, it's the "man in the arena whose face is marred by d…

How it was conducted, the methodology, that'd be a great start. How each term is defined within the study, how attraction and vulnerability were measured, the data that led to the conclusions... because what you're doing is giving a conclusion without any framework, citing work that does not even support you conclusion as evidence. It's just hot air, there's not even anything resembling a discussion. And the work is also misrepresented. It's qualitative research based on Glaser's Grounded Theory…

Why are you assuming it says anything about women's choices? The definition of "being made to penetrate" in the study is followed by: It also includes female perpetrators attempting to force male victims to penetrate them, though it did not happen. Edit: Later on it reports 79% of "being made to penetrate" reports reporting a female perpetrator. Now this is confusing.

I was with you until you mentioned living on your own. It's 2020, most millenials/gen z couldn't afford housing on a single income before covid recession, now it's an even bigger struggle to find new non-gig jobs. I don't live in the US and don't live the situation there, but it doesn't sound immensely better. When I was doing my master's, I had to share a house. I knew post-doc students who shared housing. Fuck, my boss works two jobs making 5 figure total and just recently moved out of his par…

Dude, COYOTE has been around at least two decades before third wave feminism, and has been supported by NOW since the beggining, which is about as classicaly feminist an org as you can get. This is not an older vs newer generation issue, that's not what the debate boils down to. postmodernists (who were all literal paedophiles) Also lol

See, this is a great example of misunderstanding science. Because while it is correct to say that attraction standards change through time and culture, something you're "programmed to" wouldn't, by definition. And neither would innate biology (in such a short span without great external pressure) such as what signals fertility. Which is again misunderstood. This is well documented that across primate species the universal signs of fertility are age, parity, and sexual swellings. We are unique in…

So its been more than a day. Actually had the papers by the time you asked but not really much time for a write-up. Still don't really, but I supposed something is better thannothing. So Mark and Lasslo (2018) has a systematic review of 64 peer-reviewed articles regarding sexual desire in long-term relationships. It summarizes what has and hasn't been researched, general consensus and divergent conclusions, the whole shebang. It sort of spearheads the future of sexual desire, as it is customary …

Do you have access to journals? I don't have access with me right now. sci-hub.se, (if its down try .tw or .sw) you can access most articles that have a digital object identifier (doi), which is most papers past the 90s (though some journals have protections nowadays), through copying and pasting that on that site's "search bar". I'll research this a little bit before commenting on the matter, should be about a day.

Diminishing outgoing social activity, which leads to less exposition to the opposite sex irl. It's interesting to note that the increasing trend towards youth not having had sex in the last year is general, ie. affected both men and women, but more men. Except for college campuses, in which it doesn't happen. The rise in sexual inactivity was driven primarily by those who did not attend college, and thus missed the hookup culture of many college campuses. However, sexual inactivity among those w…
